Jet Remixes is the third single from Ellen Allien & Apparat's album Orchestra of Bubbles. The first remix comes from Ben Klock: where beat and melody are twisted equally in the original version, Ben puts the melody in the background and concentrates more on the beat. Paul Kalkbrenner pays tribute to his reputation as a dancefloor rocker with plenty of hi-hat and bass drum -- first-class deep techno. The XTC remix of "Sleepless" turns the more home-listening original into a fine club number.

Another single from Ellen Allien & Apparat's album Orchestra of Bubbles. On the A-side there is a dance remix of both artists that really cracks, vibrates, accumulates and then explodes. A2 is a remix by Robag Wruhme of pure dance music full of cut-up broken beats -- jazzy, bouncy, that turns body and soul into a steaming pot. The B-side features two tracks otherwise only available on the CD version as bonus tracks. Where "Rotary" can be described as a perfectly built-up dance track with fading keyboard facets, "Sleepless" has more song characteristics with drums that sound like dirty Rock 'n' Roll. Ellen Allien's smooth vocals turn this composition into a track we could listen to all night long.

"Turbo Dreams" introduces you to the partnership with guitar licks and metronomic precision. In "Way Out," Allien's vocals coast atop muted acid breakdowns. On "Retina," contrabasso parries with string pulses. Circuitry splits open, beautifully as a time-lapse tulip, on "Jet." "Floating Points" levitates the ears towards the second movement in the orchestra where "Under" begins the dubstep-style transformation. "Edison" is a kind of Asian filament-funk. "Leave Me Alone" finds Apparat on vocals, crooning in a shoegaze style. "Do Not Break" will give you the chills - a manifesto of neu beat-scratching technique and syncopated splendor, while "Metric" is grime with a string section. And Ellen's final vocal contribution, "Bubbles," is a perfectly lovely epilogue. The orchestra is warming, draw the bubble bath. Are you ready? Sure you are.
