Indigo Aera releases Selected Works: Fragmentary Memories, a truly special project from Japan's Yamoaka. Yamoaka was originally formed by renowned Japanese duo Kenichi Oka and Yoshinori Yamazaki; after 2007 the project was continued solo by Oka. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Kraftwerk and Y.M.O., Oka masterfully uses hardware to create unique loop based sounds drawing resemblances to minimalist Steve Reich's signature sound, while blending in techno-esque elements comparable to those of Terrence Dixon's Population One alias, finding a harmonious middle ground between the two. Oka achieves a live feel to all his work, recording his tracks in real time without the use of DAW's or computers, instead utilizing his Roland MC50 sequencer with perfect effect. As long-time fans of Kenichi's work, Indigo Aera bosses Jasper and Maarten approached him to release a retrospective selection of his works for the first time on vinyl. The result is a collection of hand-picked tracks previously released on CD-only plus four completely new and unheard pieces. Edition of 298.

Amsterdam imprint Indigo Aera welcome Private Press. The talented duo from Warsaw made a really strong impression with their debut release on Technosoul in 2016. The four untitled jams released on that debut EP found their way into many DJ sets across Europe's techno dancefloors. In 2018, Private Press will release three EPs on Indigo Aera. On this first EP, the duo mixes a strong blend of '90s sounding techno with dub and breakbeats into two original tracks. To give them a warm welcome, label owners Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff took care of the B side for two reworks.

Louis Haiman returns to Indigo Aera with The Cosmic Memory EP, featuring a remix by Marcel Dettmann. His first single here is "How Free Am I", and it is eight delicate minutes of floating ambience and subtle, stripped back rhythm. Soothing and absorbing throughout, it becomes a forceful and high pressure bit of techno in the hands of Marcel Dettmann who layers in solid kicks and clacking hits to drive things along. "Hidden Knowledge" is a slithering bit of atmospheric electro with rumbling synths and pads suspending you in deep space.

Vince Watson presents a collection of tracks from his peerless archives. All were produced in the late '90s and early '00s. "Fragment III" was released under his V-Phorms alias on the Native label in 2003, but the other three tracks are never-before-heard gems. Watson, of course, has been releasing tough house, acid, and techno under many different names since the '90s, on Planet E, Poker Flat, Cocoon, Ovum, Yoruba, Delsin, and Tresor. He has constantly evolved his sound so that he has tried, and succeeded, at making just about everything. Here he serves up some classic hi-tek soul.

Two originals by Indigo æra founders Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff. Since the label's start they have been on a mission for soul containing techno. This release, a little bit tougher than their previous releases, still perfectly maintains the Detroit-esque melodic elements. Cosmic Language EP is about the visualization of soundwaves into geometric forms... Opener "Ante 303" is a loose-limbed bit of techno with straight kicks, spacious percussion, and an always-essential baseline that sprays about freely. Heady but physical, seductively supple techno. "Trica" has more classically driven chords and has real sense of crescendo buried in the bass.

Amsterdam's Indigo Aera label is back with part four of their Lost Archives series. The EP features two tracks, one by Befomo (Benny Rodrigues) and one by label bosses Jasper Wolff and Maarten Mittendorff. "Hugs from the D" is a broken, drum-based deep-space funk with celestial pads circling round a jostling drum beat. It's an uplifting, intergalactic bit of music that has real soul at its core. "Symmetrical" is a seriously fast-paced bit of supple and succulent techno with fantastic cymbal work, plenty of slap-funk in the percussion and swathes of warming, dubbed-out reverb.

11th Indigo Aera release by Antigone. Hand-stamped & numbered vinyl, no repress. Antigone is responsible for highly-acclaimed releases on Construct Re-form and Ars Mechanica, Children Of Tomorrow and the Concrete label. Antigone's signature sound is a fine blend of soul-searching strings on top of cutting-edge sci-fi techno rhythms, as evidenced by the eerie and spine-tingling "Words of Silences." Next, "Third from the Sun" is much quicker and more frantic, but just as smooth. Includes a mix of "Words of Silences" from Jasper Wolff & Maarten Mittendorff.

Limited edition, hand-numbered copies, no repress. This is Detroit techno from one of the most unique techno producers around. From his first productions on Djax-Up Beats in 1995, his Transmat classics, and recent appearances on Skudge and, of course, Indigo Aera itself, over the years Stephen Brown has achieved his own unique and distinctive production style. This EP features three carefully-selected tracks from his always-changing live set. There are three originals, from melodic machine-soul techno to more straightforward dancefloor cuts. On the flip there's a remix from Rolando.

Indigo Aera is extremely excited to release these precious gems from Kirk Degiorgio's personal archive. Kirk found the tracks by accident going through his DAT tapes from 1991-1992. Time captured in music which deserves to be on black gold. No repress. Limited amount of hand-numbered copies.

Part three of the Lost Archives series, including two heavy tracks for the floor. On the A-side, Stephen Brown contributes with "The Flow," in which he perfectly shows his own distinctive trademark sound. Moving synths on top of a rolling, tribalesque beat. On the B-side we find Jonas Kopp with "Telergia," one of his most melodic pieces to date. He kept in mind some of his personal favorite productions from Steve Rachmad and Robert Hood when he made this track. Up-to-date techno with old school Detroit influences.

Gatefold vinyl-only release, limited to 377 copies. This album by Louis Haiman is a real journey through time. Having released two of these tracks on early Transmat compilation CDs, the other six unreleased tracks are carefully mined from Louis' archive from 15-20 years ago. Louis Haiman's music is a balance of gentle synth arrangements swimming atop a sea of low-end frequencies. Ambient soundscapes drift among layer after layer of meandering melodies while deep, syncopated rhythms and bass keep listeners grounded. A study in contrasts, his compositions are both tranquil and urgent, brought on by some of his earliest influences: Art Of Noise, Propaganda, Pet Shop Boys, Jean Luc Ponty, Depeche Mode, classic rock, and of course, early Chicago house and Detroit techno. Many years of traditional music study led him to Boston's Berklee College of Music in 1987 where he began his first electronic music experiments. Though, it wasn't until many years later in 1998, while living in New York City, did an ominous note find its way to him from none other than Derrick May and Transmat Records inviting him to collaborate. From his original work on Transmat, Louis has been able to evolve his sound and circle of friends worldwide to include releases on Fountain Music, AW Recordings, Abstract Forms, Icon Of Desire, Indigo Aera and his own digital imprint Fwdthought Music. Soul Purpose is mined from an archive of 15-20 years' worth of creativity. Mastered by Helmut Erler at Dubplates + Mastering, Berlin.
