GIANT 035EP

"As the title 'Legende' implies Paul Nazca, the co-owner of the French Scandium label, likes to play with big gestures -- and this record really lives up to it. This triplet rhythm synth pattern will reign over dancefloors just as if Conan The Barbarian would have sat behind the mixing desk whistling a melody on his war-axe! The Israeli savior of trance, Cocoon artist and 2006 shooting star Guy Gerber translates this call from the corridors of power into a more melody infected after hour hymn -- showing no fear as well!"

Paul Nazca is based in the south of France, and this is his first release for BPitch. The A-side, "Ephémère," is old school in the nicest way, that it's like being on your first pill, ehh... techno party again. The track builds up in different layers -- like a Black Forest cake. "Juste," the B-side, starts in full power right away, with stomping bass drums and clicks and hi-hats. Slowly a repetitive synth facet sneaks in and sneaks out -- eerie, trancy and dark.

BOXER 041EP

"The Cologne-France connection is at full speed again. After Delon & Dalcan, Hoel James and Soon Matzak, it is now up to Paul Nazca to follow his Scandium label partner André Dalcan (Delon & Dalcan) to Boxer. And if we have a look at the statistics, it all looks really promising to us. Not only the ones mentioned above have become widely accepted and appreciated in Cologne, but also the recent French initiative on Kompakt (Oxia, Tom Pooks, Bastien Grine, Steadycam, Florent) was a real smasher. After a three-year break, Paul Nazca came up with his Ranran EP released on F Communications. And now, he presents his second one on Boxer. Starting from the smashing trance hit 'Sleeping,' to the staccato-like track 'Western,' which is a real physical experience and the pure dancefloor burner 'Svell' -- all three tracks prove that Paul has finally arrived in 2006. Zinedine Zidane retires, but Paul Nazca is back! A great deal!"
