Already looking like one of the grime CDs of the year, King Original Vol. 3 is a heady mixture of grime, trap and dubstep style that Footsie has been steadily pushing over the airwaves and in clubs for the past 12 months, channeling raw, uncompromising Newham Generals energy throughout. Opening with the vibrant and funky "Bubblers," KO3 swiftly moves into darker territory. The brooding "Very Alarming" and "Traps" (a track featured on Footsie's SBTV "Producers House") bring drama to the fore, with Footsie utilizing 808s and vocal stabs to devastating effect. But its stand-out tracks "Newham Tribes," "Tekky," "Spookfest," and the anthemic "Cold Winter" raise the temperature and bring real dancefloor vibes, with gurgling acid lines, booming drums and euphoric pianos. It's a new dimension to Footsie's sound that's never been heard before. "To me, this is my most important release thus far," says the veteran producer. "This volume brings me back up to date in terms of my catalog and contains, what I think, is some of my best work so far." Indeed, 2013 saw Footsie ignite the underground with King Original Vol. 1 and 2, helping spawn a wave of nostalgia for the sounds of old that shows no sign of dissipating. One of the artists leading the instrumental charge is Footsie, a veteran of the grime and dubstep scenes whose beats have been the toast of live shows and radio sets for years. In March of 2013, King Original Vol. 1 (BD 014CD) -- a compilation of classic unreleased material -- saw Footsie claim Mixmag's coveted "Dubstep Album of the Month" accolade. And having gone back, Footsie's ready to go forward. King Original Vol. 2 is an exploration of grime, bass, and dubstep with swing and bounce at its core. Beats used by platinum-selling artist Dizzee Rascal and Maverick Sabre start proceedings, ensuring levels are set from the off. A couple of classic unreleased Newham General beats -- "Violence" and "Move to the Beat" -- follow, which will undoubtedly please heads on the underground. Channeling that raw, uncompromising Newham General energy throughout King Original Vol. 2, Footsie shows just how adept he is behind the boards, drawing from decades of experience and fusing together forgotten elements of dub, jungle, and bass line to create fresh, vibrant sounds. On "Congo" and "No Matter," Footsie even pays homage to his roots and the reggae music that first inspired him to become a musician, with deep, chugging bass lines and sweet melodies that ooze real depth. It is in this mode that his ear for a great riddim really shines. The key to successful artist volumes is progression, and here, Footsie's development as a producer is self-evident, proving that he, and in a wider context, grime, will continue to lead the way in the underground for many years to come.

After years of speculation, suggestion and rumor, Braindead Entertainment is very proud to present Footsie's debut producer album, King Original Vol. 1. Named after his father's legendary East London reggae sound system, King Original Vol. 1 features over 20 classic Footsie productions composed between 2004 to 2006. This is a snapshot of grime at its most exciting and innovative; defining Footsie as one of the most pivotal producers during its golden era. Dubstep don Skream cites Footsie's beats as a big influence on his style. Although the grime soundscape may have changed, the driving drums, twisted melodies and freezing cold bass lines on King Original Vol. 1 remain as vital today as they were all those years ago, with the UK underground now revisiting these sounds, textures and rhythms and reinterpreting them into new forms. This is grime riddim at its most impactful; the beats that caught Dizzee Rascal's ear and held the pirate scene in rapture. Until now, only DJ Tubby and a small handful of elite DJs had access to tracks such as "Arnie," "Merked Again," "Hit It" and "Prang Boy." Now, they're available to everyone.
