FREUDE 007CD

The Gold Retrospective is the essence of five musical experiments, extending the work of Kadebostan on the labels Fenou and Freude-am-Tanzen. The Gold Retrospective showcases 12 tracks that have been released on vinyl from 2007 until 2012 on a gold-covered long player that can be enjoyed on the dancefloor as much as at home. Kadebostan celebrates the fine hand-craftsmanship of deep house and mid- tempo electro. He performs like a surgeon at the heart of ecstasy, and because of his house roots, he has a strange curiosity for "traditional" sounds. Old Arabic songs on harp-infused beats, Italian melodrama filtered through scintillating rhythm, and the deepest ambient techno seasoned with iconic declarations from the '70s. From that you get electronic dance music of true delicateness. Kadebostan never crumbles his catalog of sounds into so much sampling rubble, rather he furnishes appreciation and love through dynamic, thumping garments. Kadebostan has in the last few years reached the major league of DJs and live acts. Our travels take us from the string-abundant bows of Fela Kuti in the opening "Entroducing" to the elegant, snapping impressions from Caracas. For those who are not believers, listen to the great, overflowing "Mon petite Soleil d'Algérie" and be flushed with joy.

FENOU 010EP
|
Kadebostan opens up an exotic sound bazaar on Fenou with The Souk EP. On side A, he charms us with a clarinet, like a snake-charmer decoys the hissing reptiles from a basket. Your hips will sway softly and smoothly under this hypnosis, against a beating rhythm and repetitive bass line. On the flip, he lifts the veil on a world of foreign, magical music -- a miraculous mixture of charming vocals, gentle rhythms, unique guitar and piano scales.

Kadebostan is already a rarity in the cosmos of the electronic music world. His pieces are marked with a unique, yet humble gesture of melancholic tone. He conjures music with the dignity of a proud swan -- the only thing left to wonder at is the soul of the hearer, when it is infected with sounds in the cells of the body, regardless of leisurely or impulsive bent. These are three tracks devoted to club-lust and sensory stimulus.

FREUDE 036EP

Kadebostan's second release features finely composed tonal art which functions flawlessly at home and at the club. Harmonic, graceful and voluminous without an over-produced taste. "Ruff Dancer" measures classic fragments and a driving melodic line along with an opulent theatrical bootlick. "Entroducing Kadebostan" is a melancholy dash of tomfoolery and warmth, while "Hidden Treasure" quietly mixes melodic structures with distant vocals. This 12" thrills the hearing channels and fills the heart.

A new face from Switzerland, fished out of the exuberant CD-R promos. If the FAT-Philistines were to deny the public these wonderful odes, they would surely be drawing a dark cloud over Jena and the label's future would be as cursed as if Frodo had never thrown the Ring into the inferno within Mount of Doom. Beguiling melody structures are demonstrated here with effective clarity, along with Latin-American, feminine vocals. The first track represents South American energy. The second track portrays the optical elements of sunrise and sunset as a listening experience. The last track is true trance without the velocity, unnerving kitsch and overloaded pomp.
