D Double E and Footsie, the Newham Generals, return to Butterz with archive material following up their 2015 drop Scars. "Frontline" is an unreleased grime classic from 2005 that comes from the versioning era of grime, where MCs would all do their take on the same instrumental. "Humpty Dumpty" is a lower profile unreleased banger that has been unearthed for the first time since 2006. "War Wid" and "Prangman" are two forgotten grime classics that saw short run vinyl releases back in 2004, but have long been out-of-print. This release marks ten years of Butterz the label, and begins a run of a new slew of 12"s to come out through the remainder of 2020 and 2021.

Since their first collaborative foray with Day & Night, which was released on Butterz in 2015, TQD have rather emphatically proven that their three way formula works; appearing in clubs and at festivals the world over, they've been consistently shaking up scenarios with their high octane blends of (largely) their own music across four deck sets. Following memorable sets on the Boiler Room and live turns at Warehouse Project, Leeds Festival, and Boomtown, Royal-T, DJ Q, and Flava D have been hard at work putting together their ten track debut album, UKG - a bolshy mission statement that encompasses the full spectrum of the garage sound. When you look at each party's discography separately, what's immediately obvious is their shared love of a two-step beat, a hellish hoover bass, and all those cleverly edited vocal ticks. Their debut album is the culmination of that love, with TQS channeling everything from heady, energetic bassline (on "Vibsing Ting"), to ghostly Burial-scapes (on "Only One"), and lounge instrumentation (on "New Day"). "New Day" features Swindle and Skilliam.

Swindle completes his "Trilogy of Funk" series with the Purple Walls EP, joined by soul singer Daley and regular collaborator Terri Walker. It is a full departure from his 140 bpm previous outings on Deep Medi Musik and Butterz, but still retains his signature style he has been honing over the last ten years. The previous EPs in the "Trilogy of Funk" series include: Connecta (AIRMILES 004EP, 2016) and Funk & Grime (AIRMILES 005EP, 2016).

Royal-T, DJ Q and Flava D's collaborative project, TQD, returns to Butterz after taking the club world by storm in 2016. "Only One", which is featured on Flava D's acclaimed FabricLive CD (FABRIC 176CD), is a mellow garage cut they have been closing their sets with, from basement clubs to festival stages. "Ghosts", which was featured in a UK campaign for UKF, is the sound they are mastering - big room bass music.

Swindle's second in a trilogy of EP for Butterz in 2016 leans on his grime roots, featuring veteran MCs D Double E and Ghetts. "Lemon Trees", featuring D Double E, sees the two venture to LA, on a g-funk tip and "Works Haffi Run", featuring Ghetts, has him going in a rare gritty direction. The EP is accompanied by a remix from Flava D of the biggest track from his 2015 album, Peace, Love & Music (AIRMILES 002LP). The "Mad Ting" Remix featured on her recent FabricLive mix (FABRIC 176CD, 2016), and features JME.

2020 repress. Flava D's remix of Rebound X's 2006 grime classic "Rhythm & Gash" took the clubs by storm in 2016 and amassed millions of plays across SoundCloud and YouTube, not to mention Flava D's worldwide performances -- both solo and as part of TQD, her trio with DJ Q and Royal T. That remix is backed here with "Searching" and "Whistler," both taken from Flava D's 2016 FABRICLIVE 88 CD (FABRIC 176CD). The B-side showcases her more mellow side, revisiting the style of her 2013 Butterz debut, Hold On/Home (BR 012EP).

