Color vinyl version. Away from the grandeur, and although their line-up history is full of potholes -- the key to unlock this classic release by Extreme Noise Terrors, Holocaust in Your Head is the double-edged vocal prongs from ENT founders Phil Vane and Dean Jones and the black-avalanche guitars of Steve Hurley (not forgetting the drum stool occupied by Mick Harris, soon to be of Scorn during the recording of this album, and Doom's Tony "Stick" Dickens). "Statement" is as good as any opening gambit for a band -- a trail of sludge setting fire to itself consuming the raw, political ashtray mantras spewed into its thick, corrosive grip. "Another Nail in the Coffin" suitably devastating the senses as a wrecking-ball swings from its chain into the side of a condemned building, brick by brick. Eaten. Buried.

White color vinyl version. Formed in Lewisham, southeast London, punk band the Business joined the Oi! scene after supporting the Four Skins in 1981. Debut single "Harry May" hit the Indie charts before the group disintegrated, leading frontman Micky Fitz to recruit new members. Then, in 1987, original guitarist Nick Kent joined Fitz for heavy metal side project UK, with former Tank drummer Mark Brabbs, channeling their love of AC/DC, Motorhead, and Rose Tattoo. As Kent goes all-out with the hard rock solos and Fitz aims for the melodic, this is a great slice of the new wave of British heavy metal, and a startling surprise for all Business fans!

Formed in Stoke on Trent in 1977, northern band Discharge changed the British punk scene forever with a distinctive brand of hardcore, making minimalistic mu-sic with heavily distorted guitar, drone-like bass, shouted anarchic vocals and a style of propulsive drumming, known as D Beat. This new edition of the legendary London debut, unleashed at Camden's Music Machine in October 1980, is a blistering set that captures the group at their freshest, the audience response so great that they revisit "Realities Of War," "Fight Back," "Tomorrow Belongs To Us," and "They Declare It" for the full-throttle encore. Essential Discharge!

The unissued original recording for their debut album Holocaust In Your Head. How many bands can say they had multiple debut albums? For crustcore sound terrorists Extreme Noise Terror, Holocaust In Your Head: The Original Holocaust, first recording version, continues to excuse itself in being reissued for what must be the last time before the last time. It's no wonder why. "We The Helpless" is every bit as hopeless as it sounds -- a blitzkrieg of wails and nightmarish sonics that tighten themselves around the temples until the eyes turn white. "Statement" will always stand on its own two feet as a perfect set opener and Innocence to Ignorance's unhinged atmospheric armageddon as well as "Use Your Mind"'s sample-sprung assault on the senses are possible indications of where the band could've wound up had their line-up not been walking such a shaky tightrope. Rough as hell? Sure. But if you want to know what it feels like to have the signal input of your skull reflect a separation in the grounding circuit of the flesh from the neck down, then carry on screaming.

Color vinyl version. Having played with the likes of influential movers and shakers on the anarcho-punk scene Antisect and Icons of Filth, on their first full-length LP, Birmingham's Sacrilege established themselves as a unique force to be reckoned with, wreaking havoc on what could be classified as sonic tropes belonging to a spectrum of subgenres dealing in the extremes: hardcore, doom, and thrash. Fronted by Lynda 'Tam' Simpson and her seizure-inducing spells injected with a fierce, sociopolitical-cum-mythopoeic banshee bite (but not wanting to understate the line-up of Damian Thompson on guillotine-quick/milkshake thick guitars) -- the six-track onslaught is every bit as crushing as the title suggests. From depraved dungeon synth-scapes on opener Lifeline to the planet-flattening funeral toll of "The Closing Irony," one question remains: One riff to rule them all? Yes.

Recorded in Los Angeles in 1982, 13.13 exists as document to the pandemonium of specters and potential serial killers who twisted the California Dream into a waking nightmare as they snaked through the boulevards, back yards and basements of a sun stroked paradise turning into a blood-soaked inferno of fear, paranoia, panic and lust killings. Lush musical textures provided by members of seminal art punks The Weirdos -- Dix Denney, Cliff Martinez, and Greg Williams create a hypnotic backdrop to Lydia Lunch's evocative vocals and terrifying lyrics.

Originally released in 1980, Stiv Bators first solo effort. Mr. Bators was the man who destroyed Rocket From The Tombs, from which he hijacked half the members to found one of the most influential American punk bands to have existed, The Dead Boys. Stiv has turned in his broken teeth for a more power pop oriented solo career. This is not an album recorded by a has-been former punk idealist; instead, it's a true step forward into another unknown arena packing all the glare and attitude that remained from the last. 50th anniversary reissue.

A manic clash of guitars, bass and drums beating each other's brains out in the same sonic bullring? Check. Despite already (if a little unbeknownst) being considered crust pioneers, by 1988, Hellbastard had firmly inserted themselves, even proudly so, in between a series of bifurcated genre schisms well-protected by those scene's respected guardians. Their official debut, Heading For Internal Darkness no less perfectly exemplifies that schism. With Wendy V Gill's haunted-cosmos monologues injecting some transcendental light into the neck otherwise being mercilessly ripped to pieces by Scruff and Scotty's spaced-out vocal grunts, opener "We Had Evidence" to the equally arresting elevator-shaft-with-a-mind-of-its-own "Death Camp" to "The Pylons" whip up seriously dark whirlwinds into atmospheric dances of rapid energy and relentless spasms of spellcasting drama. Never mind metal, too punk for anything.

Modern Lovers' self-titled debut album, released in 1976, is a timeless exploration of proto-punk and alternative rock. Led by Jonathan Richman, the album captures a minimalist and lo-fi charm, with tracks like "Roadrunner" becoming anthems of the emerging punk scene. Tongue-in-cheek punk act Toy Dolls came together in the northeast formerly industrial town of Sunderland, England in 1979 with working-class humor at the forefront of everything and frontman Olga breaking up the Oi singalongs with searing guitar assaults. Issued on the independent Volume label as usual, third album Idle Gossip continued in the same mold as their first two LPs with "Geordie's Gone To Jail," "Keith's A Thief," "Silly Billy," and the title track all cracking numbers built on Olga and company's irresistible charm; "I'll Get Even With Steven" even gives a po-faced punk nod to Elvis. Formed in London in 1977 by Mark Perry and Alex Fergusson, then editors of the punk fanzine Sniffin' Glue, Alternative TV was a post-punk group known for incorporating reggae rhythms and pushing the boundaries of the definition of punk toward the experimental and avant-garde. Their first album, The Image Has Cracked, came out originally in 1978 and is a wholly unique piece of British post-punk. Beloved by John Peel, and close confidantes of Throbbing Gristle, Alternative TV is one of the most original and beguiling groups of the era. Printed on red color vinyl.

Containing the hits that were only deemed misses by the critics that condemned Oi! as some kind of subcultural fad that favored football and violence way above the bloody good tunes that should by rights occupy the higher rank, 4 Skins' The Unreleased Radio & Studio Sessions encapsulates that energy at its finest. From formidable swarms of police brutality and political injustice, the underlying (and unyielding) socio-political messages experienced from the streets that resonated with every estranged clockwork skinhead of the day are bound to be ticked on every track. After the atmospheric crash of "One Law for Them," dropped in amongst the Radio and blistering Bumper Sessions with "Evil" sitting squarely in its unpolished center is the ska-inflected gallop of "Seems To Me," an unreleased tune reinforcing the notion that there was more to Oi! than meets the laces.
