"Well, it might be frozen up north, but that doesn't stop Jussi-Pekka to keep the jackers coming! Our man from Nokia has a long list of releases, and his first release for Floppy Funk is another cracker. 'Regression' is a magic old school slightly acid house track. 'Depression' is more modern and techno, keeping a deep edge. The 'Regression' remix courtesy of Frankie (the man who keeps jackin and freakin with his Frankie label) is another fine crazy tune to go nuts!"

"Hot on the heels of their debut EP for Frankie (Cpstyre), the Swedish newcomers Donk Boys aka Thomas Jaldemark and Martin Abrahamsson presents four new hot trax for your favorite label Floppy Funk! 'Mongoponny' shoots off this parade of sing along hits with its haunting rhythm and damaged, yet addictive, rubber-like melody, complete with a low-pitched YEAH sample, it's almost like a soundclash of Claude vonStroke vs M_nus on horse... mental that is. For the sick floors that just can't get enough! Next up is 'Zonky': almost tripping over itself with the booming sub bass, wet blops and suggestive melodic elements, this one should do the trick if you're into more minimal sounds. Moody, but still crazy funky! Flip to B-side for trunkfunk with 'Elephant': starting off with a steady shuffled beat and crisp percussion combined with warped vocal snippets, this one does not wait for anyone! Jumping straight into the mix with the pop-like lead melody, again extremely addictive, like an elephant needing to score a fix from the dealer pig. Not for the faint-hearted! Full on zoo disco action -- video game style! The finishing track is 'Gump Nymix': bringing in the old skool elements of Joey Beltram (Game Form-era), Neil Landstrumm (circa Praline Horse) and Sweden's finest Börft Records, this wonky bit is in its own way the most deranged of the four. Stripped, distorted drums (aah the RZ-1 hihat!) plus a really really stupid bassline that just keeps on going and going and going like a circuit-bent children's toy."

"Montréal's Guillaume Coutu Dumont doesn't lack for collaborations. He works alongside Julien Roy as Egg, with David Fafard under the Luci moniker, and collaborates with Argentina's Ernesto Ferreyra in Chic Miniature. But now it's time for Guillaume to continue his quest for the ultimate ham bone funk recipe with his solo project: Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts! A special blend of funk, house, techno, gospel, swing, barbershop quartet and Afro-beat! Boogie Woogui, his second solo output after his Hartchef debut, presents two special tracks of sweet and hypnotic grooves that will make any dancefloor climb a few steps towards a better place. The funky basslines wrapped in warm and soulful blankets of old blues-y samples will seduce even the grumpiest. This 12" is completed by a Matt John remix which keeps the groove steady and focused on one goal: make you all dance, smile and wiggle!"

"Second fat release from Hugo on Floppy Funk! After his much acclaimed 'Ubitquity' and the fabulous Tongut releases, 'Hugoist' is a 100% pure Hugo style: electronic, minimal, funky, deep, rough and clubby! Yes, we dare to say it's a bit Fuckpony stylee! Four tracks of the new Italian sound hailing from Torino, where Hugo is part of the scene together with mates like Titta. Hugo is also involved in 'Concept,' a contemporary answer to the necessary integration of different media. Concept starts from the music, spreading its contents through various channels like radio, magazines, multimedia and club nights. You can't resist the Hugoist!"

Featuring: Fahone People & Dash Dude remixes. "More beats and basslines! Up and coming Cruz (aka Beni Stöckling) delivers two strong club tracks with fat basslines 'n' bleeps. 'Knusper' is an uplifting track with a dirty piano sound and catchy vocal snippets -- ready to rock! The Fahone People (who are in fact Holger Schneider and Erk Richter from our much loved Hartchef Discos, yeeeah) turn 'Knusper' into a dry shuffling Chicago like rhythm track -- that's what we call minimal! On the B-Side, 'Cougas' is the Cruz trademark again: beats and basslines to make you move! Morris Audio buddy Dash Dude just adds some lovely melodies over the 'Cougas' original version and makes it a clubby funky floppy 4-tracker."

"After the much-appreciated first two Floppy Funk releases, here's another example of Floppy's funk and deepness! Some Kind Of... from Shaka is a diverse, old schoolish yet modern techno record. A killer record we think! The A-side offers the club groover 'First One' and the beautiful deep Detroitish 'Heitere Gemüter.' The B-side offers a re-release: 'Erfolgsgeblubber' was released on Morris Audio Citysport a year ago, but has been getting superb feedback (e.g. Steve Bug: 'this is huge!') and we just love this early Warp styled bleeper! Finishing off this well rounded EP, Shaka comes up with some great jazzy electronic trickery called 'Phalonmukka.' Great stuff for open-minded freaks, and well worth checkin' Shaka's upcoming stuff on Revolver and his remix of Pan/Tone's 'Gringo Grinder!'"

"Montreal-based Mossa's instrumental background can be clearly heard in his electronic compositions. After DJ-ing since 1999, Mossa (aka Jeremy Petrus) ventures into producing, combining his many styles to create a body of work which is at times minimalist, amusing, and rarely symmetrical. Using an assortment of plastic and static sounds collected here and there, he arranges an eclectic bouquet of rhythm and kick. Mossa is also dedicated to releasing an uncompromising style in house music and minimal techno with his record label, Complot Records. He released on labels like Cynosure, Mo's Ferry, Mutek or Orac and has been remixed by supreme producers like Mike Shannon, John Tejada and Ark. One of his milestones is his forthcoming debut album Some Eat It Raw on Circus Company -- an amazing collection of samples and beats. Scat Attack, his first (and definitely not last) 12" for Floppy Funk, is again a masterpiece of amusing antistatic microfunk."
