WARE 065EP
|
A little over a year after their debut release, Sell & Snackman present greatly unpredictable tracks on Wowa Wowa, perfect for passionate paddlers. Those of you who expected to be served the same darkness as on Zuckerware will be deceived by an initially much friendlier soundscape -- though that's just another trick that the boys from Hamburg pulled out of their hats. Things get pretty rough on this one only to be reconciled by the sound of bells at the end.

"Another debut on Ware -- this 12" bears the camouflage title 'Zuckerware' ('Sugar Ware'), though sweet is really only the first impression. I mean, what are those Sell & Snackmann guys doing? For their first track they come up with a profound bashing sound, the next one is a bit like a neo-dark trance. On side B they have a sad bear dance for disco hedonists until its little legs get all tangled up in this terror track. No one ever shouts: 'Ease the pain!' -- 'cause by then everyone has already succumbed to the special sweetness of Zuckerware contemplating the close relationship of love and pain. The producer behind Sell & Snackman is Rainer Sell. In real life he plays trombone for great bands like The Notwist, Tied & Tickled Trio, Kante, Natalie Cole, Blumentopf, etc."
