"Back with another selection from the Don, one of Digikiller's favorite artists. This one is the only tune he voiced for Bullwackie's, and it is of course killer. Only ever released on a compilation, now on 45 for the first time backed with dub of the rhythm, well-loved from the Love Joy's tune 'Studio Man.'"

"Another previously unreleased bomb on one of the dozens of killer Radics rhythms of the period, this one familiar from other cuts by Barrington Levy and Mystic Eyes. Leroy Smart may be Jamaica's finest ever when it comes to freestyling some simple lyrics on a hard rhythm, yet another piece of evidence here."

"1978 roots reggae album from Leroy Smart repressed on vinyl. Recorded at Channel One studio, Smart's 1978 set features stripped down rhythms and some of his best vocals. Includes 'Have Got To Go,' his version of the 'I'm Still In Love With You' rhythm."

2005 release. Jamaican Recordings present a collection of dub versions of original Leroy Smart tracks, a great bulk of which have never been heard before, until now. Included are dubs of "Mr. Smart," "Jah Helps the Man," "Shame and Pride," "Wreck Up My Life," "Stop the Fighting," and "No Love" (on Horace Andy's "Zion Gate" rhythm). The "Satta" rhythm makes an appearance on a dub entitled "Keep Dubbing Everyday" and Horace Andy's "Money Money" rhythm surfaces as "Underprivileged Dub."

LP version. Reggae singer and producer Leroy Smart, the self-proclaimed Don, carries much respect in the Jamaican musical community. He came through the Alpha Boys School in Kingston that produced the cream of Jamaican artistic talent -- such legends as Don Drummond, Tommy McCook, and Johnny Dizzy Moore, to name but a few. Leroy Smart's talent lay in his vocal attacking style that gives his lyrics and tune that extra meaning. His best work came in the heady mid '70s, working with "The Hitmaker from Jamaica" Mr. Bunny Striker Lee. Bunny put Leroy Smart on some of his best rhythms, starting in 1973 with "God Helps the Man" and "Wreck Up My Life." Other killer hits were to follow such as "Mr. Smart," "Pride and Ambition," "Bad Minded People" and "Mr. Richman." All tracks tell it like it is. Kingston Sounds has compiled all these cuts together, every song a story in itself, told only as Leroy Smart could.

"Leroy Smart's 'Warrior' is one of the best cuts we've heard on the often-versioned 'Green Bay Killing' rhythm. This heavy version was released only on the Jah Life Smashing Superstars compilation LP back in the day, with the dub unreleased and run on dubplate only by Jah Life, Volcano, and some others. The anthemic plea for peace chorus of 'I and I no warrior, I and I no tribalist, I and I nuh fire no gun' reminds us of the Enforcer's 'Pay Them'. On the flip side of 'Warrior' is 'Thief in the Night', Leroy's vocal on the rhythm well-known for Barrington Levy's 'Shaolin Temple.' This tune was previously only released on his Jah Life produced LP, Too Much Grudgefulness. Along with the vocal there is a wicked Scientist dub of the rhythm, as previously released on the rare Jamaican issue of the Scientist Big Showdown LP on Jah Guidance."
