DESOLAT 008LP

Phantom Circle is the second album by Livio & Roby. Music is an art, a journey, a personal exploration. It doesn't start when someone presses play, nor does it stops when someone presses pause. However, with music being thrust upon everyone daily, it is nearly impossible to escape the preconceived notions of how to listen to and discover music. Everyone forgets to interrogate the melodies, to understand the harmonies, to feel the rhythm and connect with its soul. People learn to forget the value of it, simply going by what can be predicted of the musician rather than what we actually hear and feel in the sound. Cue Romanian duo Livio & Roby. Their conceptual album project Phantom Circle challenges the listener to defy the constraints of any preconceived notions. They invite the listener to focus on one thing and one thing only - the music. The audience is invited to listen to 11 original tracks, each of them co-produced with an anonymous collaborator from their "circle" of friends. And there certainly are some impressive names involved: Martin Buttrich, Guti, tINI, Hector, Andrea Oliva, Julian Perez, Cezar Merveille, Enzo Siragusa, Ryan Crosson and Premiesku. The classic Livio & Roby nuances will prevail, of course, but there will be no clear evidence about the "phantom" collaborator behind each track, apart from the music itself. By keeping the mystery on the identity of each co-producer, the duo is challenging their listeners to bypass the involuntary preconception and focus on the essential: listen and feel. Livio & Roby's emotive and mind-moving grooves have put them not only at the top of their homeland's list of nest producers but also at the forefront of the global electronic scene. The experience developed by the collaborators in this album only echoes the magnitude of Livio & Roby's talent, which boils down to their stamp of ambition and courage, consolidated in this project. Above all, this album accentuates their clear intention to enjoy music for itself and nothing else. 3x12" with printed sleeves, poster and slipcase.

Romanian duo Livio & Roby are back with their latest creation on Vakant. Shinichi is a proper two-track EP -- both cuts in an unmistakable Romanian tech manner -- raw, driving and twisted as only inhabitants of the Carpathian Mountains can deliver.

Vakant presents Romanian stars Livio & Roby, the first new artists to join the label since 2008. After cutting their teeth on some of the biggest labels and world stages, Livio & Roby impart their deep, funk-laden grooves on their first record for the perfectionist House of Vakant. "Hatzumoto Song" is deeply organic yet firmly routed in tech funk, floating effortlessly across time and dimension. "Moduri" rides a classic upbeat/downbeat house rhythm while strange synths carry a smile-inducing body motivation.

DESOLAT 012EP

Livio & Roby bring their signature contemporary blend of house music roots and simmering techno to Desolat. "Sunday Offend" is a gutsy tune with a magical, timeless quality. A machine-like groove melts like a popsicle on hot pavement, as distorted Rhodes and bass jostle among vocal samples. "Stapanu Intergalactic" features synth pulses, strings and persistent high hats, creating a subtle urgency. "Tribute" stomps along as synth burbles swing back and forth, and "Garaghivirap" boasts a techy, tribal vibe.
