South London blues-rock band Killing Floor was formed in the late 1960s with lead singer and harmonica player Bill Thorndycraft, guitarist Mike Clarke, bassist Stuart McDonald, pianist Lou Martin, and percussionist Bas Smith, with Muddy Waters their foremost inspiration. After an eponymous debut album produced by former music writer John Edward, issued by the independent Spark label (and licensed to Sire in the US), Killing Floor was signed by Larry Page, who placed follow-up LP Out Of Uranus on Penny Farthing, again with Edward in the producer's chair. In contrast to the debut LP, Out Of Uranus had heavy acid rock and psychedelic leanings, as heard on the anti-religion title track and songs like "Acid Bean", though "Where Nobody Ever Goes" was more in standard blues-rock mode. As was the case with several other Page projects from the period, poor album sales made the release a true rarity, its scarcity keeping it in high demand today. Original artwork in gatefold sleeve, licensed by original rights owner Larry Page Productions.

Hailing from the small, conservative market town of Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, The Charlottes rose from the ashes of a short-lived band called The Giant Polar Bears; before that, bassist David Fletcher had been in Red Over White, guitarist Graham Gargiulo had played in Mithrandir while drummer Simon Scott would eventually end up in Slowdive; early vocalist John Lindsell was replaced by Petra Roddis. Their debut single, "Are You Happy Now", issued on the short-lived local independent, Moleworth Records, was in melodic power-pop mode; debut album Lovehappy was recorded in Bristol and released by Martin Whitehead's Subway Organization in August 1989, to rave reviews. Championed by John Peel, it showcased their evolving "Wall of Guitar" sound, moving away from the tamer pop beginnings. Follow-up EP Love In The Emptiness showed continued growth, the song constructions becoming more complex and layered, and when the group signed to Cherry Red in 1990, the single Liar began making waves in America, though the group somehow split right at this high-water mark; thankfully, the EP and single are both included on our expanded Lovehappy reissue. 180 gram vinyl.

The story of northern English band Blitz follows something of an unusual trajectory. Formed in the small industrial town of New Mills in Derbyshire (once known for coal mines, cotton mills and calico bleaching), Blitz began as a hardcore concern, their first two albums considered classics of the "street punk" and Oi subgenres of the early 1980s, but third album Second Empire Justice shifted their sound in a totally unexpected post-punk/new wave direction, with intricate arrangements, greater musical complexity and a generally softer style. Unfortunately for the group, the album was a commercial failure that spelled their ultimate demise, yet just as the band bit the dust, bassist Neil McLennan and guitarist Nidge Miller formed Rose Of Victory with drummer Gary Bowler and engineer Nigel Beverley on vocals, cutting a one-off version of Bowie's "Suffragette City", coupled with an equally intriguing Miller instrumental on the flip. Rose Of Victory never lasted beyond this initial offering, however, leaving the single a unique memento of their faltering creativity.

Radiation Deluxe presents a reissue of Blitz's 1982 debut album, Voice Of A Generation, captured here on 180 gram vinyl with a faithful reproduction of the original inner sleeve. Raw, violent and catchy, Voice Of A Generation sounded like a shot of pure rock and roll through the violence of the English working class. Made up of two punks and two skinheads, with a lot to say about violence and football, Blitz appealed to all kinds of lowlifes, who finally had a voice for their generation.

RSD 2018 release. Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry's Talk About The Weather, originally released in 1985. Red Lorry Yellow Lorry were one of the finest post-punk groups of the mid-80s, founded in 1981 in Leeds by chief member Chris Reed. Molded after the likes of Wire and Joy Division, the Lorries combined angular walls of guitar noise with throbbing bass lines and drum machine to create a unique sound that was indebted to the first wave of UK post-punk but quickly evolved into a new sound all their own. After several singles on the Red Rhino label, the group released their debut LP in 1985. The group's finest effort, Talk About The Weather reached #3 on the NME album charts and has maintained a reputation as one of the best UK post-punk records of the 1980s three decades later. Essential stuff. Includes four bonus tracks. 180 gram vinyl; Limited edition of 500 (hand numbered).

