Triple LP version. Created over the span of two years, Balance 032 marks a creative high point in the career of Madrid-based artist Henry Saiz, and this marks his third appearance for the hallowed compilation series. Spread over an expansive three discs, it has given him the space to curate a truly stunning odyssey of creative expression -- one influenced by everything from AI to his recent ADHD diagnosis. As ever, he has gone above and beyond to ensure that the mix is crammed full of exclusive, unreleased material, both from himself and many of his favorite producers and collaborators, from unknowns through to household names. Created in Ableton, which he uses for his DJ sets due to its unlimited creative functionality and precision, the mix makes great use of many effects, layerings, and production techniques to enhance the beautiful sounds that lie within. A deep and spacey feel early on with plenty of dubby touches gives way to meatier sounds, psychedelic tones woven into the heavier rhythms as the tempos gradually creep upwards and elements of trance abound through a flurry of Saiz exclusives. A grandstand finish is guaranteed by way of his incredible chugging-based rework of Moonlight Wolves' "Mantra," the light dreamy beauty of Henry Saiz and Somfay's "To Steal a Star from The Night," and the intense synth overload of H. Haze's "La Fuerza." A perfect end to a truly remarkable body of work. Featuring Hal Incandenza, Efferent, RQS, Eloy, True ZeroX, Guillermo Medín, Robert Feltman, R.I.P Bestia, Romina (ARG), Karmon, Röyksopp, Genius of Time, Milio, Bostro Pesopeo, Wil Mancia, , Brassica, Eden Burns, Rollin & Josh Wetherington, Frømme, Marshall White, Miss Melera, Damabiah, Gonzalo Aranda, Space Dimension Controller, Imalgi, Moonlight Wolves, Big Zen, Wa Wu We, NVSBL, Kris Omen, Voiski, Aurora Halal, Adwer, Polygonia, NorB & juSt b, and Planetary Assault Systems.

Double LP version. Following 2023's acclaimed, chart-topping mixes from Henry Saiz, and Tim Green, Balance have enlisted the services of two masters of their craft in Dave Seaman and Quivver to curate their next mix compilation release. Style and substance joined at the hip. With Balance Presents Dave Seaman & Quivver, both artists have reached out far and wide to their producer friends to pull off a real coup. Every track is exclusive to this release -- not one track has previously been released. If that's not enough, the pair have added five exclusive collaborative productions, making this release is a perfect snapshot of where Dave Seaman and Quivver are musically right now. The lead single from the album, "Make This Disappear" features experienced vocalist Quivver on lead vocals -- and even has Dave Seaman making his debut behind the mic contributing backing vocals. A first after more than three decades of making music. There is also particular excitement about Dave Seaman's highly sought after, previously unreleased remix of Underworld's "Low Burn," which gets its long overdue release here. Exclusive tracks come from some of the hottest electronic music producers, from the fabulous Einmusik, through to Robert Babicz, Gai Barone, Dee Montero, Timo Maas, and the wonderful Just Her, amongst many other quality artists. Also featuring Charles Webster & Ursula Rucker, DJ Counselling, Murat Uncuoglu, Enamour, Carlos Barbero & Dom Fricot, Four Candles, Kamilo Sanclemente, Anthony Pappa, Jamie Stevens, Alice Rose, Aikon, Stas Drive, Ben Archbold, Paul (AR) & Capri, pølaroit, Jepe, Stas Drive, Axel Giova & Larrosa, Floormagnet, Chicola, and Ron Flatter.

