These two tracks by Nima Gorji are a crispy, warm and trippy kind of no-shit-tech-house with a twist. "Sometimes" builds up its hypnotizing power carefully, bringing the dancers' tension to the maximum level. "After Summer" is a proper, strong, and well-structured tech-house beat combined with subtle, deep and warm synth sounds. The bass line plays games with the spooky vocal samples and effects.

MUR 014EP

"Nima Gorji returns to the murmur label in the new decade with two dancefloor seducing tracks on Yesterdays EP. A second artist EP for Nima Gorji on murmur, Yesterdays EP unites pure grooves with lashing beats, sedating the dancefloor with 'Forbidden Ritual' and electrifying it with 'Watchin' Out.' On 'Forbidden Ritual,' Nima took inspiration from the Brazilian instrument Berimbau. 'It was used in capoeira,' explains Nima. 'This culture and the its rituals was forbidden in Brazil from 1892 and capoeira was against the law for 20 years until 1918.' These hints of history encapsulate a mysterious aura for the record, and create a spell-binding listen. Taking a more traditional approach for the B side, Nima remarks, ''Watchin' Out' is the kind of a groove I usually work with and pure dancefloor cut.' Nima Gorji has made his mark on the underground dance scene with an array of uniquely mystical productions across many imprints. His productions have now been included on three of murmur's past releases. Based in Ibiza year round, he holds a long-term residency at Space and was nominated as Best Ibiza DJ in the 10th Edition of the DJ Awards."

"September 2008, Nima Gorji is spending 1 month at the house of his friend babalow Baba Ifa Leri Oma in Ibiza. In Cuban Santeria, a babalow is the father of secrets, a shaman, a spiritual guide. The philosophy of IFA was brought by the slaves from Afrika, especially Nigeria, to the Caribbean islands. It became Santeria in Cuba, Vodoo in Haiti, Condomble in Brasil. The Yoruba language is used in the Santeria's books and the ceremonies as chants. Nima assisted some ceremonies where the babalow is cleaning someone's soul, energy, or aura, and established a direct connection with a special energy called orisha. Each orisha has specific attributes like a color, tools, beats, and various patterns of percussion rhythm. Nima is listening to all these beats coming directly from Cuba, he samples some parts, and produces a new EP: Azul Y Verde. 'We Are Blue' is a tribute to Yemaya, the mother of the sea. She represents maternity, fertility, and life on earth in general. Her color is blue and her number 7. The chant is performed by Lazaro Ross a Cuban artist who died in 2005. Lazaro was a legendary Akpwon, or lead singer in the Yoruba tradition. 'Warriors' is a tribute to Oggun, another main orisha. He represents the force and the work of human kind. He is working with metal, and he always carries a knife. His color is green and his number is 3."

"Since he left us last time, Nima have continued his search for the path of wisdom and beauty and left rainy Copenhagen behind in order to follow his dreams and try his luck at the magical island of Ibiza. Finding himself there, he seems not to have wasted his time, instead Nima have secured a residency at one of the island's most legendary clubs, namely Space. One of the first new songs Nima made on the Island is 'French Connection,' a stunningly beautiful Balearic sundown tune, a perfect cross-over track for the transition from chill-out to the first slow but groovy dance tunes of the night. Nima gives us some beautiful words of wisdom on the importance of being in that mysterious and magical moment which is called NOW. This is the secret door into the infinite. This door can only be found through the most intense concentration on being in the present. Yesterday is already a thousand years away and the future is nothing yet but innumerable cloudy dreams of possible potential."
