RELEASE DATE: 11/22/2024
2024 repress, 140-gram vinyl, gatefold cover. In 1980, right before the recording of The Gun Club's mighty debut The Fire of Love, Jeffrey Lee Pierce did a handful of solo acoustic recordings based on his fascination for Mississippi Delta blues. And this is what this record sounds like -- Jeffrey Lee Pierce doing a review of the classic blues -- raw, bitter and straight to your heart. These recordings are now released on vinyl for the first time. This album contains a 16-page booklet with previously-unreleased photographs and chronicles from Pierce's friends, speaking about their times and memories with him -- people such as Nick Cave, Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, Gutter Twins), Henry Rollins, Kim Salmon (Scientists, Beasts Of Bourbon), Terry Graham (The Gun Club), Tex Perkins (Beasts Of Bourbon, Cruel Sea, Butcher Shop), Kid Congo Powers (The Gun Club, The Cramps, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Butcher Shop), Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, The Cramps, Sonic Youth, Panther Burns), Spencer P. Jones (Beasts Of Bourbon, The Johnnys, Butcher Shop, Slappers), Steve Wynn (Dream Syndicate), Jeremy Gluck (Barracudas), Jim Duckworth (The Gun Club), Billy Zoom (X), Keith Morris (Circle Jerks, Black Flag), Bob Bert (Chrome Cranks, Pussy Galore, Sonic Youth, Five Dollar Priest), Hugo Race (Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds), Peter Aaron (Chrome Cranks), Dave Graney (Moodists), Tav Falco (Panther Burns), Dan Stuart (Green On Red), and more.

The Hydromatics feature a genuine Detroit legend in the form of Scott Morgan, from Sonic's Rendezvous Band (alongside the MC5's Fred "Sonic" Smith). Morgan formed the Hydromatics alongside Nicke Royale (The Hellacopters) and guitarist Tony Slug (Loveslug) in 1998 and released an awesome debut album in '99 called Parts Unknown that revisited the Motor City rock sounds of yesteryear in the form of a modern-day power punk rawk outfit, which is now finally being reissued. The album starts out with a burning remake of "Earthy" from the Sonic´s Rendezvous Band and it continues to smoke all the way thru. No ballads. Morgan sings his ass off and the band provides much sonic firepower to back up his massive vocal gusto, switching gears effortlessly between kick ass hard rock and smoky soul. It's a potent cocktail for sure and one that fans of this genre would be foolish to pass up on. Not for diehard punk or metal fans, this is a treat best enjoyed by cats who like to rock n' roll and dig the swingin' sounds of the '60s -- albeit as pounded through walls of Marshals and a thick curtain of horns and noise. Absolutely necessary for fans of Sonic´s Rendezvous Band, MC5, Stooges, The Hellacopters, Bored!, and Tony Slug (Loveslug).

The sixth studio album, Matango!, by Western Australian band The Kill Devil Hills is out on Bang! Records. The new album has ten songs, that -- according to the band's own words -- reference "global unrest and displacement, near future scenarios, climate catastrophe, pandemic vortices, the Simpsons, the grace of women, refugees and boat people, Cold War paranoia, the creative process itself, and of course Australia and its peculiar place in things." Matango! had a few different birthplaces over the 2018-19 period: an old house in the hills of Perth, back porches in Fremantle, a Prague apartment, a French country villa in the swelter of summer, and a lonely pandemic piano. A strange and sinewy beast of an album, it's something of a departure from earlier KDH work: minimal, leering with glitching drums samples, synth swells, empty spaces, and a soup of fat bass tones to float it all in. Recording started about two weeks before lockdowns did in Australia, and so everything went into that unique mode of hibernation for a while, but the album beds were largely done, and work eventually recommenced, discovering what was there, reshaping and re-recording some tracks, and throwing in an experimental opening salvo which is largely free of regular instruments, more a montage of samples and textures, written on a piano and then deconstructed into a spectral hiss and wail. The album title obliquely refers to the 1963 Japanese psychological horror film of the same name (directed by Godzilla/kaiju maestro Ishiro Honda).

