Rhythm Section International, the impossible-to-define label founded in South East London by Bradley Zero in 2014 has reached the ripe old age of ten years. Funny thing is, it feels like it could have been almost double that. It's hard to imagine the Landscape of the London music scene without this foundational force whose influence is felt more than ever. With this special anniversary release, the label takes stock at this milestone to present a compilation in three parts: Past, Re-Imagined, and Future, to honor the label's tradition of always paying homage to what has come before while setting sights firmly forwards. With 100-odd releases in their extended back catalogue covering every imaginable style and boasting influence in every inhabited continent on earth, it's been quite a decade for the independent label, which began on a shoestring budget with funds made via the now legendary Rhythm Section pool hall parties in Peckham. From humble beginnings to an era defining output - few would have predicted the slow and steady rise of the imprint and the impact it has had on generations of DJ's, musicians and listeners -- at home and abroad. Spanning six discs and 30 tracks, the compilation begins by presenting one track from each year of the labels output -- highlighting some forgotten classics from the archives over the first two discs. For discs three and four, the label invited its stable of artists to pick a track from the back catalogue to re-imagine in their own style. This process resulted in some incredibly playful contributions from the likes of Ruf Dug, Session Victim, and Private Joy -- whose playful reinterpretations add new depth to old material. Finally, the last two discs are entirely new material for 2024, carrying the torch of the previous SHOUTS compilations -- whose sole aim is to shine light on new music from emerging artists. Featuring Prequel, Silentjay X Jace XL, Dan Kye, Mallard, Duke Hugh, Vels Trio, Astroturismo, Nicola Cruz, Special Feelings, Retiree, Local Artist, Jerome Thomas, MMYYKK, The Colours That Rise, CATO, Hiatt Db, Klein Zage, Wallace, Retromigration & Monty DJ, Bamao Yendé & Low Jack, RONI, Gayance, Magi Merlin & funkywhat, Pinty & Tomos, DJ Pitch & MLE, douniah & Dhanya, Nitai Hershkovits & Rejoicer, Frank Liin, and Cousin Kula.

Neue Grafik (known to friends as Fred) has successfully transplanted from Parisian rookie to one-man London Institution. Beginning as a solo producer and DJ, Fred spread his wings upon relocating to South London -- at first with his Neue Grafik Ensemble and later with his now iconic twice-weekly Orii Jam -- the latter of which has given agency to an entire new generation of musicians; spawning an aesthetic, nurturing a unique sound and becoming a launchpad for countless artists. Dalston Tape Vol. 1 is Fred's attempt to fall back in love with beatmaking -- taking it back to the roots of where the project began. Since his early MPC-led productions on Parisian label, Beat X Changers, Fred has learnt to play the keys to a concert hall standard, he has become proficient in double bass and built up a dense network of collaborators who he has composed, recorded, engineered and produced for both at home in SE London and in the iconic Total Refreshment Centre Studios in Dalston. This experience adds unavoidable dimensions to his toolbox -- resulting in something more akin to a miniature-magnum-opus than a simple beat-tape. Yes, there are the influences of Pete Rock, Mad Lib, J Dilla, and Al Dobson Jr, but there is also the musicality of D'Aneglo, James Blake, and live contributions from an ever-growing army of young graduates of the Orii School. Featuring Brother Portrait, Max Mckenzie, and Selina Jones.

Having become one of the most instantly recognizable voices in UK hip-hop over the past few years, with a slew of heralded releases on Blah Records, London-based rapper CLBRKS (AKA Conrad Brooks) prepares to release his new LP CLBELLIC via Bradley Zero's heralded imprint Rhythm Section. This new offering sees Conrad linking up with Finnish producer NickyDiesel to deliver an eleven-track excursion, delving into a brooding sonic palette influenced by the gritty and foreboding essence of classic New Yorkian gangster video games such as Max Payne and Grand Theft Auto IV. Painting images of eerie nocturnal backdrops and various nefarious activities, the album perfectly matches Nicky's grainy and neck-snap inducing production alongside Conrad's off-kilter and often-hilarious lyrics. Speaking on the inspirations behind the album, CLBRKS says "Obviously the main inspiration for the project is the character Niko Bellic from GTA IV, my favorite of the series. I think Nikis full name being Nikolai has something to do with it, and at the time I was playing a lot of Max Payne which is another Rockstar production game, and also a collaboration with Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment I think Niki being half Russian was probably also an inspiring factor in some strange way! I think that's why the areas we filmed in were so suitable to the theme, and the dark eerie vibe that the original video game gives off." Full to the brim of razor-sharp wordplay and hazy, jazz-tinged beats -- this is one record to soundtrack side missions all summer long.

