KOM EX088EP

While well-established Polish DJ and producer duo Catz 'n Dogz is mostly known for bouncy, tongue-in-cheek house tunes, it was their precursor project 3 Channels that originally put them on the map. Starting in 2005, they enraptured scene pundits with releases on labels such as Trapez, Crosstown Rebels, and Dirtybird, presenting a particularly catchy definition of techno that would soon cross over into the uplifting, pop-infused style of their work since. With Speicher 88, Grzegorz Demiañczuka and Wojciech Tarañczuk return to their techno roots and drop two hypnotic, expertly layered exercises in sheer club momentum for monstrous impact on the floor.

TRAPEZ 088EP

Following the international success of "It's Gettin' Kinda Hectic," off of their Bio 3000 release, this 12" comes with mixes by Mihalis Safras and Dubticket. Safras' remix (mixed together with his friend Liberto), makes the original sound like a techno classic -- mature, big sounds, grand production. On the flip is a modern minimal approach with a bass line that is so fat and deep, that big sound systems will flood the dancefloor with "hot air." Astounding.

3 Channels return with two peak-time tracks on Trapez. "It's Gettin' Kinda Hectic" is a polyrhythmic heavy monster, with lots of clonks and drugged out vocals. The track has a fantastic build up, slowly but steadily marching towards the climax. "Incoming" is much lighter, but has more drive to it with a strong Latin feel which will definitely appeal to the more funk-attracted crowd.

"After some successful work on Crosstown Rebels, Trenton and Trapez, Grzegorz Demiaczuk and Wojciech Taraczuk decided to start their own label in order to publish music made by themselves and their artist friends. The first EP called Together is a classic dancefloor mangler. The starting track is 'Night Track' which brings Channel's sound back to their house and tribal roots with some throbbing drums, while the whole narrative rolls into an ascending electronic punch -- a sure killer. But wait, there's more: 'Night Track' is remixed by the Phage and Daniel Dreier duo, who have already garnered a wide audience with their Higerade and Klang records. And they deliver a successful rendition which lends a superb minimal quality to the dance-worthy mix. The second side presents more of a dark-minimal facet of Channels rec. 'Reply' is a dynamic surprise: rumbling, interweaving drums that seem to grow on with every moment, penetrating into your body, finally to display a brilliantly arranged, classical piano theme. The EP ends with an excellent mix of 'joigzm' produced by Lineas de Nazca, a Mexican duo known for their superb productions on Eintekt. This is the raw of the record; raw, as in: crystal clear and rocking your socks off until the last note."

Bar 135 is a follow-up to the Simple EP in a big fashion. The A-side track "Lady Salata" is a techno animal, representing a main floor, full-on techno tool. The flip-side tracks "Amnesia" and "Close Up" reveal the deeper, tricky, drugged-out side of techno. "Amnesia" develops into a cool, dry percussive rocker with a lot of nice understatement. "Close Up" has an old school acid tune in it. 3 Channels are one of the few acts that can join the classic techno approach with the hip effects and modulations that are big now in clubs worldwide. Their production is so powerful and brilliant in its details that it positions them firmly on the techno world map!

TREN 011EP

"A new Trenton release for the upcoming Polish Duo! They are back again with three ultimate dancefloor tracks after already two releases on Trenton and labels such as Trapez ltd. and Crosstown Rebel. On the A-side a first cut called 'Jack In': a solid minimal tech-house-electro groove and a bit of acid lines building up in the break... just a classic party tune that works. Followed by 'Antypatia,' more old school minimal, a simple bass line, a tight beat and a 'rim-shot based African-syncopation flair'. The B-side is epic... as the title says (2 minuty po tym means 2 minutes break in Polish) a loooong break with classic Detroit chords! Definitely Trenton branded: Forward with chords and groovy beats."

"The duo 3 Channels are the musicians Deeop (Grzegorz Demiañczuk) and Ketiov (Wojciech Tarañczuk). 3 Channels first production was released 2003 on there own label Trenton. Since then they have been releasing regularly. For 2006 the duo has an album planed. With their Simple EP on Trapez Ltd and their upcoming release on Crosstown Rebels they have managed to expanded there output. The 3 Channels 3-track EP on Trapez emphasizes a modern techno approach with crazy breaks and computer sounds, strictly 100% for the club."
