Wedge's new release Like No Tomorrow makes for an unholy trinity of Wedge albums in the Heavy Psych Sounds Records back catalog. The Berlin-based power trio once more is driving their musical Wedge in between many different genres: Garage rock turns progressive while psychedelic guitar lines are tripping over hard rocking riffs. For fans of Deep Purple, MC5, Led Zeppelin, or Humble Pie this album is a sure shot. But unlike beloved rock records from around 1971, Like No Tomorrow has one huge advantage: It's brand new and the eight tracks, ranging from three to nine minutes, deliver a fresh, unspent and unmistakably unique taste to the rock n' roll menu. In the tradition of bands like The Raconteurs, The Hellacopters, Graveyard, or Wolfmother, Wedge are building on that vintage vibe we all know and love but evolve their very own thing and are able to connect it directly to here and now. Lyrically the tunes are picking up on our zeitgeist, dealing with topics like digitalization, mass migration, and current social issues among others.

LP version. Wedge was formed in early 2014 by Kiryk, The Holg, and David, three dedicated musicians and party pals from Berlin, Germany. Named after the first ever stone tool created by the hand of man the group's sound is simple, raw, effective and causes fire if operated the right way... especially live! But besides being a high energy rock n' roll locomotive, Wedge is also capable of writing very catchy original material which, other than with many other bands of that genre, easily meets the standards of their heroes from the psychedelic late '60s and hard rockin' early '70s. So turn on your stereo and check out some tunes here. This debut album, originally released in 2014, features the German classic, vintage, retro rock sound of Wedge. It's a small gem for lovers of Kadavar, Captain Beyond, The Who, Cream, MC5, and all the retro rock scene. Includes one bonus track, "Turn Back Time".

Following the buzz of Wedge's debut (2014), the group now unveils their eagerly awaited follow-up Killing Tongue... and it truly kills. Although also deeply rooted in the rock n' roll of the late '60s and early '70s, this album clearly is a strong progression from its precursor, presenting a multicolored spectrum of sounds and more diverse songwriting. Power trio, untypical arrangements and instruments like electric sitar, clavinet, and harpsichord among others, are accompanying especially some of the new psychedelia soaked tunes. But of course you can expect plenty of good old fuzz guitar and Hammond organ driven material as well. Killing Tongue was recorded and mixed at LowSwing Studios in Berlin by Guy Sternberg and mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering in California/USA. Killing Tongue is the sophomore album for this Berlin based vintage retro '70s band. RIYL: Led Zeppelin, Wolfmother, Deep Purple, The Raconteurs, Humble Pie, The Black Crowes, Black Sabbath.
