"After his very well acclaimed debut on Orphanear with Jujuy&Salta and his impelling and chart-breaking remix for Tocotronic's latest 12" Imitationen, Pawel is back with the new 12" Gabriel on Orphanear. Both tracks provide the autumn soundtrack for deep and dark house-loving clubs all over the globe. The A-side with 'Gabriel' mixes classic house strings with some xylophone and bell sounds, known from Hamburg's scene around Dial and Smallville Records. These elements build up in beautiful layers to culminate in a furious, rather ironic break. The B-side with 'Early Bird' begins with an airy beat that brings Pawel's 2004 vocal house lover 'Grab It' back to mind. After the softer intro, the track mutates into a synth spiral whose home has already been defined by Pawel's 12" Ceramic. Some abandoned industrial city in the north of the United States. A timeless record."

"Pawel, also known for his melancholic and deeply emotional songwriter skills as Turner on Ladomat and Mute, follows his path of minimal post-Detroit influenced tracks recently heard on his Dial release, 'Ceramics.' Having released 3 12"s on Dial Records as Pawel so far, 'Jujuy & Salta' marks a step on new ground, by starting his own label. Orphanear is meant to be a open playground for both the Pawel and Turner releases, as well as for old and new friends, not only in the dance spectrum. Exciting forthcoming releases to hit the streets in 2007! 'Jujuy' starts of with a slowed-down, dark and bouncing synth line, and later on sound as if Sähkö had moved to Los Angeles and invited us all. 'Salta' turns up the velocity slightly and deliberately evolves into one of the sweetest and hypnotic Detroit affine tracks in the recent past."