Double LP version. After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Balance Music's legendary main compilation series returns for its 31st volume with an absolute stunner courtesy of UK DJ and producer, Tim Green. As well as some quite remarkable exclusive original productions, he also includes eight of his own edits in this expansive mix. From the blissful opening of Tim's own "Time Doesn't Have to Heal", this is a deeply sensual mix. From pared-back, ethereal, slow-moving beginnings, the mix picks up emotional pace with the delicate guitar arpeggios of Ranta's "Valor", and a tribal lilt in the groove creates urgency in Travertia's "Auwald". His edit of Serious Dancers "Callahan" injects heavenly optimism with its deft piano lines. The playful, mystical, swung melodies of Synesthesia's "Obbie" segue perfectly into the gently spine-tingling "Playces" by mredrollo, shifting the gears up once again around the 45-minute mark as the mix begins its "come-up" phase. His own "Eteri" is one of the mix's true highlights; a brooding, chugging stunner led by a driving bassline and the beautifully melancholic sequence a chime melody. Slang & Technodreamer's "Pad Destroyer (mredrollo Remix)" lays on a stirring string arrangement and brings levity with it, bringing disc one to a magical close (in the physical version). More Tim Green exclusives form standout moments in the second half: "It's Only Lightning"; is a rush-inducing whirl of tingly synth melody, and the dark driving trance-tinge of "Monster It". His edit of J'EAN's 'STAAHP' seethes with dubby techno energy, urging us towards his sumptuous collaboration with Sebastien Leger, "Duel" to begin the killer crescendo that rounds this mix off. His new remix of Underworld's classic' "Two Months Off" is a tremendous and respectful rework, the lilting guitars, and soft tones of his edit of Axel Boman's "Chestunt Heartsprite" are a pure delight, and the sumptuous piano chords of his edit of Deividas Bagdanov's "Champagne" is a fittingly beautiful ending. Double-LP features: Underworld, Tim Green, Sébastien Léger & Tim Green, Ranta; includes download code with full mix; gatefold sleeve.

Double LP version. Includes download code with the mixes. One of Europe's most in-demand electronic music engineers turned star in his own right, Hannes Bieger's no-shortcuts approach to making wondrous melodic house and techno makes him an ideal candidate to provide a truly special mix for the long-running Balance series. Comprised of all-exclusive music from Bieger, well-established scene legends like Gui Boratto, Victor Ruiz, and Rodriguez Jr. also feature. Bieger wastes no time in getting down to business, whetting your appetite with the throbbing bass, jagged synths and heavenly vocals of "The Butterfly & The Bee", a collaboration with French-Lebanese producer Yet More. Tripolism's "Volta" segues in beautifully, with more dulcet female vocals adding a sweetness to the chromatic bassline scales and squelching synth mutations. ALX's "Beyond Light" draws in a hypnotic arpeggio that pulls teasingly in-and-out of focus while snatches of rasping synths cut through the darkness, and Bieger's "Alluvium" goes into deeper territory, channeling golden era trance with its sorrowful lead line -- but keeping things restrained with its introspective feel. Acidic bass pressure abounds on Rafa Silva's 'Prosodia', the moody vibe intensified by bold, heavily reverbed snatches of arpeggiated melody, before Thies Dry's "Nomad" comes through like a sledgehammer with its intense blasts of buzzing bass and fizzing white noise. Jason Lange's stunning "Nebula" sends tingles up the spine with its endlessly modulating, intricate melodies, leading into the blissful vocals, scintillating bit-crushed arpeggios and acid squelch of Bieger and Luna Semara's glorious "Lose Control". The second half of the mix is comprised exclusively of tracks by Bieger himself. His collaboration with Rodriguez Jr. "Orca" pulls you into a deeper place once again, but still heady pitch-bending melody abounds on this dreamy workout, while "Embers" is a pure scene-setting, brooding, atmospheric mood piece. The masterful Gui Boratto lends a hand on the spectacular "Requiem", featuring one of the mix's most memorable riffs and a lot of apocalyptic big room energy, and Hawaii's Olivia Foxglove weighs in on the dizzying riffs and techy rhythms of "Lucid Dream". It's left to Bieger & Victor Ruiz's "Virtual Love" to close the mix in triumphant fashion with its rousing chord progressions and intense climax of thick, resplendent synth tones. The mix has the curious and pleasing effect of warping time. Each track is a journey within itself, and when painstakingly fused together, their ebbs, flows and mutations give the impression that a considerably longer time has passed than 77-minute runtime.