Expanded reissue, originally released in 2012. The formula is simple: a strong frontman, Nick Vahlberg, a guitar hero, Hans Ostlund, a powerful drummer, Joakim Werning, and a multi-talented bassist and composer, Bjorne Froberg. The Nomads are an institution in Europe after more than 40 years of career. Their last album, Solna was named after the Stockholm neighborhood from which they emerged in 1981, paving the way for the garage rock scene of the time. "Aside from the Pebbles compilations, not much was known about the garage bands of the '60s and many people first heard those great songs in The Nomads version," according to Chips K (famous Swedish producer -- Hellacopters, la Secta -- and member of Sator). "But one thing that distinguishes the band from many other revival bands is that they never just copied the sound of the originals. They added extra influences such as punk, power pop and hard rock. That special recipe is what still makes their sound unique." Bands like The Hellacopters, Maharajas, and Sator are direct descendants of what The Nomads created. They were closer to Australian punk rock and took varied influences to create something completely their own. If they decided to cover something, it seemed like it was their own song. Another aspect that makes them stand out from many of their contemporaries is their chemistry. Live they are like an engine, and in a perfect world, they should have had hit after hit. Anyone who doubts this statement should pick up a copy of the Nomadic Dementia compilation, and it will be clear that we are not just talking about it. The band even accompanied Roky Erickson on a single festival date and the former 13th Floor Elevators' ex-wife paid Hans a huge compliment. "Right after the show, she told me, 'You're the best guitarist Roky has had since Duane (Aslaksen)." The Nomads deliver hair-raising authenticity of rock and roll with unsurpassed purity. Nobody coughs on them or will cough on them. They are still as good as ever. In fact, they are probably even better now. After many years of career, The Nomads produced their strongest album to date. The group perfected their sound, live and in the studio. Solna is the distilled essence of what The Nomads are known for. Edition of 500.

Another classic of The Celibate Rifles, this time a wild live album. A sample of the guitar machinery that deployed this band of Australian high energy punk, raw guitars, wild solos and catchy melodies. A live recorded at the famous NY concert hall, CBGB in 1986, the band is in top form and shows in each of the songs. It includes classics from their first albums and two versions, Only Ones and Radio Birdman. For the first time on vinyl since its release in 1986 by Hot (AUS) and in 1987 What Goes On (UK).

The Zeros is an American punk-rock group formed in 1976 in Chula Vista, California. The band was originally formed with Javier Escovedo (vocals/guitar), Robert Lopez (guitar), Héctor Penalosa (bass) and Baba Chenelle (drums). Often referred to as "the Mexican Ramones," they were just one of many contributors to the city of Los Angeles' punk explosion in the late '70s, although they never received the acclaim like their contemporaries Black Flag, Circle Jerks, or Germs and Wipers. They have more followers and fans outside of the United States, especially Europe and Spain in particular. The label "the Mexican Ramones" did not take into account their other revealing influences: pre-punk and garage-rock bands. The Zeros make it evident on this album, releasing covers of New York Dolls among others. But the originals, for example "They Say (That Everything's Alright)" and "Handgrenade Heart," also exploit the spirit of loud, strident rock. There are also slow and melodic, sloppy and dirty pop songs to satisfy all tastes. The quartet broke up in 1981, reformed sporadically for live shows, and recorded a 1999 album Right Now!. An excellent album. Ideal to have a good time and enjoy good rock.

