Pavel Iudin is back on Poker Flat with Framework a new four-track EP. "Framework" is a slinky, crafty burner, built around an irresistible groove. "Echelon'" works around a tightly-woven drum sample before opening up with some beautiful Access Virus synth effects. "Dummy" is an exercise in restrained deepness -- the track has a submerged quality that could work on many dance floors. Last up is "Automotive," another groove-driven cut that uses a minimum of elements without ever feeling minimal. Green and white splattered vinyl.

Pavel Iudin returns with a gripping four-tracker, serving up some serious burners. "Probe 2" is a throbbing, deep roller with shimmering synths and a shuffling, evolving groove. "Halo" has more classic feel to it, clearly a nod to the Chicago masters of the '90s, but maintaining a tough and fresh feel that is all ludin's own. "Probe 3" is more acidic outing - although never resorting to the iconic 303, the track is a lysergic journey into dubbed out tech-house. "Groundlevel" is a driving, loopy groover that uses ludin's feel for atmosphere and tension to the max.

Pavel Iudin (or Paul Yudin, as he's occasionally known in Anglophone circles), a respected resident at St. Petersburg's Stackenschneider club, continues Poker Flat's foray into vinyl-only releases. "Waxology" is a luxurious meditation of precision-engineered deep house, thoughtfully layered with subtle builds and shifts and fine-tuned to send you into head-nodding ecstasy. The circling, bubbling groove of "Tokamak" precedes "Anchor," which contrasts its dubby foundation with echoing chimes, crisp percussion, and shimmering timbres that whizz in and out of earshot. "Charmel" is deeper still -- a heavy dancefloor stomper with a booming kick married to a sinuous bassline.