All Else Fails is a stimulating odyssey to anyone listening. Harmonically dense, arcadian glistens seep throughout the ten tracks, each complementary to the next. Bask in the wistful iridescence and you won't be disappointed. Also features remixes by John Beltran, Yui Onodera, ELWD, and Heathered Pearls. Stelios Vassiloudis enters an inspiring new phase as he unveils his sophomore LP, All Else Fails. Hailing from Athens, Greece, Stelios Vassiloudis poses a triple threat as a composer, producer, and DJ. Having been active in the electronic music scene since the early 2000s he has cultivated his own brand of distinctive ambience reflective of his rich and diverse musical background; transcending the dancefloor via an emotional narrative of complex soundscapes, intricate harmonies and hypnotic rhythms. Over the past decade Stelios has released music under various other monikers, yet this new endeavor is his most diligent to date -- allowing him to rediscover his love for making music during the process. Ten years on from the release of his debut LP, Stelios's detail-oriented offerings remain incomprehensibly thought-provoking and thorough with this new album. Noticeably dissimilar to any previous efforts, Stelios consciously took a step back from the pressure of maintaining a steadily flowing supply of functional, club-oriented music and as the world stood still amidst the pandemic, he embraced the opportunity to reconnect and express himself with a broader musical vocabulary. All Else Fails is a stimulating odyssey to anyone listening. Harmonically dense, arcadian glistens seep throughout the ten tracks, each complementary to the next. Bask in the wistful iridescence and you won't be disappointed. Stelios carved his way into electronic music by traversing around the globe as a DJ and performer -- performing at intimate underground bars in Beirut, festivals in Miami, after-hours in Tokyo, beaches in Goa and mega clubs in Argentina. Having developed a formidable discography on esteemed labels such as Bedrock, Poker Flat, Ovum, Constant Sound, and Darkroom Dubs, among others, Stelios' studio prowess and coveted productions cemented his reputation as a versatile and acclaimed artist. His intense passion and drive for innovation in music serves as the fuel to keep him inspired and relevant, qualities that no doubt ensure his reputation as an artist of the highest caliber, will endure. Includes bonus exclusive digital download code.

Double LP version. The Swedish Vivrant label founder, DJ, and producer joins the revered Balance Presents series. Since its inception in 2015, Jeremy Olander's label and event series, Vivrant, has become one of the most intriguing platforms for the melodic house and techno sound. With this long overdue project, Olander is bringing two discs of exclusive music from himself and friends. Includes individual tracks downloads and mixes.
Olander on the release: "Balance Presents Vivrant encompasses what the label sounds like in 2019 and beyond . . . 70% of the music is unreleased stuff from me that I've only played in my sets and music that would typically stay unreleased, or completely new stuff I've made specifically for this album . . . I approached the first side as I would the first few hours playing an open to close set at a club. The atmosphere and vibe are stripped down, the drum patterns are different from what I would play at peak time . . . The first three tracks are new originals under a new name I came up with for this compilation specifically. The fourth track is a remix I made of one of my older unreleased tracks called 'Dharma' that never ended up being released. After that is something Vivrant associate Marino Canal sent me, which is a collaboration with a friend of his called Miguel Payda that I felt fit perfectly into the mood. It's followed up by an incredible new Tim Engelhardt track called 'Timing'. Tim is one of the best, and most prolific producers of his generation, and including him on this project, was a given . . . The second side mimics more of a typical peak time set from me compressed down to just over an hour. This side has a few curveballs as well. I was really lucky to have some of the producers out there that I admire the most offer up unreleased music for the project, like La Fleur, Locked Groove and Ejeca. Sanna's 'Second Story' is a groovy stomper that brings a cool change of pace and contrast in the mid part of the mix before I transition back to some more melodic bits with Tim Engelhardt's second track called 'Papillon' . . . I also wanted this album to shine a light on some new up and coming talent, and that's reflected in the tracks from A Friend of Marcus and Carl Dern. Carl's track 'Eyes Up' has been a staple track in my sets lately..." Also features J.Singh and Dhillon.