With a namesake derived from the mighty Prince's catalogue, and its lustful connotations, Private Joy is the producer of soul band Lovescene and a supreme vocalist of the Manchester scene. With collaborations working with the likes of Ruf Dug, Finn, and Lenzman, a solo EP was inevitable and a statement this is. Pops Roberts' first solo EP debuts on Rhythm Section INTL bringing together influences from Streetsoul, '80s "babymaker' RnB records and a slice of '00s soulful house in there for good measure. In just over 18 minutes, Private Joy welcomes you into her world of sensuality and soulful warmth. Musical hugs galore, the production balances synths, harps, saxophones, tight beats and meaningful lyrical content; eschewing millennial whoops for Sade indebted dulcet tones. Each track draws from personal experience; be it heartbreak or reconnection, an emotional diary conveying the trials and tribulations of love, loss and ultimately, desire. Featuring Ada Francis.

Gallegos, first name Oliver, deals in feelings rather than genres. The productions on his debut effort for RS INTL channel a '90s rave euphoria. Luscious pads swirl amidst pitched down jungle drums, celestial strings and philosophical vocal snippets that evoke ecstatic joy. It's no mean feat to induce a feeling of elation without the means of a synthetic intervention -- but Ollie seems to have cracked the code -- taking listeners there with harmony, texture and rhythm alone -- nothing synthetic here: this is alchemy at play. The EP -- which in all honesty feels more like a mini album -- is a real journey across five songs and 29 minutes. It's about equally split between driving rhythmic compositions created with movement in mind, and pensive ambient detours that are more sonic meditations than anything else. The album reaches its most dizzying heights when these two elements come together in unison for the title track, "Memories You've Memorised" -- a widely road-tested future classic which blends scattered Juno chords, arpeggiated church organ and 80s vocal samples to a tear-jerking crescendo. "Memories You've Memorised" elevates Oliver Gallegos to the top tier of modern electronic composition. There's comparisons to be made to Primal Scream, Underworld, and even Aphex Twin, - but after all is said and done, this is the coming of age of a future pioneer.

Boulderhead debuts on Rhythm Section International with his most expansive EP to date, I Need Space to Dance. The Bristol based producer, known for his intricately crafted, up tempo club records has long been a favorite at RS HQ and has, over the years, garnered much respect from a plethora of influential DJs. His most recent hit "Bread, Butter, Noodles, Spice," was a festival earworm and one of the most played underground tracks of 2023. Existing in the sweet spot between tech-house, prog, broken beat and minimal techno -- this EP sees Boulderhead widen his sonic palette with a collection of songs that showcase his versatility. Equally appealing to the Ricardo Villalobos contingent as it will be to those delving into the history of progressive house and the golden days of minimal techno. Despite the many different bases the EP touches on -- the sound pallet and production are unified and coherent. Henry is at the top of his game, and much like contemporary artists like Adam Pits, Priori, and Russell EL Butler -- his style screams ALBUM!

Renowned for their boundary-pushing sonic explorations, Klein Zage and Joey G II join forces to deliver a captivating fusion of spoken word and electronic beats in their latest collaborative EP, New Cross To Ridgewood, inspired by their time living together in South London. The EP promises an immersive auditory experience that transcends genre boundaries featuring remixes from Local Artist, DJ Python, and Ariel Zetina. The EP marks a return to the stripped back musical style Zage became known for early in her career on Orphan Records, such as Womanhood EP and the sensational "The Sayers" on the 2022 edition of Shouts. The record effortlessly blends the ethereal spoken word prowess of Klein Zage with the electronic breaks wizardry of Joey G II. The duo's ability to seamlessly merge spoken word poetry with innovative electronic soundscapes creates a unique and compelling listening journey that captivates from start to finish. Adding to the allure of the EP are the remix contributions from three distinct artists, each bringing their own perspective to the project. For fans of: System Olympia, Parris, Yu Su, Galcher Lustwerk, Loraine James, Upsammy, Anz, DJ Sports, Reckonwrong, Bored Lord, Call Super, Huerco S, Pender Street Steppers.

Feeling like the first shot of sunshine after a long winter, Cousin Kula sound instantly recognizable yet gloriously renewed on their second album Vitamin D. If their debut album Double Dinners (RS 046LP, 2022) was the soundtrack to your heartbreak then this is the sound of falling back in love again. Even the titles of the tracklist -- "Clothes Off," "Staying With You," "Good Feeling" -- boldly set the coordinates for this new body of work. From the opening wash of searing synth chords, bouncing bass, wailing guitar lines and flutters of flute, it's abundantly clear this is a feel-good album. Label boss, Bradley Zero exclaims "I think it's fair to say that the band have shaken off the collective cobwebs and are ready for a summer of love!" Vitamin D is for the lovers, but also for the dancers. Cousin Kula have expanded their vocabulary but also learnt when to just sit back in the groove. Funk and disco have permeated their psychedelic indie-soul sound and it's all the better for it. A quintet of virtuosic musicians, flexing when necessary but more often than not stripping it right back and reveling in the pocket. It's a rare case of perfect thematic and musical synergy.

