"During the mid-'90s, David Kempston (aka Clatterbox) secured himself a considerable following while recording releases for the seminal UK label, Clear. In years to come, his debut double 10" mini-LP would become a collector's piece widely regarded as some of his best material. David went on to produce music in a diversity of styles, under various guises including the solid house sounds of Cartel Productions (Ideal/Reel Discs), the malignant breaks of Darkmode (En:vision Recordings) and a collaboration album project with Metamatics (Lee Norris) on label Neo Ouija. In 2003, David set up his own record label called Z-Bop, with friend Steve Horne aka The Horn (Universal Language). Co-running the label with a family of artists who all hail from the southwest of England. Late 2006 saw the Clatterbox debut release on legendary electro label Touchin' Bass called the Control Freak EP. In early 2007, Clatterbox released the Storm Drain EP on the ultra-cool label from Vienna Trust. This release with Cheap sees a re-uniting of old friendships as Clatterbox gigged on numerous occasions with Patrick and Erdem in the mid- to late-'90s. The material to be released on Cheap is very much a continuation of the funky/down-tempo styles fondly remembered by Clear and Clatterbox fans. As such this material could be considered 'Clatterbox - The Lost Works' as most of the tracks were produced in a period spanning 1998-2002. If you like your sounds funky, then look no further than Cheap and Clatterbox."

"The music on this album is a computer-manipulated mix of two live recordings. A live recording with my orchestra band of Inner Urge, and a live sound recording from a cinema in Dehli showing some old Indian gangster movie. All together this is a new sound track of a gangster movie to be seen without a screen." -- A. Engkilde

Double vinyl version. Austrian vocalist known for his "study" of the Ratpack (the ultimate loser trio of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin & Sammy Davis Jr.), sings his songs over an electronic backing produced and arranged by M. Neugebauer. An incredibly uninteresting concept, actually realized to decent effect.

Second full length from Gerhard Potuznik of Austria (following his Amore Motore (...Autobahn) CD on Mego). "Credited to (artist) Potuznik but actually a collection of often disorienting & completely disparate elements produced/conceived by Gerhard Potuznik (Mego, GiGuptight, Cheap) and Ramon Bauer (Mego's General Magic & 1/2 of Rehberg & Bauer) and carried out by the likes of Max Goldt, Florian Hecker, Patrick Pulsinger (iO, Sluts & Strings), Peter Rehberg (Pita, other 1/2 of Rehberg & Bauer), Hans Platzgumer (HP Zinker, records on Disko B), and Potuznik/Bauer themselves. The results are nothing short of mesmerizing; short segments of abstract spoken context w/'mood' laced between varying heavy drones, digital electro, INA-GRM style acousmatics, post-rock style layerings, video-game FX, deep old-school cologne thump, gated hip-hop, and at least one pop song. Brilliant stuff, clear ringer for 'record of the year' glory and miles away from previous Mego-related digital-error themes. Great." -- Hrvatski.

Early '97 release from the fabulous Austrian duo of Patrick Pulsinger and E. Tunakan, dealing in mad electro-groove music. "Carrera starts with the electro-phunk of 'Intro (Go Back In Time With Your Mind)' and continues in that vein almost straight through with the exceptions of the more purist techno of 'Civilized', the downtempo beats of 'Dig This?' and the smooth Techno-fusion of 'Hard Move'. Sluts'n'Strings are Kraftwerk with Afros, impractical facial hair, swinging medallions and comic timing."
