ECHOCOL 042EP
Echocord Colour present with a four-track EP from Eindhoven's Albert Van Abbe in the shape of Klangbilder. "Klangbilder 1" leads with a robust rhythmic drive, employing bumpy toms, shuffled hats, and lumpy kicks at its core with drones and menacing pizzicato strings throughout. "Klangbilder 2" takes things deeper, retaining the dusty drums sound of the previous cut whilst stirring in airy ethereal pads and resonant stab sequences. "Klangbilder 3" blends modulating synth whirrs, emotive organ tones, and muted drum tones before "Klangbilder 4" closes the set, taking things beatless and cinematic via emotive synths and droning subs.

TROLLDANS 003EP
John Bauer's ancient Mountain King, featured on Ostinato's cover, has been dwelling on top of the mountain for so long that he himself has become part of it. His back is bent and his eyes are dim. But the air is getting clearer and crisper and alluring melodic fragments are floating through it. Suddenly he is overwhelmed by the urge to stand up. The forest itself senses the King's intentions and starts pulsating with rhythms, urging him on. He raises his head, breathing deeply. Albert van Abbe manages to convey this sense of determination and clarity with his Ostinato EP.

CURLE 042EP
This is Albert Van Abbe's first release outside of No Comment. The Sugar Lobby Series counts three numbered tracks. "9191" is definitely peak-time stuff, "9090" is deeper but Kangding Ray turns that one into a dark monster, too. "9390" concludes the EP with atmospheric off-beats, to cool you down again.
