QUINTESSE 086EP

It's about time for the first release of this true master of deep jazzy house, Shaka! Shaka has an impressive list of releases, ranging back to the mid '90s with some raw techno up to now with releases on Local Talk or his own label Vibes and Grooves for some serious deep house. His Four Flowers EP has plenty of soul soothing jazz-funk grooves nailed to a deep house beat and you just feel that Shaka is a real musician. These four tracks are hot ingredients!

"Shaka's work has appeared on Floppy Funk, Morris Audio and Citisport to name a few. A few releases from now, Shaka appears again as a guest remixer of Pan/tone on our upcoming Revolver Canada remix series. Side A1. 'Störenfried' - The A-side as an easy mix, a perfect DJ tool. Intricate percussion and chords lay down smooth. Side B1. 'Des Vogel's Frühling' - a beautiful, deep, optimistic track with brooding, melancholic harmonies and an old school acid bassline. Laid back and easy. Side B2. 'Population' - a definitive house track which screams of summertime."

FLOPPY 003EP

"After the much-appreciated first two Floppy Funk releases, here's another example of Floppy's funk and deepness! Some Kind Of... from Shaka is a diverse, old schoolish yet modern techno record. A killer record we think! The A-side offers the club groover 'First One' and the beautiful deep Detroitish 'Heitere Gemüter.' The B-side offers a re-release: 'Erfolgsgeblubber' was released on Morris Audio Citysport a year ago, but has been getting superb feedback (e.g. Steve Bug: 'this is huge!') and we just love this early Warp styled bleeper! Finishing off this well rounded EP, Shaka comes up with some great jazzy electronic trickery called 'Phalonmukka.' Great stuff for open-minded freaks, and well worth checkin' Shaka's upcoming stuff on Revolver and his remix of Pan/Tone's 'Gringo Grinder!'"