Double LP version. Includes download card. In the space of just a few years since its inception, Nick Warren and his partner Petra's globetrotting concept The Soundgarden has grown to encompass a label, compilations, parties around the world, and a global radio show. From being one of the early defining pillars for progressive house in the mid-90s through to his beautiful work as one half of Way Out West, Warren is an electronic music mainstay. Bringing two discs of exclusive music, Warren explains: "On this album, I wanted to showcase some of my current favorite artists and reflect the more eclectic sound of The Soundgarden. I feel the secret with compilations is to try and choose music which has almost a timeless feel to it." On Rigooni's "Dreamed Numbers" gets the mix off to an early chug with its delicate plucked melodies and rolling groove, leading into the graceful strings of Bigasti & Balad's "With You". Aspen recalls Airdrawndagger-era Sasha as the mix find its feet unhurriedly. An exclusive Nick Warren & Nicolas Rada original "Balance" yields shimmering atmospheric touches and slivers of plucked guitar, with more musicality displayed through the melancholic piano chords of Draper's "Crystal Voyager". The mix continues to twist-and-turn through Emi Galvan's soaring "Embrace" and the arpeggiated groove of Baunder's "38 & 46" and Yoni Yarchi & Daniel Van Der Zwaag's "From Tel Aviv to Amsterdam" brings the mix to a blissed-out climax. The slo-mo graceful, slinky chug of Six's "Berlin" helps to get disc two going in more mellow tempo, with the chord stabs of Black 8's "Black Tiger" giving an almost Detroit feel to this early hypnotic section. The tempo builds as the haunting vocal of Dmitry Molosh's "Note" glides over percolating percussion. Another shimmering Nick Warren & Black 8 production "Dreamcatcher" arrives to give a contrast to the deep, introspective atmospheres that precede it. The languid funk of Eli Nissan's "Restricted Delusions" pushes the listener into a deeper state, before Audio Junkies & Hernan Cattaneo's remix of Stillhead's "Neu Kobenhaven" cuts through in stark fashion with its crystalline chime motif. Oliver & Tom's "Luly" makes for a perfect closer, its sweet xylophone and piano sounds making for a sublime moment.
Also features Aārp, Synkro & Arovane, Scippo, Kamilo Sanclemente, Ewan Rill & K Loveski, Ben Archbold, Nico Szabo, Lerr, Armen Miran, Nichols, and No-No & Nobilis.

Balance presents Sunsetstrip is the next plateau of concept mixes. Featuring tracks by established, and new producers, such as DAVI, Khen, and more, plus a host of exclusive original collaborations, where you'll transverse multiple genres and tempos, all under the steady hands by one of the most highly regarded DJ in the industry today. Lovingly referred to as "El Maestro" by his legions of adoring fans, Hernan Cattaneo has, over the last 30 years, carved a career that eclipses all others. Fascinated by the synth-pop and post punk of the '80s, Hernan quickly discovered the futuristic sounds of dance music coming from Detroit and Chicago. Completely consumed by his new-found love, he progressed naturally to DJing. It was his life-changing residency at the epicenter of Argentinian club culture, Clubland in Buenos Aires, that he was catapulted into the global sphere by long-time friend, Paul Oakenfold. Over the years, his forays into the CD compilation market has enthralled, excited, and energized his fans. From those tentative first steps with Perfecto, through to the golden years of progressive with Renaissance, and then onto his groundbreaking Balance mixes, Hernan has always brought more than just a selection of upfront tracks, and his silky mixing skills. In his own words, Sunsetstrip represents a continuation of his legacy, by marrying his all-encompassing love of the music with his strong work ethic. Painting the perfect sonic tapestry, richly musical nuggets dovetail with consummate ease as El Maestro teases every last drop of emotion from each track. Soon, a malaise of joyous energy hypnotizes you, as you travel with the soulful journeyman into the deepest realms of his imaginations. Disc two sees Hernan in cruise control -- the more familiar side of his DJing. The opening double from Mike Griego setting the scene well, as rubbery bass, and lightly tribal percussions whisk you off to wonderland. Easily shifting through the gears, things really get going midway as the sun sets and the music takes on a different meaning. Balance presents Sunsetstrip is the next plateau of concept mixes. Featuring 33 tracks by established, and new producers, such as DAVI, Khen, Brian Cid, Navar, CID Inc., and more, plus a host of exclusive original collaborations, where you'll transverse multiple genres and tempos, all under the steady hands by one of the most highly regarded DJ in the industry today. From the opening bars of Darpan's "Blessing", you are treated to Hernan in wistful reflection. Also features Hernan Cattaneo, Soundexile, Mariano Mellino, Interaxxis, Landhouse & Raddantze, Iorie, Kymatik, Juan Hansen, Kevin Di Serna & Guhus, Graziano Raffa, Orsen, Bachir Salloum & Memory, Antrim, Mercurio, Anita Alvarez de Toledo, Paula Os, Subandrio, Black 8, Nick Varon, Marcelo Vasami, Ezequiel Arias, Sentre, Collé, and EANP. Double-CD download link includes MP3 individual tracks, MP3 mixes, photos & mini-movie.

