The 17th installment from Danse Club kicks off a much darker and harder side of the label -- with dark sleeves and muted colors, there is a clear difference in direction on Emerson Todd's Love Somebody. Danse Club has called upon Sascha Dive, Nathan Barato, and itself (Brodanse) for remix duties in order to take Todd's original piece in three dancefloor-led yet contrasting directions. Each remixer delivers get exactly what one would expect from such names, and the result is a package of stand-out Danse Club tools that will find its way into a number of record bags.

Danse Club's 16th release welcomes Greek producer, Sek. The release kicks off with "Everybody," a bumping and groove-filled slice of deep house that employs a simple bass, a filtered piano chord groove and sparse vocal hits. Next up is "No Matter What," a driving, garage-influenced record that is sure to make dancefloors crazy. Last but not least, "Sofa King High" is a laid-back, deep, sleazy house track with distorted chords, smooth bass, and addictive vocals.

Danse Club label bosses Scott & Austen Smart aka Brodanse unleash their second release on the label, The Ride featuring vocals from Cari Golden. The release kicks off with the original version of "Nobody Walks," a tough and grooving slice of vocal house. Turning the record over will show you a darker side to the Brodanse signature groove. "In the House" is a solid, rolling tech-house banger -- definitely a tool for a club floor wanting to push the envelope. "Reactivate" is a dark, rolling DBX/Radio Slave-inspired take on tech-house, using filtered chords, deep sine bass, 909 rides and eerie vocals.

Michelle Nielsen & Phillip Hill aka Drew Hill unleash their first release on Dance Club Records with stand-out remixes by Groove Armada and label-owners Brodanse. The release kicks off with the original version of "Talk to You," a deep, spacious vocal house track driven by the purest of vocals, deep chords and essential perc hits. Next on the A-side is the Brodanse remix of "Talk to You," a deep, driving tech groover which takes elements from the original and drives them onto a darker, harder level. Groove Armada's remix is an epic, emotive piano chord-led interpretation of the original mix, which is a sure classic.

"Who's Dick Is This" is a 1994 kicking house bomb by the mysterious Princess Di, who released just three EPs during the '90s on Music Station. This track was the pick of the bunch. German producer Sqim, associated with labels like Exploited and Play It Down, offers up a "Ghetto" and "Warm Up" mix, both physical, deep, and sleazy. Then Deepchild offers up two versions of his own: the ragged and raging techno version, "Cockumentary Retug," and a "Straight Dub" journey with a heavy groove.

The third release in Danse Club's Black Series is a collaborative effort between Dutch tech house hero Lauhaus and countryman Rik Woldring with a standout remix from Boris Werner. Lauhaus has long been at the heart of the underground electronic music scene, releasing on imprints like 100% Pure and Area Remote as well as his own Soweso and We Dig labels, while Rik Woldring is very much a talent on the rise. Together the pair crafts some infectious and charismatic grooves -- the sort of thing that makes you sweat on the floor but has enough detail to keep your mind occupied, too.

Brodanse team up with vocalist Cari Golden and resurgent beatsmiths Groove Armada for a huge new track that has already been road-tested in Ibiza and has drawn all the right reactions. "Sweat (Club)" is a big bouncy house track with neon synth stabs, raw and thumping kick drums and icy hi-hats that all coalesce into a barnstorming peak-time track designed for maximum destruction. It's simple but effective, economic but efficient in terms of design and keeps your attention locked for seven minutes of inescapable house tension. The deep version is less rigid and regimented, there is more swing in the drums and percussion and a golden glow of warmth radiates from within. The vocal here is also smoother and creamier, making its way into your heart as the waify chords add more layers of sonic richness. This is one for sun-down rather than hands-up moments and perfectly encapsulates the forward-facing house vibe the Danse Club label embodies.

The storming Danse Club Records are back with another big house classic that comes complete with remixes from Dutch tech-house hero Lauhaus, label bosses Brodanse plus Bass Culture alumni John Jastszebski, whose version is vinyl-only. Kalisha's original is a classic house beat released on N Sync Inc back in 1992, but it still sounds hugely on-point. With garage-inflected beats, grainy, catchy percussion and pristine chord stabs, it is an ebullient jam that brims with personality.