Peace, Love & Music is the result of Swindle's experiences touring globally over 2014 and '15. Constantly meeting other talented musicians and seeing new places helped naturally form an album that brings friends and family from across the world together for the first time. The album visits four continents along the way, toasting the grime roots in London with JME, saluting Swindle's love and respect for Glasgow and Mungo's Hi Fi alongside Flowdan, and stopping in Bristol for an uptempo work out with TC and a 16-bit intro from Joker. Los Angeles is close to Swindle's heart as he lived there for two months in 2014, meeting and making music with Ash Riser. The infamous Sub.mission party in Denver is featured on "Denver @ Cervantes (Denver, CO)," with music dedicated to the people who have made it a home away from home for Swindle. His connections in East Asia are strongly represented via Tokyo and the DBS crew, the Philippines with Hilarius Dauag, and the Electric East crew in Shanghai. There's still time to visit Cape Town and Nonku Phiri and link up with the Guerilla Speakerz crew in Amsterdam before heading home to London to finish off with his Swindle live family -- Terri Walker, Joel Culpepper, Jay Wilcox, and his dad, who plays guitar on "Sing Like You're Winning (Outro)." Peace, Love & Music also serves as a homecoming of sorts for Swindle to the Butterz label, which he has been a part of since its inception in 2010. In 2015, the label holds a prestigious Fabric club residency in London and is one of the premier brands in UK underground music. Peace, Love & Music is the first album to be released on Butterz, a landmark release for the label. Musically, Swindle continues on the jazzy path that his records on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings and Mala's Deep Medi Musik put him on the map for, but expands on the live instrumentation, the tempos, and the breadth of talent featured. Swindle has brought together as many people as possible who share his practice of spreading a positive message through music.

Royal-T follows his 2015 Shotta EP (BR 017EP), which featured P Money and Footsie, with remixes by Wen (Keysound, Soundman Chronicles), who expands "Shotta" into a dark journey, and Kahn & Neek (Deep Medi, Bandulu), who keep the MCs in mind on their "Shotta" remix, with eight-bar switches, short and sharp. Royal-T's production partners t q d (DJ Q and Flava D) follow their 2015 Day and Night garage 12" (BR 018EP) with a bassline-stomper rework of Shotta's mellow "Limbo." David Kelly's photography comes from Soup Kitchen in Manchester, the site of autumn 2015 performances by Wen, Kahn & Neek, and Royal-T.

Rapid is one of the names that always comes up when you ask MCs about their favorite grime producers. Listening to old radio sets, you hear these amazing tracks that have been forgotten, sometimes even by the producers themselves. To find these tracks Butterz had to give Rapid descriptions and audio clips for him to identify -- a testament to the sheer volume of quality music that he has put out over the years.

"'Shotta' uses gunshots and guncocks as percussion... While the charts and radio are currently flooded with soft organs and silky vocals, I want to remind everyone of the other side of the spectrum with gunshots and harsh violins... Hearing Wiley's 'Eskimo' for the first time in my early teens confused me. How could something with this groove... make me feel so cold and dark at the same time? That is the same feeling I wanted to carry with 'Glacier'... 'Limbo' has a familiar skeleton in its 4x4 drum pattern but on top carries a melancholic feel." Features P Money.

Limited 2015 repress with new artwork. First brought to light by the SB.TV F64 freestyles, the ubiquitous grime track "Wooo Riddim" has spawned vocal versions by D Double E, Footsie, P-Money, Chipmunk, JME, and Jammer, stirring debate about whose is the best. The track's popularity has well exceeded the expectations of S-X, its 18-year-old producer. Influenced by dirty south hip-hop, "Wooo Riddim" leans on a stern 808 drum-roll and is accompanied by hypnotic synth-lines that complement the laid-back feeling of the track. DJ Q's dramatic remix features woozy synths and extra sub-bass while maintaining the energy of the original.

"We are the biggest Newham Generals fans... and these three tracks are some of Footsie's best productions that somehow haven't seen the light of day until now. 'Scars' was a hit instrumental... The vocal alongside D Double E and original Newham Generals member Monkstar alongside the one and only Wiley was an instant cult classic... one of the few tracks with Wiley and the Newham Generals together [along with] 'Prangman' Remix which is also featured on this record. 'Move to the Beat' is Footsie & D Double E at their best, a fun exchange for the ravers." --Elijah

In Summer 2013, Butterz took residence at Red Bull Studios and this collaboration is one of many tracks built over that period. Version One was built for the offshoot party the label have been running quietly for the past year: Jamz, Version Two for the big nights they now hold in Fabric, and Version Three is designed to chill. Flava D's "Hold On" broke her as an artist in 2013, getting regular spins from garage legend DJ EZ. Royal-T's "I Know You Want Me" on Rinse was a massive hit, seeing him continue his regular DJ travels across the UK & Europe.

