TRAPEZ 085EP
|
SLG aka Lukasz Seliga from Poland is an artist with many musical interests ranging from funky techno over experimental electronics to playful funky house. "Lost In Shibuya" was influenced by a trip to Tokyo -- he used acoustic footage of voices and atmosphere to go with his post-Detroit groove. "Bleep Bleep" goes more in the direction of his tight technoid stomper "Caffeine," including not only frenzy tunes and hectic energy but also deep moments.

Lukasz Seliga (aka SLG) has become an international performer, playing live all around the world and redefining what minimal means. The title track "Earthworm" is a true mover -- superbly executed, never silly or brash, moving like a cat in deep grass. "Ssswing" is stringent on the house side of techno, full of joy and with a lively arrangement of sound stabs. Jeff Samuel fans and jack scene members will love to play this song.

CYN 023EP

"SLG aka Lukasz Seliga is one of Poland's rising minimal techno producers and live performers. Hailing from Lodz, Poland, he has been producing electronic music from his early teenage years, focused on performing live sets. Over time, Lukasz gained respect as one of the top minimal-techno performers in the Polish underground. SLG has developed his unique style, blending raw minimal techno, funky grooves, and glitch/IDM-inspired sound design. He tries to avoid monotony and tries to translate different moods into the language of music, while at the same time, keeping his style original. Poland's SLG has been making waves with his last few releases and now delivers his finest work to date entitled the Slapback EP. The A-side, 'Slapback' is a peak time, funk-packed rave destroyer with all the right moves. Shuffled grooves, doubled kick drums, slick edits and a monster hook equals a prime time bomb. Tried tested and true, this cut is sure to raise the roof."

TRAPEZ 076EP

Following the two very fine 12"s Nine Hours and Coffeine by Lukasz Seliga aka SLG from Lodz, the Trapez producers laid their hands on Lukasz beats to provide the label with some cool remixes. The remixes come in two parts and will be released as separate 12"s on the same day. The first record features remixes by Florian Meindl and Bülent Gürler. Florian's "Coffeine" remix is a twisted, jacking peak-time stomper, with an added electro feel. Gürler, on the other hand, offers us a relaxed summer track with great Detroit melodies and a cool breakdown -- this is a perfect tune to hang out and act cool to.

LVL 009EP

"Since his acclaimed debut EP on Level Records in 2005, Slg (Lukasz Seliga) has managed to establish himself as one of the leading producers in Poland. His second EP for Level is strongly influenced by his countless accomplished live performances and is a testament to just how well club and deep music can work together. From the fantastic minimal stomper 'Sixty Six' over the very deep, funky title track 'Invisible' with its deep meandering melodies to the more rave-oriented 'Rain Over Lodz,' Slg presents an extraordinary symbiosis of deepness and functionality. The EP is closed with Anders Ilar's refined reinterpretation of 'Sixty Six.'"

"The second channels records release is by Lukasz Seliga, also known as SLG, one of the most promising Polish producers, acknowledged for his wonderful records published under Trapez & Level Records. As Lukasz takes his place on the train, 'Lodz Fabryczna' gets remixed by the greatest personality of Polish techno, Jacek Sienkiewicz, known for two albums for Cocoon and his own label, Recognition. His mix is a dark and mysterious piece of techno, based on a pumping beat. Jacek uses lots of the original sounds, granting them an entirely different quality, while at the end of the track there is a total change of mood with glockenspiel sounds that lighten up the gloom -- our train is coming to Sopot. 'Sopot' is a lovely sea-side town, so the atmosphere changes completely, showing SLG's musical versatility. The track is prime hit material; a warm, melodious fusion of techno and house. The core of the piece is a dynamic, swinging beat -- SLG's trademark -- entrancing funky bass and atmospheric pad sounds, accompanied by surprising shifts in the way the track's arranged. This time the track is remixed by Mike Shannon, a major Canadian techno artist. His version is more minimalist, based on Shannon's trademark swinging groove, fat subbass, modulated sounds and perpetually evolving synth melodies."

TRAPEZ 070EP

Top Polish producer SLG aka Lukasz Seliga takes his production skills one step further on Caffeine, proving that fine post-Detroit techno can rock the clubs worldwide. Seliga has been experimenting with and producing music for over 10 years, but only recently decided to release it. His perfectionism has quickly gained him respect as one of the top minimal-techno performers in Poland and in Europe. This release fuses polyrhythmic versatility and quick changes in the arrangement with comfortable and warm basslines that are unique in their sound. Both tracks are hypnotic techno groovers with a soulful and deep energy. They move very gently and every step is chosen thoughtfully.

SLG aka Lukasz Seliga is an electronic music producer and performer from Lodz, Poland. He has been producing since his early teens and soon focused on performing live sets. Over the past few years he gained respect as a one of the top minimal-techno performers in his country. SLG developed his unique style, blending raw minimal techno, funky grooves and glitch/IDM inspired sound design. "Nine Hours" is a wonderful post-Detroit techno piece that takes up influences by Robert Hood and Jeff Mills and adds deep moments of silence to generate the power for the strong driving moments in this techno masterpiece. The B-side focuses on the deeper and trippy side of his music and should be interesting for those who like music that sneaks up to your heart.
