"3. Ahhh already takes us to the end of our frenetic trilogy, which also comprises the noisy 1. Grrr and the fragmented 2. Tok. Staying true to the series' sound-sorting logic, 3. Ahhh features Otomo and Tétreault in a calmer, more soothing mood (no kidding!). At their own slower pace, these improvisations unfold following a linear progression. Volumes and velocities are scaled down intensity-wise, rubbings are singing and silences highlight some delicate gestures played on and with an instrumentarium already tested on 1. Grrr and 2. Tok. The listening is different but the sound quality is preserved. Grab it now to complete the trilogy." Martin Tétreault: turntables, objects; Otomo Yoshihide: turntables, objects.

"In the spring of 2003, Martin Tétreault and Otomo Yoshihide toured part of Europe in a 15-date, 16-day marathon. Out of these improv concerts, six were captured on various media : CDr, dat and minidisc. The thought of preserving these moments came naturally to the ears of our two turntablists and was motivated by the renewed pleasure of playing together and of course by the quality of the music, which, night after night, explored new forms ranging from sonic economy to something much harsher. On this second installment in a planned trilogy, they present the most fragmented on the very apt title 2. Tok." Martin Tétreault: tourne-disques, objets; Otomo Yoshihide: tourne-disque, objets.

Dianne Labrosse: échantillonneur, Martin Tétreault: tourne disques. "This improv duo creates a new generation of Parasites! Labrosse has given up referential phrases and works only with abstract elements while Tétreault has abandoned the use of LP's and turned to the turntable's intrinsic sound potential."

"An electrifying duet felt through strumming, striking, pecking, scouring, polishing, stirring, thinking, in short, through hard working."

"First recording by the Nova Scotia guitar duet which compiles a series free improvisations, presented as is without editing. Arthur Bull (guitare semi-acoustique, slide, ebow, guitare preparee); Daniel Heikalo (guitare acoustique et classique, guitare preparee, cistre, percussion, voix)." Organic free flow, with serious sound awareness (Bull has played with John Oswald, MIchael Snow, etc.) and percussive imagination, should appeal to fans of the Sun City Girls, No Neck Blues Band, (and other disciples of Jesus, Our Lord).

"The meeting of two sound-worlds, the drums and a double bass; loud behemoths that can assume a lace-like delicacy. Improvisational writing that just manages to keep intensity and fragility separated."