It's often said that the gaps in between the notes are as important as the notes themselves. Stereo Underground pays homage to that attitude on his magical debut album, The Art Of Silence, immersing the listener in widescreen atmospherics, succinct, spacious arrangements, and stunning melody throughout. This wonderful record for Balance Music follows previous full-length artist albums on the Australian label from the likes of Clarian and Brian Cid. Born in Haifa, in the North of Israel, the artist otherwise known as Yariv Etzion began his musical life as a drummer, spending his younger years circulating in the city's hard rock scene. He discovered electronic music as a teenager when he moved to Tel Aviv, and soon began working at a record shop and DJing. His popularity rapidly grew, and production soon followed. His output as Stereo Underground began 2009, and in his debut year he received high praise from MixMag and heavy DJ support for his hypnotic, progressive sounds. The project has always shown a great sense of musicality and ambition, and this full-length debut album is the natural culmination of his efforts over the last decade. "An album, in my opinion, is the holy grail for a musician," he says. "I waited 38 years to give myself the peace of mind I needed to do so. It took me ten months of writing, recording, sound design and mixing to create the final result." That meant doing so in both the mental and physical sense. He took the decision to relocate to a wooden house in the countryside to create this stunning album, turning down incredibly high-profile festival bookings plus remix offers and release requests in order to dedicate himself to his vision. It's an admirable approach that has yielded dividends. From the conceptual, ambient tones of opener "Flying Glow (Prologue)" through to the spine-tingling, airy breakbeats of closer "For A Moment Of Truth", this is a record full of slow-burning nuance and hypnotic progressions that induce a dream-like state in the listener. There are mellow piano tones on "The Art Of Silence", Moderat-tinged indie/dance crossover on "Little Red Head", which features Sealine, and trancey euphoria on "Above The Sea Of Fog". "Echoes" plunges into deeper territory and "Breakfast On Mars" gives a hazy, beatless breather mid-way through.

One of the most hotly-tipped leaders of the new school, Uone delivers a stunning two-part mix for the Balance Series that was two-and-a-half years in the making, and is composed entirely of his own material. All 21 tracks come from Uone's production studio, whether it be an original, remix, or collaboration, going above and beyond the usual mix CD remit to create something truly special. The Balance compilation series provided an important formative touchstone in his musical education, with his inclusion in the cannon making for a pleasing full circle. His twin mixes feature reworks of progressive house and trance classics (PQM, Jam & Spoon) and references to his home country's thriving scene from his nascent years via his re-work of the highly-revered, once-mighty electronic band, Infusion. Collaboration is a defining factor here with the majority of the tracks created in partnership with other esteemed producers. Uone has mastermind collaborations with the likes of Jay Haze (aka Fuckpony), Adam Freeland, Mihai Popoviciu, Mojo Filter, Jamie Stevens, Jonas Saalbach and Flow & Zeo along the way, making for an acutely diverse melting pot of ideas. The first disc slowly builds from mystical vocal excursions using organic instrumentation, which eases us in before the metallic bass tones of "Animal Kingdom" alongside DJ Schwa raises the intensity. The rhythms switch from techno to house as the pumping groove of his and Andreas Henneberg's remix of Infusion's "Spike A Drink" sends the mix into the next gear. An excellent remix of Schlepp Geist's "Those Days" by Flow & Zeo brings us to an ethereal crescendo. The second disc aims directly at the dance floor, opening with the brooding power of Uone & Danny Bonnici's remix of Luke Chable's classic "The Shepherd." Majestic vocal turns from Philosophia and Sleeping Genie then breeze in to breathe in evolving emotion to the mix. Bold strings continue to cut through on "Good Morning Sunshine" with Thankyou City, before the mix drives us towards the epic chants of Uone & Jamie Stevens' rework of Jam & Spoon's "Odyssey to Anyoona," one of the jewels in the crown of this mix. A wonderful remix of Monolink's Sirens completes the journey, with its mesmerizing indie-dance energy a fitting closer.

