The original records come from the collection of esteemed Duke Jens-O-Matic, a graphic artist, internationally acclaimed DJ, collector and hunter for decades. What does a friend of obscure 7" do when he already has everything in the field of rhythm and blues etc.? He looks for other fields of activity. Other countries, other music, other influences. Just like Jens-O-Matic. He took a little trip around the world for Voodoo Mambosis, incorporating his new love of cumbia, mixing in a pinch of voodoo, reactivating some old blues heroes and adding some exotica -- that never hurts. The great art now is to combine these disparate elements on paper in such a way that something unique and thoroughly exciting is created. Voodoo Mambosis And Other Tropical Diseases is the best example of this!
