Repressed. Todd Terje continues to buck trends and shuck conventions, presenting here two tip-top reworks of an original that remains unreleased at the time of this release. Four Tet's remix picks out a particularly jazzy path to a distant dancefloor dimension, with a surge of spectral arps, swelling sine waves, shuffling percussion, and the sweet syncopation of off-beat piano, before the Text founder unleashes a booming bassline. Prins Thomas's remix evokes vintage R&S, Dutch electro, and Sheffield bass, pairing an infectious breakbeat with full-bodied subs and a particularly X-rated bassline while fluttering keys blur into the nebulous swirl of dopamine-drenched vocals.

"The morning dew is courtesy of Dixon and Luke Abbott, who both put their respectively unique touch on 'Snooze 4 Love'. Abbott adds his brush and easel to create an ambient, inventive and absorbing remix. Dixon elbows it in the ribs, he straightens out the thing, loses its fat and makes it fit for his specific dancefloor. Damn, I am jealous of this record." -- Gerd Janson

Repressed. Boasting a star-studded cast from all over the globe, this Olsen blockbuster is sure to leave you excited and delighted after a breathless half hour of fun. Pepe Bradock delivers disorienting mixes of "Inspector Norse" and "Swing Star"; both interpretations bump, bleep, and come on stronger than a tripped-out cheese dream. Joakim embraces his inner diva with a jacking ballroom house rework of "Strandbar," complete with bright vamps and deep bass impact. Eric Duncan delivers the grand finale, hitting the special-FX budget harder than late-career Michael Bay, while the "Strandbar" piano and bassline loop into infinity and beyond.

2016 repress; "Initially Alfonso Muskedunder was just the nickname for my newborn son Alf, but the character soon started leading its own life. Interpreted for this single by a bunch of good people, such as Deetron (jazzy-ish housey-ish), Bullion (main vocal funky Latin house mix... or not. It's vocal though), Mungolian Jetset (acid mambo deep in the forest, quattro formaggio pizza style), and the mysterious Tangoterje (dub mambo especial)." Vinyl artwork by Bendik Kaltenborn and Espen Friberg; mastered and cut by Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering.

It's remix time! Preben just had the time of his life. First he was invited by Frenchman I:Cube to go diamond hunting in his luxury yacht somewhere in the Adriatic Sea. A helicopter sounded, pirates entered the ship. No match for Preben though, he's got a pink belt in capoeira. Wham! He then "borrowed" the helicopter ("Zed's dead"-style) and flew out to Asker, Norway, where Prins Thomas offered him a big bowl of disco stew. How nice. Artwork by Bendik Kaltenborn, as ever. Mastered and cut by the talented Matt Colton at Alchemy Mastering.

2023 repress. Please welcome: It's the Arps! Oslo's magic music-maker Todd Terje has already gained a wunderkind-like reputation on top of being one of the best remixers money can buy. The first release on his own label was created from scratch and solely on the mythical synthesizer ARP 2600. Towering over the assortment is the laser crime scene called "Inspector Norse," which is the finest goosebumps dance music. "Myggsommer" gives away Terje's secret love for quirky exotika, whereas "Swing Star Pt. 1" and its brother have a (Balearic) brilliance and witchery to them. Housed in a beautiful sleeve courtesy of Bendik Kaltenborn.

2015 repress. Todd Terje's fourth 12" on Olsen finds him going back to his roots with two extended sparkling synthesizer adventures for club use. "Spiral" and "Q" preceded the mastermind's 2014 debut album It's Album Time (on which none of the tracks appear). "Spiral" is exactly the kind of percussive-driven crescendo cut that would have had discerning discos of yesterday hitting their roofs -- luckily, the dancefloors of today are none the wiser while spiraling into bliss. "Q" is a 12-minute trance-not-trance epic that makes use of cowbells, fosters distortion as a stylistic device, and features a prominent melody that won't leave your brain any time soon.

2015 repress. Todd von Terje dives into summer with a new single entitled "Strandbar," following '90s tradition by featuring three versions of the same piano-based idea, bringing in both a "samba," "disco" and a "bonus" mix. The samba mix is a percussion cacophony with a busy beat tailored to make your limbs loose, the disco mix is what Terje would've played IF he'd been asked to program the music at the Virgin space shuttle, and the bonus mix is... a bonus mix.

2024 repress. Originally released 2011. You've been touched by the hand of Todd. Todd Terje, that is. The first edition of this comes in super-nice recycling sleeves -- the second edition in not-so nice sleeves. Trans-dance from the Norwegian chief inspector with greatysh hypnotism, properysh beats and a lovelysh Terjerine dream to round it all off. Vinyl contains some hidden tracks and extra elements. Cannot stop listening to it.

Repressed. This huge hit has been out-of-print for a long time -- now BACK IN! Playing Todd Terje's "Eurodans" is like experiencing a full dancefloor in a minute. On the flipside, there's the equally-pumping "Italian Stallion," an excellent homage to the land of sunglasses, fast cars and Speedos -- Baldelli would be proud of this one. Raise your glasses.

Here comes the vinyl sampler from Todd Terje's 2CD album Remaster Of The Universe (PERMVAC 055CD). First we have his fabulous acid-ish remix of the classic "Pop Muzik" track by M, and two exclusive remakes that he did under one of his million aliases. So it came that Chuck Norris gives the Ace Of Base hit "All That She Wants" the Sly & Robbie treatment and Cajmere's "Perculator" gets polka-rized by Kacic Kullmann's Five.

The lean, mean remix machine of Oslo aka Todd Terje, is finally compiling his finest work on this two disc compilation. And just to be a nice chap, he also remade half of his catalog as a bonus. Just for you! Remaster Of The Universe contains his best remixes, his worst re-edits, half a dozen exclusive re-remixes, plus more. Following a string of celebrated releases leaning on everything from kitschy Euro sounds to dub disco and psychedelic house, Todd Terje has made his mark within dance music circuits. Gems such as the cheese anthem "Eurodans" and the Latin disco-fuelled edit of Jacko's "Can't Help it" under his Tangoterje edit-moniker instantly made industry types and clubbers alike go bananas, and made him everybody's darling, from Gilles Peterson to Pete Tong. Artists include: Reverso 68, M, Chuck Norris, Simon Baker, Chaz Jankel, Duliatten Disco Dandia, José González, Felix Laband, Percussion Break + Shit Robot, Mungolian Jetset, Fox N'Wolf, Dølle Jølle, Gichy Dan, Rogue Cat, Kacic Kullmann, New Mjøndalen Disco Swingers, Antena, and Studio.