"For years the comparisons between Swindle and Joker have been highlighted, and people always asked about a collaboration record. When putting the line-up together for our third birthday party we planted the seed, uniting these artists for the first time live as the back-to-back headline set. Before the show, Swindle put together the intro track for the set later that night 'Let It Be Known.' Just as they started, Skepta and JME turned up and jumped on the mic, and together they produced one of the greatest sets I have ever seen. Two anthems from two rare talents." --Elijah (Butterz)

The VIP series on Butterz is all about the artist taking two of their popular tracks and exploring the ideas further than the original versions. For Flava D's edition, she reworked "Home" and "Hold On" from her first outing earlier in 2012 on Butterz at the Red Bull Studios in London alongside the Butterz crew. "Hold On" takes an aggressive turn with P Jam throwing down the breaks and Royal-T lending a hand with the bass. Flava's new take on "Home" showcases how much she has developed since joining the Butterz stable. Made with the whole crew, you can get a sense of a willingness to wow the room, especially in the second half, where it takes a darker turn. This marks the start of a slew of releases from Flava D and the rest of the Buttterz camp to close 2013 following the announcement of their new residency at Fabric.

"Airmiles" is the track that helped Swindle enter the electronic music scene back in 2010. Given its name by Elijah on a Rinse FM radio show, and later released on 12" by Planet Mu, it has remained a centerpiece of his and the rest of the Butterz crew's DJ sets. The outro is a perfect balance between high energy club music and jazzy instrumentation. Only available on this limited one-sided vinyl pressing.

"Hold On" is a spacious but melodic garage-banger made popular via Flava D's appearance on the Boiler Room. Across six minutes, she bridges the gap between grime and garage in a similar vein to Royal-T's remix of TRC's "Oo Aa Ee" in 2011. "Home" has been worked by the Rinse FM and 1xtra DJs, and is a punchier 4x4 effort designed for peak-time club action. This Red Bull Music Academy graduate clearly has a bright future ahead.

Highly-anticipated collaborative single between Swindle and Silkie, who have fused their love of retro-funk synthesizers with penetrating basslines. "Unlimited" injects soul and groove into a track that still holds its weight on the dancefloor. Swindle's solo effort "Pineapple" (which featured first on Elijah & Skilliam's Rinse: 17 [RINSE 022CD] collection) bolsters through with a frantic beat pattern and woozy synths, and is definitely a more psychedelic and extroverted trip. Support from Annie Mac, Mistajam, Seb Chew, Ben UFO and DJ Q.

Revisiting TRC's "Skipping Rope" instrumental from the first release in the Butterz White Label series, "I Am" shows Trim on a more laid back vibe then his usual "war monger" approach, but it is one of the best things he has written so far, already strongly supported by a host of big name DJs including Logan Sama, Sinden, Benji B, and Mistajam. On this 12", D.O.K steps out from the background to be recognized as one of the most influential producers around. "Chemical Planet" is an amalgamation of styles that blends Swindle-esque chords with D.O.K's chopped vocal samples. Managing to be both melodic and frantic, this track continues Butterz' strong commitment to championing instrumentals with real structure rather than just 16 bar loops. "Keep On Making Grime" swings with an attention-grabbing looped vocal sample and eerie synths over a halfstep rhythm.

Butterz presents a limited clear-vinyl EP featuring three remixes of Terror Danjah's "Air Bubble." The original version was a main draw on Butterz' first release and featured here is a trio of diverse takes on the tune from Starkey, Swindle and Royal T. After the parts to the song were released on the Butterz blog earlier this year, over 200 producers ended up remixing it. There are only 300 copies released, so this is definitely one for the fast-fingered collector.

Elijah & Skilliams' Butterz label open their vinyl-only white label series with a release from TRC. "Oo Aa Ee (VIP Mix)" has been floating around for awhile between the Rinse FM grime DJs, but is now finally being released on this limited vinyl pressing, with strong support from Logan Sama, DJ Q, Oneman and Ben UFO. "Skipping Rope" was described by Wiley as "an intelligent riddim." "My Empire" brings a heavy dose of the Midlands' bass line for a crafty hybrid.
