Following Vincenzo's astonishing album Wherever I Lay My Head (DES 016CD/LP), Dessous continues the story with three new remixes. Tom Middleton, the legendary producer behind The Jedi Knights, Global Communication and Cosmos, hands in a modern deep techno remix of "Sometimes Saturday" that shimmers with melody and dubbed-out echoes. Genius Of Time rework "106 Downtown," adding sensitive, detailed downtempo beats with some wonderful, warm, swirling vibes. Finally, Mic Newman presents his very own dub remix.

Vincenzo will release his next full-length album in 2011, and the first single to be featured is the breathtaking The Clearing. Beautifully warm and overflowing with atmosphere, this anthemic modern ode swirls and builds with incredible depth and clarity. The dub version works the groove further with a straighter edge and an even later-night theme. Ian Pooley's remix pays tribute to the power of the original, while cutting up some old-school flavors and laying down that classic Pooley key-led funk.

1998 release. Berlin-based DJ and producer Vincenzo Ragone's debut solo album is an acid-tweaked club masterwork that gained worldwide attention and established Vincenzo as an internationally respected producer. Vincenzo's serious interest in music began as a teenager, listening to hip-hop and other styles of black music. Later, in the late '80s, when acid house reached Europe, he was infected by the sound and energy of this new type of club music. He started out his DJ career playing at small clubs and private parties and soon Vincenzo found himself involved in the Hamburg club scene. "The album establishes Vincenzo's reputation as a worthy contender amongst international house producers." -- 365Mag

Vincenzo presents "The Phantom Image," his alias and name-sake for more techy workouts. Seamlessly melding classic acid-house and techno beats with up-to-date, futuristic sounds, these two cuts wander into tougher, tool-y territories. "Thizz Izzz" introduces a strong, tweaking, future-acid vibe that slowly evolves, coupled with a super-sub bass line for a monster dark room jam. "The Lab" is an earthy, rolling techno jam whose melodic synths fit between solid and tactile analog beats.

This is Vincenzo's first-ever release on the Poker Flat imprint. "The Phantom Image" is a teasing, acid-tweaked club tool, stripped and refined. It burns slowly from both ends and builds in classic style. Flip over, and you'll find two more seriously deviated cuts, in the form of Steve Bug's edit of "The Fruit Fly," and Vincenzo's original mix. Both mixes raise the intensity from the late-night tripping atmosphere straight into peak-time, Poker Flat-style.
