2017 repress. Intrigued By The Drum EP sees the London-based producer explore evolving rhythms and electronics. While the tone stays relentlessly tribal, Ploy variates on the theme. The opening track's dread is balanced out by the warm, colorful strings on "Zoom", whist "Blow Poke" bounces with frenetic propulsion. The EP concludes with "Bad Seed", where a sultry groove is programmed alongside the wooziest of pads. All four tracks showcase Ploy at his most subtle and accomplished, it's well worth the wait.
