OPSMINI 002EP
|
"After the big success of opssum mini 001, wich was hammered by a lot of well known DJs, the label comes around with a new part, this time produced by Volker Dornhagen. Dornhagen is not somebody like an unknown producer anymore, he released records on Raum Musik, Treibstoff and Monitor, just to name a few. A1 presents a dark and crispy 'new-school track' called 'Testbild,' if you would ask me I would say a pretty great mixture between older horrorist stuff and Treibstoff soundworks, this one will rock the floor for sure!! The flip comes around with two more bombs, atmospheric and warm chords meet scary soundstructures, call it neo-trance, call it tech-house, B1 called 'Geisterschiff' is my absolutely fave on this long awaited 2nd release."

RAUM 053EP

"Volker Dornhagen hails from Hamburg, Germany and has released some music on Kompakt sublabel Auftrieb. This is his first record on Raum...Musik and he delivers us three excellent pieces of minimal techno music. Although the tempo of all three featured tracks are more house paced, the mood is quite dark and heavy and due to the fact that the tracks are stripped down to the maximum, they become highly functional DJ tools. On the b-side you will find a Dub Kult remix by London's Neilon Pitamber, who shows us his more experimental side this time."

AUFTRIEB 18

"They are pierced, they have silicon lips and they think it's 'natural'. They talk about sex at an age when their parents used to play with dolls and matchbox cars. Flirts are SMS messages and if they need a boy-/girlfriend, they check the WWW. Well, youngsters are different nowadays. They grow up in an interactive world governed by mobility and flexibility. With endless opportunities to be seized. And out of this new freedom emerges a new moral concept. Many of you may think that egoism and fun are their driving force. But this wrong and simply a prejudice. While being self-centered and consuming, they still stick to traditional values like reliability, purposefulness and social sense. This might sound contradictory, but fact is that they are only facing tomorrow's network culture. In contrast to the generation of their parents, today's youngsters are using better strategies to cope with the complexity of modern life. Adults, you'd better listen and learn."
