"Desire" sounds dark in the hands of GummiHz aka Alexander Tsotsos. As restrained as ever, GummiHz lets the tension build while static rustles in the underbrush. A gravelly voice mutters "desire" over and over, and it's clear that this is a psychodrama of the bleakest kind. "Hypnotize" bases a menacing melody on the tritone (aka the "devil's interval"), but a nimble bass line and a sprightly beat counterbalance the creepy-crawly high end. Keep your eyes on the pendulum and let go.
