LP version. Following Le Cut-Up Populaire (BEC 5676465/5676466, 2020), Pascal Comelade announces the release of his new album Le Non-Sens Du Rythme. Since his first record published in 1975, Pascal Comelade, a child of the frenzy rock of the '60s and '70s, has developed a profuse body of work including many musical collaborations (PJ Harvey, Robert Wyatt, Jaki Liebezeit (Can), Lee Ranaldo, The Liminanas...) and non-musical collaborations (Jeanne Moreau, Sergi Lopez, Jean François Stévenin, Bob Wilson...) His compositions are reminiscent of MC5, Erik Satie, Nino Rota, Ennio Morricone, Suicide: a language that dances on a musical skeleton in perpetual movement by successive fusions, mixing folklore and underground, repetitive music and French chanson, pataphysical riffs and toy instruments. As a multiple artist, he has developed an aesthetic approach via a particular link to visual arts. He draws, paints and occasionally performs with painters Miquel Barcelo and Hervé Di Rosa. On his new album, Le Non-Sens Du Rythme (to be translated "the nonsense of rhythm", the title says it all), Pascal Comelade almost plays all the instruments, not only multiple pianos but also the Rickenbaker e.bass, the Indian Harmonium, various keyboards, and even the tin can. He remains the undisputed master of the instrumental ritornello inspired by popular music as well as krautrock.

Because Music present the first reissue of Pascal Comelade's Paralelo, originally released in 1980. This first reissue identically features all the elements of the original version: the black and white sleeve with its painting made by Don Jacques Ciccolini, and all musical features popularized by Pascal Comelade (repetitive music, the concept of sequences, and continuous sound). Auto-produced on his own label Parasite, Comelade mainly uses one instrument for all parts of the album: an EMS/AKS synthesizer. Recorded on K7 and 2-track tape recorder Revox A77, Paralelo is the most representative album from Pascal Comelade's electronic times (1974/1981). A part from "Beyrouth 66", "Musique Ridicule", and "Erratum Musical", the album features a vocal loop (from English composer Gavin Bryars). This reissue comes as double-LP; the original version gets extended with the second vinyl. On the C side: "Séquences Païennes" are extracted from 1978 recording sessions, partially released on a 7" in 1979 and fully reissued in the six-CD boxset Rocanrolorama in 2016; On the D side: "15 Minutes de Sonoto-Luddisme", originally entitled "Musique par Correspondance" was recorded between Montpellier and London (1978-1981) with David Cunningham (member of the Flying Lizards and producer for Michael Nyman and This Heat). This musical track gets extended on more than 15 minutes that engrave the meeting between the two musicians. Gatefold sleeve; Includes CD.

Double LP version. Gatefold sleeve. Includes CD. Le Rocanrolorama Abrégé is a clear perspective on Pascal Comelade's musical universe; it can be considered an ultimate "best of" and a radical introduction to this chaotic and uncompromising instrumental music. Rocanrolorama Abrégé (abbreviated "rockandrolorama", in English) is the short version of the complete works and reworks of Pascal Comelade, published at the end of 2016 as a six-CD box set, in a limited edition of 1000, numbered and signed copies (BEC 5156515). Pascal Comelade made this album as if it was a new and separate album, with tracks that he considers to best represent his work, from 1993 to 2016, according to the principle applied with the Rocanrolorama box set: songs in their original form, alternative versions, reworks, additions. Le Rocanrolorama Abrégé was conceived with the double LP format in mind: four sides with six tracks each, which you can listen to in the right order, from start to finish, according to a logical, thought-out progression for each side (slow tempo, medium tempo, orchestrations, electricity, etc.), paying tribute to the concept behind the collection rhythm and blues formidable.

Well-known from both sides of the Pyrenees to Japan, Pascal Comelade is a Catalan musician living in Dalí's country. After living in Barcelona, where he founded his Bel Canto Orquestra in 1985, he released his first album Fluence, on Pôle in 1975. This first work was definitely inspired by electronic music, especially by Richard Pinhas's band Heldon. Comelade likes making links between arts, mixing music with graphic design and literature. It is indeed one of composer's first concerns to not stay locked in patterns and codes specific to a style. Painter Robert Combas created the original artwork of Comelade's 1993 album, Traffic d'Abstraction. For this reissue, Combas's second painting, which was on the inside of the original CD booklet, now appears on the back of the main jacket. The selection here also includes only the songs that Comelade judges to be the best from the original album, along with completed versions, alternative versions, and previously unreleased pieces from the same time period as Traffic d'Abstraction. Additionally, the CD includes the animation clip "The Skatalan Logicofobism," created by Florence Deygas and Olivier Kuntzel in Paris in 1994. This reissue coincides with Comelade's appearance as a pianist accompanying Robert Combas and François Boisrond's visual performance in Paris, Porte de Champerret. Presented in gatefold sleeve. Numbered edition of 500.

French-Catalan musician Pascal Comelade's world is atypical and his inspirations come from many different sources -- from contemporary music to The Cramps -- making him one of the most creative and original artists of our times. At the crossroads of many different arts, never where he's expected, he never ceases to surprise his audience, taking the listener on poetic paths of primitive perception. El Pianista del Antifaz is the latest album in Comelade's galaxy. The artwork was designed by Dutch illustrator Joost Swart.
