CORR 069EP
|
Alex "Kiwi" Warren returns to Correspondant with a fittingly beautiful full label debut, A Peruvian Dream. The cosmic results speak for themselves: four precision originals, one turbo-charged remix: flavors and essences range from the rippled tubular arpeggio and Balearic pull of "Condor" to the slo-mo struts and shimmering disco twinkles of "Tifock" via the peppy Latino kick and harmonies of "Vicuna". Rex The Dog completes the package in the form of his strident trance-tickled re-thump of "Condor"; this is undoubtedly Kiwi's biggest release to date; it's perfect for the colder club-bound season ahead.

DH 013EP

A homage to childhood years spent in the Scottish Highlands. To mountain biking in Fort William. To nights out in Glasgow and Edinburgh. To "Cha deoch-slàint, i gun a tràghadh" ("It's no health if the glass is not emptied") This is Alex Warren's little nod to Scotland. Disco Halal is delighted to add another genius dancefloor master to the family, Kiwi. "Pine Marten" opens, contemplative and majestic, like highlanders preparing for battle. "Daubenten's Bat" is a bonafide Disco Halal anthem with indigenous vocals and psychedelic woodwinds. Kiwi reworks "Pine Marten" into a peak time, Italo-infused roller.

FBR 048EP

Alex Warren, AKA Kiwi, debuts on Futureboogie Recordings for the label's closing release of 2016. The versatile producer serves up four tracks of deep and driving underground goodies. On his Futureboogie release, Kiwi blends energetic Italo styles on lead track "Orca", whilst "Minke" fuses gnarly technoid house with deft melodies and soft touches. The spatial synths of "Logman's Break" creates a highly infectious earworm of a track and the brass melodies freestyle over a sturdy production, whilst the closing "Pygmy" gets spaced out with tweaking acid bass and moon stomping beats.

London's Alex Warren, aka Kiwi, presents ThrowDown, a cover version of Carmen's cult and in demand 1986 electro funk hit. It comes in two versions, a 4/4 club mix and at the suggestion of JD Twitch, and an updated take on a "Latin Freestyle" mix. Both versions feature full vocals from Ciara Haidar and have "summer hit" written all over them.