RSD 2018 release. The Telescopes were founded in England in 1987 by chief member Stephen Lawrie and released several recordings in the late 1980s but it is in 1990, when the band signed to legendary label Creation, that they hit their stride and helped to define a decade of UK rock music. Fusing elements of psychedelia with noise-rock, and dreamy pop, The Telescopes were near the forefront of the early shoegaze scene and hugely influential on the next wave of early 1990s Brit-pop. This crucial collection complies all four of their 12" singles on Creation as well as a 1991 John Peel session and other bonus tracks. Deluxe double-LP includes double-sided poster insert; 180 gram vinyl; Limited edition (numbered).

Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of The Crowd's A World Apart, originally released in 1981. "It is impossible to overstate the significance of The Crowd to the nascent L.A. hardcore scene. Whilst bands like early Agent Orange and Social Distortion were playing to handfuls of fans in northern Orange County, in 1979 The Crowd were already filling backyards on their home turf in Huntington Beach, California. Ironically, it was further afield in the San Gabriel Valley that I first saw them perform, opening for the still punk Go-Go's in a small club. Without the continuing success of The Crowd in 1979 and throughout the summer of 1980, I would have packed my bags for London. Instead, the L.A. hardcore scene lifted off!" --Robbie Fields, Poshboy Records. 180 gram vinyl. Edition of 500.

Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of Rhino 39's self-titled album, originally released in 1986. Formed in the late '70s at the same high school that spawned L.A. legends True Sounds Of Liberty, Rhino 39 had an unfortunate fate. After releasing one of the most legendary singles of the L.A. scene on Dangerhouse in 1979 - which included a track ("Prolixin Stomp") that is considered by many to be one of the earliest examples of L.A. hardcore - the lead singer, Dave Dacron, died in a car accident in April of 1980. His younger brother took over lead singing duties and though it took another six years for their self-titled debut LP to be released, it still sounds like classic early '80s L.A. punk. A legendary band with a long forgotten classic LP finally back in print on Radiation Deluxe. 180 gram vinyl. Edition of 500.

Radiation Deluxe Series present a reissue of Lol Coxhill's Ear Of Beholder, originally released in 1971. Ear Of Beholder is one of the most beguiling and adventurous records of the 1970s, which is saying a lot as that is a musical decade marked by groundbreaking creativity. Originally released on John Peel's Dandelion label, Lol Coxhill's sprawling double album debut is an avant-garde jazz masterstroke that features Robert Wyatt and much of the Whole World group, Kevin Ayers's backing band at the time (of which Lol was a member). Ranging from straight-up feedback to re-workings of standards, outdoor recordings to spoken word, improvisation to vaudeville, Ear Of Beholder covers more ground in two LPs than most artists do in a lifetime. Difficult, adventurous listening from one of British jazz's most brilliant innovators. 180 gram vinyl; Comes in a gatefold sleeve.

Radiation present a reissue of New Bottles Old Medicine, the 1970 debut from British group Medicine Head. A duo at the time, they had recently been discovered by the legendary John Peel who immediately signed them to his Dandelion record label, following with the release of this album. One of the more enigmatic and inventive groups of the British folk-rock scene, the duo's leader, John Fiddler would simultaneously sing, play guitar and operate a bass drum and hi-hat cymbal with his foot, while bandmate Peter Hope-Evans would play harmonica, jew's harp, and various percussion instruments. Creating a sound that was simultaneously ethereal and earthy, and with a voice that touched on the heartbroken vibes of Nick Drake and John Martyn, Medicine Head were truly one of the most brilliant groups of early '70s UK scene and rarely get the attention they deserve. This reissue comes as a deluxe 180 gram vinyl.

Formed in London in 1977 by Mark Perry and Alex Fergusson, then editors of the punk fanzine Sniffin' Glue, Alternative TV was a post-punk group known for incorporating reggae rhythms and pushing the boundaries of the definition of punk toward the experimental and avant-garde. Their first album, The Image Has Cracked, came out originally in 1978 and is a wholly unique piece of British post-punk. Beloved by John Peel, and close confidantes of Throbbing Gristle, Alternative TV is one of the most original and beguiling groups of the era. This classic is reissued here on 180-gram vinyl with two bonus tracks and a double-sided insert.

