"Finally the first of a multi-part remix series arrives on Revolver Canada. 'The Recollection Series Remixes Vol. 1' is an exploration of early catalog classics, re-contextualized by some of our favorite artists. A three continent extravaganza of Philadelphia's Someone Else, Basel's Shaka and Tokyo's Akiko Kiyama, taking turns on mixing our catalog. America vs. Japan with Switzerland in the middle, just like WW2 ;) It seemed appropriate that the first EP contains remixes of tracks that defined the forthcoming careers of artists that essentially started on Revolver Canada, including Pan/Tone, Jeff Milligan and Deadbeat. French Canada vs. English Canada. Side A) 1. Jeff Milligan And Robin Roy's 'Due Corde' (Someone Else's Okonomiyaki Remix): Rolling back to '99... Sean delivers a killer remix that isn't particularly different from the original cause of course the original is so delectable. Side B) 1. Pan/Tone's 'Gringo Grinder' (Shaka's Swiss Cheese Remix): A nice and appropriate, cerebral take on Pan/Tone's old school sound. Side B) 2. Deadbeat's 'Miso' (Akiko Kiyama's Miso Butter Remix)."

"We at Revolver are proud to introduce Mitsuaki Komamura to the world of electronic music with his stunning first EP. He claims to have been born in the mountains of Nagano in a mushroom patch and raised by singing insects (and allegedly birds too). Here he refines and defines as we see the emerging sound of Japanese minimal coming to fruition. With the work of stellar labels like Fumiya Tanaka's opDisc, and new artists like Akiko Kiyama and Mitsuaki, we at Revolver Canada think the innovation within this music genre continues to span from the east of Europe, to the far east of Asia, soon to be emerging influences on the West. A few months ago, Jeff and Mitsuaki hung out in Shinagawa at a good friends' dojo, combing over tracks alongside some tall cans of Asahi. Once the Japanese alcohol allergy kicked in, all decisions were made."

"Shaka's work has appeared on Floppy Funk, Morris Audio and Citisport to name a few. A few releases from now, Shaka appears again as a guest remixer of Pan/tone on our upcoming Revolver Canada remix series. Side A1. 'Störenfried' - The A-side as an easy mix, a perfect DJ tool. Intricate percussion and chords lay down smooth. Side B1. 'Des Vogel's Frühling' - a beautiful, deep, optimistic track with brooding, melancholic harmonies and an old school acid bassline. Laid back and easy. Side B2. 'Population' - a definitive house track which screams of summertime."

"Revolver Canada is proud to release the debut first 12" of our first American signing, North Carolina's James Thomason. James' sound is filled to the brim with soul and sophistication. Straddling the fine line between minimal techno and deep house, the Quilted Jacket EP is all of the above and more. In James own words... 'It's that from the hip, no bullshit, this is what I want, and this is what I do -- and that's all there is.' Time-tested and true, this record could have come out years ago or well into the future and still be fresh and innovative. An instant classic."

"Quirky, dark and hooky minimal techno from another Canadian talent to watch. The second installment from our friend J. Hunsberger. an Ontario originator, J. is one of the founding artists of what emerged from Ontario alongside Mike Shannon, Deadbeat, and other producers. This EP has J.'s signature humour written all over it. Minimal house goes eskimo as J. composes vocals and other found sounds from Inuit recordings from our Canadian northwest."

2002 release. "In his production works, Jay utilizes his own vocals as a primary sample source, synthesizing his speech into percussion, strings and bass that are pushed to a point where that the sample source is unrecognizable. His work continues to entertain and leave us guessing whats next from this underrated producer."

2003 release, available again. "Our third and most highly anticipated 12" from Montreal Canada's Marc Leclair (aka Akufen). 'The Sentinel' and 'Siamese Twins' are smooth and melodic classics that Marc wrote over three years ago, prior to his radio edit/microsample signature style."