2024 restock; reissue, originally released in 2006. Gala Mill is considered as Exile on Main Street in The Drones' discography. Gala Mill is the third studio album by Australian band The Drones, which was released in September 2006. Recorded in an abandoned mill in Tasmania, it was their last album to feature founding member Rui Pereira and the first to feature Mike Noga on drums. The music, which makes "an epic leap beyond garage rock", adds influences from folk rock and contemporary folk music to their usual punk blues style. Gareth Liddiard's lyrics for the album are centered more on Australia's colonial and recent history, evident in tracks such as "Jezebel", "Words From The Executioner To Alexander Pearce", and "Sixteen Straws". Much like its predecessor, the album received critical acclaim from sources both within and outside Australia, with much of it centered on the album's raw musical style and Liddiard's dark lyricism. In 2014, Flavorwire included the track "Sixteen Straws" on their list of "The 50 Best Album Closing Tracks Ever". In 2021, Rolling Stone Australia listed Gala Mill at number 155 on their list of "The 200 Greatest Australian Albums of All Time" (one of two Drones albums on the list). New sleeve artwork.

Tyla is an English rock musician, best known for his work with The Dogs D'Amour as well as an extensive solo catalogue. Not only performing vocals, guitars and other instruments, he also illustrates the album covers in his own recognizable style. Libertine is his second solo album and it was recorded and released only on CD and in the UK in 1996. Now for the first time on vinyl, Libertine contains material which arguably bares the closest stylistic similarity to The Dogs D'Amour. There has been speculation amongst fans that some of the songs were written for his former band. As on Tyla's first solo album (also available on Bang! Records), Libertine contains both electric and acoustic material. For fans of Jacobites, The Dogs D´Amour, and Johnny Thunders.

Confusion Au Go Go is the final studio album by the Seattle rock band Love Battery. It was originally released in 1998 on C/Z Records (Seattle) and only on CD format. Now it is finally released on vinyl and it has been remastered by Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden...) in order to get the purest sound. Love Battery were one of the most original bands to come out of the Seattle "grunge" scene, and one of a kind when it comes to alternative rock bands. AllMusic wrote: "The addition of Dan Peters (Mudhoney) on drums definitely tightens the screws, and the reinvigorated rhythm section provides the perfect foundation for guitarist Kevin Whitworth's inspired flights of fancy, including, as on Dayglo, some of the best slide guitar work in alternative rock." Martin C. Strong called Confusion Au Go Go "certainly a notable album," writing that "the band seemed to be in full swing and willing to push their boundaries." Personnel: Ron Nine - vocals, guitar; Kevin Whitworth - guitar; Bruce Fairweather (Mother Love Bone) - bass, backing vocals; Dan Peters (Mudhoney) - drums, percussion.

Finally on vinyl, Bloodloss's In-A-Gadda-Da-Change was originally recorded in Seattle and released in 1993 only on CD format. Recorded prior to their Warner/Reprise release Live My Way, In-A-Gadda-Da-Change finds Bloodloss squealing and writhing in a swamp of sound where Captain Beefheart and Tom Waits gather on an insane trip backed by a band of electric psychos, crooning about smoking, toilets, back shaving, fish wives, and dancing on hate street with such vigor that you can't help but cheer him them. Bloodloss's sound might be a bit abrasive for Mudhoney fans, but their music is richly rewarding and truly unique. Lysergic Ejaculation: Live in Europe 1991 finally reissued on double-LP. Considered one of the best garage revival live albums ever. It was recorded in Europe back in 1991 and this album exposes The Fuzztones at their wildest. When the LA garage psychedelic rock scene was happening back in the late '80s-early '90s The Fuzztones were one of the scene leaders. With frontman Rudi Protrudi's snarling vocals and wicked guitar this record is simply raw. Crank this one loud. WARNING: Explicit images included inside. Not to be sold to people under 18 years old. Killer reissue of the second album by The Kill Devil Hills, The Drought, originally recorded in November 2005, where the band goes toward dirtier and rawer sounds. The band continues in the direction of their first work, Heathen Songs, but adds dirtier nuances and rock. If in the first album you could mention Nick Cave and Hugo Race as influences, in this second one you can easily add The Beasts Of Bourbon to the list of influences, when listening to some of the rawest songs of it. This gang of animals from Perth, Australia, take their swampy folk-blues and take it to a new world of more extreme and wild sounds where melodies and violins create a wall of sound that involuntarily forces you to listen. After their successful tours of Australia and America, The Kill Devil Hills released this album in which they showed you that they were not "the next big thing", they were really a great band with overwhelming live shows. A key band and a pillar of the new emerging and ardent scene that has once again made Australia a hotbed of creativity. Bang! Records returns to edit this band, and as usual, with the quality Bang! Edition of 500.