Formed by guitarist/vocalist Noel Redding while he was still playing bass in a little group called The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Fat Mattress released their debut in late 1969 on Polydor. Though Noel's more famous group was known for its hard edged psychedelic rock, Fat Mattress instead opted for the breezier side of things, with a distinct West Coast folk-rock bent. Drawing comparisons to Love, the Buffalo Springfield, and The Byrds, Fat Mattress is harmony-heavy and tuneful psychedelia. Though it was well received by critics at the time, sales were slow and Redding soon left the group. In the intervening years, though, Fat Mattress's fantastic debut has come to be known as a lost classic of psychedelic rock and this high-quality gatefold 180-gram LP reissue is a welcome relief from high-priced originals. Essential for fans of both Jimi Hendrix and psychedelic folk-rock.

180-gram LP. Limited edition of 500. Originally released in 1975 on the BirdsNest label, the sole album by boogie stompers Agnes Strange is an obscure hard rock gem begging to be rediscovered. Formed in Southampton, UK, in the mid-'70s by Alan Green (bass), Dave Rodwell (drums), and John Westwood (guitar, vocals), Agnes Strange failed to reach any glory or fame, but their legacy of heavy rock riffs, raw leads, and tough attitude -- with a spacey Hawkwind-esque touch here and there -- helped them reach cult status among '70s rock fanatics.

180-gram LP. Gatefold sleeve. Limited edition of 500. Originating in Hatfield, UK, in 1967, Octopus released their lone LP, Restless Night, in 1971 on the Penny Farthing label. Produced by Tony Murray of The Troggs, the album bridges the gap between '60s psychedelia and a harder-edged '70s sound, drawing on the obvious touchstones of the time including Lennon/McCartney, Argent/Blunstone, and the brothers Davies and Gibb. But Octopus had the songwriting and playing chops to make this album much more than an also-ran; with hooks galore, swirling organ, and fuzz-tone guitars, Restless Nights is a prime piece of early-'70s UK psychedelia that's rare as hen's teeth in its original form.

Limited-edition 180-gram LP. Originally released in 1967, this sought-after obscurity of British psychedelic pop is a delightful confection of high harmonies and a Beatles-via-California melodic sensibility. Twee in the best way possible, The Picadilly Line was essentially the duo of Rod Edwards and Roger Hand (who would go on to greater fame as Edwards Hand, releasing two albums produced by George Martin), with help from the cream of the UK's session musician crop and some expert horn and string arrangers. With whimsical slice-of-life lyrics and a true ear for melody, The Huge World of Emily Small is a classic piece of UK pop-psych available again on LP for the first time since 2006.

180-gram vinyl. The sole album from unhinged UK psychedelic mod rock outfit John's Children, recorded in 1966, right before Marc Bolan joined the band. Produced by The Yardbirds' manager Simon Napier-Bell, who referred to them as "positively the worst group I'd ever seen," John's Children's debut LP was shelved for three years due to its then-unthinkable title, Orgasm, and released only in 1970, on the US White Whale label. Acclaimed by many as precursors of glam rock for both their theatrics and music, John's Children quickly disbanded in 1968, leaving behind a half-dozen singles ranking among the most collectible British '60s rock artifacts ever.

The Good, the Bad & The 4 Skins is the debut LP -- originally released on the British Secret label in 1982 -- from East London Oi! legends The 4 Skins. Recorded with the first stable lineup after numerous changes, fronted by legendary vocalist Panther (who stepped in after original singer Gary Hodges's defection), this is violent, political, and as real as Oi! gets; one of the absolute classic LPs of the genre. Featuring studio recordings on side A and amped-up live versions of such Oi! classics as "A.C.A.B." and "Chaos" on side B, the album remains a coherent punk masterwork, which also happens to include -- in the first song of the LP, "Plastic Gangsters" -- one of the best British two-tone ska tracks of all time, composed and sung by 4 Skins' original drummer Gary Hitchcock. A classic LP reissued for a new generation of skins and punk/Oi! fans of all stripes. The first release on Radiation Deluxe Series, this classic punk LP is reissued on 180-gram vinyl in a deluxe 350-gram cardboard sleeve.

Originally released a mere eight months after their groundbreaking 1978 self-titled debut LP (RAD 8002LP), The Kids' second album is a pure masterpiece of straightforward punk rock. A little less raw than their previous material, but still far from the new wave sounds the band started experimenting with on their following records, Naughty Kids remains one of the best examples of non-UK '70s punk and definitely a mandatory addition to the collection of any Killed by Death fanatic! This reissue also includes five bonus tracks recorded live in 1978. The third release on Radiation Deluxe Series, this classic punk LP is reissued on 180-gram vinyl in a deluxe 350-gram cardboard sleeve.