Double LP version. Includes MP3 download of the mix. Max Cooper's blend of the artistic and scientific schools of thought have steadily built him up to become one of the standout electronic musicians of his generation. His left-of-center approach makes for a truly timeless mix for the 30th edition of the Balance series. Cooper emerged from Nottingham's club scene in the 2000s, holding down a residency at the city's influential Firefly nights where he played turntablist sets across six decks with his fellow resident. From there he became an eminent producer of brooding, densely melodic techno. He has since turned into a more multifarious artist who borders experimental electronica, ambient, and IDM within and alongside his dancefloor-driven output. Wearing several hats these days -- DJ, producer, label owner with his burgeoning Mesh imprint, creator of art installations, consultant for new technologies -- he is a veritable polymath. On a technical level, the mix is drenched with subtle detailing, editing, rearranging -- even binaural processing only audible on headphones that appears to make sounds move around the listener's head in all directions. Exclusives come in the form of Coopers's own "Balance (Perc Tool)" -- self-explanatory -- and the blissful depths of "Music Of The Tides", constructed using an intricate binaural particle cloud simulator plugin created by Rob Clouth. Clouth also provides three other tracks on the mix. New English act Brecon provide sumptuous broken beat electronica on another exclusive, "Half Light", and Cooper's remix of Nils Frahm's Juno-60 based live jam, "For", which finally gets an official release. During this incredible 118-minute odyssey you'll hear field recordings, brooding soundscapes, hypnotic piano modulations, deep atmospheric techno, heavenly melodies, glitchy electro-pop, hazy ambient passages, ravey breakbeats, glitchy drum & bass, and even some Thom Yorke (Atoms For Peace). Also features Ben Lukas Boysen, Bing And Ruth, Kimyan Law, Com Truise, Alix Perez, and Vaetxh.

LP version. 180 gram vinyl; Includes download code. Canadian DJ/Producer Clarian presents his highly anticipated debut album, Television Days via Australia's Balance Music. Ever enigmatic and distinctive, Clarian, a songwriter and sound engineer from Montreal, first gained notable recognition by the music scene via his former work in synth pop duo Footprintz, releasing several highly-acclaimed singles as well as Escape Yourself (2013), an album project that was co-produced with Ewan Pearson. Since the release of the aforementioned long-player, Clarian has continued his sonic development, maintaining his imaginative semblance channeling this into his own signature recording techniques and collaborations. Clarian has also collaborated and engineered on several warmly received releases with Guy Gerber, Tiga, and recently Felix Da Housecat. Television Days, influenced by a Casio found under the bed of an Airbnb, was created in Berlin during a tumultuous period and follows the tragic adventures of Kevin Jones, a down-and-out television scriptwriter living in west Hollywood who's obsessed with Carl Sagan's Cosmos and believes he's being contacted by ancient astronauts. This characteristically ineffable theme is matched by the album's equally passionate and otherworldly style, with the long, drawn-out synths on opener "Dedication to Sagan" and the retro-inducing soundscape on "Lost Again" offering a fitting example of what's to come over the album's ten tracks. Other highlights include the album's first single "Under the Gun", a track bursting with lush lo-fi synths and percussion, fused with the almost breathless, reverbed vocal performance from Clarian that nods in the direction of '80s synth-pop works of Mute Records. There's also the atmospheric and colorful "Tulum", the hazy synth-driven "Down and Out", the dystopian sounding "Mote of Dust", and the album's closer, "Television Days", a track where Clarian's dreamy vocals blend particularly well with the melancholic percolating beats. Television Days may be quirky, but it's also a rare glimpse into the state of mind and emotions of Clarian, who himself describes it as "a surreal self-examination of fears and mentalities after several nocturnal years of touring and producing music free to experiment and explore strange and fantastic worlds." Taking notes from the school of the tragic celebration, Television Days is a standout and unique record that both showcases an array of ambient sound techniques as it pays tribute to its love affair for new wave. In the words of Kevin Jones, "let's get deep, let's get rocked."