Ordalias marks the first solo album by Ian Mason, lead singer of the well-known Basque Country heavy doom rock act, The Wizards. Within this precious edition shaped in a double-LP work, you can find 13 selections of dark and psychedelic folk in the way of bands like Wovenhand, Swans, or Death In June with lyrics involving matters such as spirituality, Christian mysticism, and the symbolist poetry of authors like Yeats, Blake, Goethe, or Novalis. Murder Junkies is the seventh studio album by G.G. Allin and featuring ANTiSEEN. This is GG Allin's final studio album to be released during his lifetime, originally released in 1991. Jeff Clayton, lead singer of ANTiSEEN, has described this album as a mixed blessing. Although he is very happy with the way it turned out, he thinks that a lot of people got the impression that they are nothing more than a backing band for G.G. Allin. Clayton has stated that G.G. Allin was very professional during the recording of the album, and he wonders how much of G.G. Allin's stage act was real and how much of it was "For The Marks". Now this album is being released for the first time as it was originally conceived, and it has been remastered in order to deliver the aggressive sound which with it was recorded.

Fast Stories... from Kid Coma is the debut studio album by the American rock band Truly, originally released in 1995. The album was put out by Capitol Records' Revolution imprint, while the vinyl edition was handled by Sub Pop. And now it is being reissued by Bang! Records. Fast Stories... from Kid Coma is loosely a concept album about a comatose kid "reliving a past summer of grandeur." The Encyclopedia of Popular Music called the album "a hard-hitting, insistent record that occasionally overreached in its attempts to distance itself from its contemporaries." Trouser Press wrote: "Heavy but never bludgeoning, melodic but never cheesy, excessive but never ridiculous, Fast Stories is an extended trip into several of rock's outer dimensions." Loudwire ranked the album at twenty-sixth in their list of "The 30 Best Grunge Albums of All Time". Kerrang! wrote that Fast Stories... from Kid Coma "remains a genuinely vital album, and quite possibly the [grunge] genre's swan song." Louder Sound named the album in their list of "10 obscure but absolutely essential grunge albums". MTV called it "the great psychedelic hard rock rush of the year." Members of the band: Robert Roth (vocals, guitar), Hiro Yamamoto (bass guitar, member of Soundgarden), Mark Pickerel (drums, member of Screaming Trees).

Spearheaded by twisted Australian guitar legend Stu Spasm of Lubricated Goat, Crunt, and The Beasts Of Bourbon, The Art Gray Noizz Quintet were originally formed for an afterparty celebrating the New York City premiere of Amphetamine Reptile documentary The Color Of Noise. "It was obvious I must assemble a supergroup of the finest noise rockers New York City had to offer," says Stu Spasm. First choice was basher extraordinaire "Bloody" Rich Hutchins, veteran of such explosive musical exports as Live Skull, Of Cabbages And Kings, and Ruin. Next, Skeleton Boy of Woman was recruited. "Who, just as Leadbelly was the king of the twelve-string guitar, is himself the king of the two-string bass." Then came the twang, with the addition of suave slinger Andrea Sicco of Twin Guns. "When our guitars merge, it forms a most piquant aural mélange." In a nod to the latter half of his birth name, Stu Spasm now became Art Gray, and an entirely new mess was born. The Art Gray Noizz Quintet have recently been witnessed onstage opening for kindred spirits such as The Scientists and Mudhoney, and 2019 saw them survive a successful tour of the West Coast. Catching the eye of no wave queen Lydia Lunch led to teaming up for a collaborative musical effort, and sharing a few stages including bookending the pandemic, with one of the last shows of 2020 NYC before lockdown hit, and a triumphant return to the boards in July 2021.
