Following his debut Auto (FP 013CD/LP, 2017), Chmmr delivers Try New Things, a new collection of music to inspire half an hour. The sophomore album features (in order of appearance): prefab naiveté, idle saturdays in early fall, inaccurate weather reports, lead arias for courtship, a planet, romantic stage pianos, an ode, and a post-LAN party mood. All in all a fitting backdrop for any function that's about opening oneself up, be that in solitude or in good company. This record is meant as an imperative to the listener: try new things. One may regret it; it might backfire. Do it anyway. Obfuscated behind his Chmmr moniker is Even Brenden, whose warped debut made it into this world via Norwegian psych-disco label Luna Flicks in 2010. The record became somewhat of a sought-after item, and after making pit stops at Relish and Dødpop as well as remixes for Prins Thomas and Skatebård, he ended up with the Full Pupp label in 2014, generating a string of singles that culminated in the highly praised full-length Auto in 2017.

Double LP version. Having released of string of 12"s since 2010, Even Brenden, AKA Chmmr (pronounced "chi-murr"), recorded his first full-length, Auto, over the spring of 2016. A true nostalgic, he uses Compass Point-era and early Italo sounds for inspiration, and attempts to simulate these styles. This makes for a melodic, chuggy, and graphic album that belongs a little more in the living room than on the dancefloor. With ten tracks of dusty rhythms and the honest, naïve, and spacious themes that is Brenden's signature, it's a record designed to signal that today's technological future may not be as different as yesterday's. Hidden behind his Chmmr moniker is Even Brenden, whose summery debut found its way into the world via Norwegian psych-disco label Luna Flicks in 2010. The record became somewhat of a sought after item, and after making pit stops at Relish, Dødpop, and Untz Untz Records, he landed on Prins Thomas's Full Pupp label in 2014 and have stayed put ever since, all the while enjoying a steady habit of record jocking and the occasional keyboard duty in Telephones' now-defunct live band. Even resides in Oslo makes odd waves without vowels. Cover painting by the late Harold Cohen's AARON program - automation at its finest.

Chmmr, aka Even Brenden, is back with Media Vision. "Understand" and "User" are more direct, the first more percussive straight up to the floor the latter more piano driven and with a playful '90s pop edge, but yet again both sport Even's distinct feel for warm sound, on-point grooves and ear-catching hook-lines. "Media Vision" is a 12 minute, slow-burning, syncopated killer of almost Metro Area-esque proportions.

Chmmr is the dance music making moniker of Even Brenden hailing from Norway. The unmistakably sparkling Chmmr sound stands for long, hypnotic tracks, simple in a way, but oh so groove-laden, sick-bassed, and continuously panned and patterned with a string theme. Last but not least, Prins Thomas adds his own remix version with an epic, mythical twist.

Trondheim is home to trønder rock, bad mustaches, leather vests and one young DJ/producer named Chmmr aka Even Brenden. Aimed straight at the dancefloor, like a piano monster from '88, "Love Will Lead U Back" works its charms at the peak-time of any party. "Man" is an early-morning Italo-acid-disco monster: from the bad-ass bass line and scatty drums to the weirdo synths, as well as a piano line that takes the roof off, all topped with some good ol' acid.