James Zabiela enters the fold of Balance's compilation selectors. His unfeasibly intricate approach to DJing shines through on this sprawling two-parter, created through a back-and-forth process between his Pioneer DDJ-RZ and Ableton and featuring two exclusive new productions from the man himself. Act One begins with gentle electronica like B12's "Untold" that brings to mind Sasha & Digweed's classic Northern Exposure series, building to the mesmerizing piano crescendos of Grandbrothers' "Bloodflow". Sad City's "Steady Jam", reminiscent of classic Balearic mixes lead you into a section of whirring machinery and sensual acid via Pye Corner Audio's "Dead Ends" fusing with HOLOVR's "Into Light". Second Story & Appleblim's rework of Debussy's majestic "Reverie 68" offers organic tones, with Oddhoody's "The Deep" switching the rhythm into a taut breakbeat under Kraftwerkian synths. The epic melodies continue as Merrin Karras's "Void" swells over the metallic percussion of Pev & Kowton's "Junked" and in the sparse riffs of Davis's "Plenitude". The mix takes on a haunting tone with Ozel AB's "Positronic Dreams" and Courser's sorrowful "Distances", before Zabiela stuns with an exclusive new production, "Vines", created largely with Teenage Engineering's OP-1 synth. AAAA and ARCHITECTURAL take the mix to a satisfying climax before a sudden halt. Act Two mirrors the experience of one of Zabiela's club sets, layered with the additional levels of detail. The sorrowful, bubbling chime arpeggios and indecipherable vocal FX of Goldmund's "Thread" and Earlham Mystics' "Waters" set you off in elegiac fashion, but the rave-y stabs of KiNK's "Radio Slave" remix will lead you to the dancefloor. It's a dizzying mix with myriad styles and moods: Elastic acid via another exclusive track from Zabiela, "X-Ray"; the taut metallic breakbeat of Lanark Artefax's "Touch Absence"; raw '90s house from Redlight's "City Jams"; the ethereal techno of ROD's "Pull"; and a maddening crescendo of warehouse-grade bangers. The mix ends in blissful territory with the dreamy tones of Paper Dollhouse's "Crayons" and J.Mono's Model 500-channeling "Sspses". Also features Sapphire Slows, Kornél Kovács, Barry Lynn, VC-118A, Talaboman, Francisco Branda, Ecco Foul, Island People, OOBE, Steve Hauschildt, Avalon Emerson, Mak & Pasteman, Pisetzky, John Beltran, Lawrence, Lake People, Solitary Dancer, Chambray, Silas & Snare, Truncate, Christina, Plant43, Sinfol, Barbara Ford, Steve Parker, Fabrizio Lapiana, SHDW & Obscure Shape, Ryan James Ford, Benjamin Damage, Mark Henning, Special Request, Wata Igarashi, A Sagittariun, Anthony Linell, Hans Berg, and Sine Sleeper.

