Who is the mysterious Hezziane? Cold Recordings present two scorching floor bangers from this unknown entity, Hezziane. "KV-08" thumps and bangs with all the movement and makings of a classic to come. There's acid 303, there's break-y cuts, thumping 4/4 kicks and dark side bass. This is a surefire roller that you will definitely keep coming back to. "Pivot" keeps the acid theme running but moves with a slightly more electro-aligned twang to it. UK-Chicago connection in sonic effect.

Cocktail Party Effect makes a return to Cold Recordings with four new genre-melting rhythmical workouts. "Lemons" kicks things off, opening with dubbed-out chords and a fidgety, rattling percussive loop. Following straight on is "Bangers" which almost sounds like an imagined collaboration between JA rhythms stars of the moment, Equiknoxx and Walton or Batu. "Quite" brings things back into slightly more familiar territories, utilizing a swooping bassline as pitched, deranged vocal stabs swirl about and tight drum programming keeps the pace moving. "Flat Football" which returns to a similar form as the title track, "Lemons", with manic drum programming.

Across three tracks, Berlin based producer Phon.O demonstrates his ability to combine UK bass influences with techno sensibilities. "CLU5T3R" opens with a swinging 132bpm rhythm that sits somewhere in between classic UK-funky and a cracking Shed/Heads High techno anthem. "V3R5U5" progresses the mood into a more ethereal space, building layers of pads and texture as the track develops. "H4NDCUFF3D" takes the mood into a more dramatic backdrop. Chilling pads swell up from the ground like mist in a graveyard, while the broken rhythm sets pace, creating a moody ambiance.

Eric Baldwin (Cocktail Party Effect) shows off his colors with four diverse, rhythmic, and experimental cuts. "Battered" kicks things off with a glitching set of electronics before dropping into a fidgety rhythmical explosion. "OOYFM" takes things into slightly more typical UK bass music territory, rolling out techno ingredients, a grime-y UK bassline with broken-beat rhythmical dynamics. "Intens" takes a stance that sits somewhere between dancehall and techno, while descending electronic motifs cascade in sympathy. "I Kno3" pulls back on the instant gratification factors but hits out instead with a moody, bass-driven and percussively expressive exit track.

Cold Recordings returns with a new release from label-boss Pinch, blurring the boundaries between dance floor sensibilities and experimental spaces. "Water Bomb" is finally available after many requests following its appearance on Mumdance's acclaimed FabricLive mix (FABRIC 160CD, 2015). Descriptively titled, the track leads with metallic pads and squealing electronics as a distorted bass drum builds to the break. "Cold New Worlds" takes on a more hypnotic stance, entrancing and unusual from start to finish. Brooding pads and dynamic atmospherics hold together the robotic, fidgety percussive maneuvers that rolls ever forward, constantly on the brink of collapse.