Spanish musical genius Henry Saiz provided one of Balance Music's most memorable efforts with Balance 019 (BAL 003CD, 2011), utilizing vinyl, cassette, reel-to-reel tapes, and over 100 field recordings to create an incredible patchwork of sounds. Saiz returns for Balance Presents Natura Sonoris, an expansive mix comprised completely of exclusives from his award-winning label. Saiz has used only exclusive and unreleased tracks from his label family, many specially commissioned for this continuous 140-minute mix. Upcoming releases get a debut airing; favorites get new reworks; and Saiz provides his own new productions. The ghosts of dark '80s electro-pop like Depeche Mode hover in the tortured vocals and dramatic mood of Saiz-penned opener "Lone Wolf". Muted chimes on Hal Incandenza's "Contacto" provide the perfect segue into the marimba arpeggios of Bufi's "Bird Song". Things take a global twist with the African and Latin rhythms and melodies of R.I.P. Bestia and Landikhan and deeper turns via A Friend Of Marcus and Saiz's shimmering remix of Damabiah. Joep Mencke's "Sonder" picks up the energy with its driving beats and strong melodies before Brassica gives the mix a more intense, direct edge, with healthy doses of breaks and acid over two remixes. The mix takes on a more chugging, energetic feel with Marc Marzenit's "The Walrus" and the detuned 8-bit melody madness of Victoria Rodriguez's "Moon On A Bright Day", followed by an ascent into euphoric melody with Brian Cid's "Luminous Black" and Saiz & Tentacle's synth-tastic "The Prophetess". The mellifluous vocals of Saiz's "The Light" get a gorgeous, piano-heavy update from bRUNA, contrasting with Saiz's remix of Sistema's "Entreé", a near-beatless interlude that again recalls '80s emotive melodies. The final third of the mix comprises largely of a masterclass in production from Saiz, such as the glistening chimes of his Petar Dundov collaboration and the warped hooks of his remix of NVBSL's "Woodhouse". It's punctuated by a brooding, sprawling epic from Voltaeric, with the intense sound design and deep atmospheres of Sandman, and closed with another mesmerizing trio of Saiz productions that culminates in the epic chug of "Spiricom (See You Soon)". Throughout, Saiz peppers the mix with samples from his own productions, layering them subtly with other tracks to great effect, ensuring this is a captivating listen that captures a range of moods. Also features: JMII, Tuff City Kids, NVSBL, Eduardo De La Calle, Cora Novoa, and Brynjolfur.

"Global in ethos; South American in spirit." That's how Hernan Cattaneo describes his acclaimed Sudbeat label, founded in 2009 with his friend Graziano Raffa to manage the label. Across a century of releases they have brought the world mesmerizing electronic music from some of the world's biggest producers, as well as fostering countless new talents. "We both think that musical identity is crucial" explains Cattaneo, and it's something that's stamped all over this sublime new double disc compilation comprising entirely of unreleased, exclusive material from the label's roster in collaboration with Balance Music. This compilation digs deep into the Sudbeat network of rising talents from across the globe, unearthing many lesser-known and promising names. With Sudbeat having such a clear identity, putting this compilation together was an organic process for Cattaneo, with pairings and sequencings almost picking themselves. Disc one is a slow-burning, downtempo affair that rounds-up Sudbeat's less dancefloor-focused output. Peak time material it may not be, but is still exudes all the hallmarks of their livelier material, and works just as well on early hour dancefloors, as it does on the beaches, or in a home setting. The mood ranges from Toki Fuko's meditative "An Odor," to the hazy synths of Ian Dillon's "Embers," and through to the sumptuous vocal delights of Oriana Favaro Cattaneo & Soundexile's "Closer," and the melancholy of another of their gorgeous collaborations, "Perpetual (Day Mix)." Big guns like Nick Warren and Henry Saiz provide deep cuts, interspersing the impressive bevy of newer names. Disc two begins in mystical fashion, with the Arabic melodies of Simon Vuarambon & Sidartha Siliceo's "Liberation" segueing into the haunting, glassy synths of Tara Brooks's "Yugen." Snatches of distant, solemn pianos abound on Dance Spirit's "Kaleidoscope"; heady arpeggios reign supreme on Audio Junkies & Lonya's "Ima" and Hernan & Soundexile's lush "Deneb"; chunky groove powers the mix on forwards in Guy Mantzur's "Requiem For Us"; and rousing epics like Cattaneo & Soundexile's "Pressure Drop" and Guy J's "Brothers Vibe", which propel the listener into higher territories. It's a supremely classy collection of tracks that effortlessly blend and blur into one another. Also features: Sahar Z & Navar, Anton Tumas & Eugene Toale, Ben Shaw, Conures, Kevin Di Serna & Ditian, Hernan Cattaneo & Soundexile, Khen, Oriana Favaro, Tripswitch, Konvex & The Shadow, Giddyhead, VERLK, Navid Mehr, Juan Deminicis, Facundo Mohrr & Valdovinos, Chicola, Nick Varon, and Crudito Sava.