Perth-born, Naarm-based duo Special Feelings, aka Naomi Robinson and Poli-Pearl, are stepping up on Bradley Zero's Rhythm Section label with their first LP. Across its nine tracks, Special Feelings combines the electrically improvisational feel of live performances, with snappy broken beat-esque percussions and house-inspired looping synth hooks. Tapping into the infectious collaborative spirit of Naarm's jazz community, Special Feelings are joined by a crew of the city's rising artists. Early iterations of Special Feelings' music drew on psychedelic sun-dappled rock, with Naomi playing guitar and singing alongside Poli-Pearl on the drums. Over the years, this has shapeshifted into Naomi on bass and rhythms, with Poli-Pearl helming synths and keys -- rooted in the sounds of Perth's and London's jazz of the moment, intertwined with Brainfeeder-nodding electronica. Today, Special Feelings' influences span from the deep grooves of Moodymann to the freewheeling horns of Emma Jean Thackray to the stepping drums of Kaidi Thatham, and beyond. Both Naomi and Poli-Pearl are self-taught multiinstrumentalists and producers; Naomi got her start playing in high school dream pop bands, before moving to Naarm to immerse herself in its musical communities, and study classical guitar at the University of Melbourne.

Who is Toby Cato? On first inspection he's a painter, rapper, singer, composer, filmmaker, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, born in Brighton and based in Southeast London. Dive a little deeper into his universe (no exaggeration) and it's almost jarring how well developed, highly considered and how expertly these seemingly separate strings to Cato's bow are executed. What makes it all the more impressive is that he's a self-taught 23-year-old. He's won prizes for his animations, was a finalist in the Nicholas Daley x Fred Perry Music Grant (where Bradley Zero -- as a judge alongside Gilles Peterson and Nubya Garcia, first came across him) and his paintings are sold and exhibited worldwide. The son of a renowned Jamaican-British writer, historian and social commentator -- Cato clearly grew up in a creatively liberated household -- going some way to explain the ease with which he wrestles heavy subject matter across multiple mediums. Would it be hyperbole to call him a renaissance man? Cato might brush off this label, free falling through life: one moment at a time. "I'm only one man. Time and again, I'm falling, but holding onto my pen for the moment." And with this, humble assertion -- you witness an artist, not falling -- but flowing, in fact -- overflowing across six tracks on this -- his debut mixtape. For fans of: Cosmo Pyke, King Krule, Bakar, Yellowdays, Toro Y Moi, Blood Orange. Artwork hand drawn on by Cato. Edition of 300; numbered sleeve.

Sometimes writing press releases is really hard. There's a certain artwork to summing up the essence of a composition to someone who hasn't yet heard the music. Thankfully, this is not the case with the latest EP from Manchester's Hidden Spheres. Tom is in his purple period -- and after nearly a decade of releasing delicately constructed songs that sit in the hinterland between dancefloor and home listening, he's finally cracked the code for creating absolute bangers, with all the class and lightness of touch present from his previous work. Hidden Spheres is in turbo mode -- and you've most likely heard these tunes without knowing it -- "Tanzen" has been a staple in Bradley Zero's set and always caused complete dancefloor destruction. Add in the Italo-flavored Paula Tape remix and you have one of the most exciting dancefloor propositions of 2023. For fans of: Paula Tape, Laurence Guy, Shinichiro Yokota, Palms Trax, Seb Wildblood, FYI Chris.

Klein Zage veers away from dance music and into a world of innovative alt pop with an emotional portrayal of fondness, detachment, and monotony. Sage Redman (aka Klein Zage) has moved around from Seattle, to South East London, and now finds herself in upstate New York. She has always kept close a desire to reinvent herself as an artist against this backdrop of ever-changing scenery. Klein Zage established herself with previous releases on her own label, Orphan, which she runs with long term collaborator Joey G ii (real name Joe Gillick). Her previous work fuses electronic sounds with spoken social commentaries about themes of the city, femininity, and the hospitality industry. Sage's new album, Feed The Dog, is her debut release on Rhythm Section INTL. These songs have a feel of disassociated longing. A sort of serene, catatonic beauty that leaves an inwardly emotional imprint. After the music finds time to sit with the listener, Klein's poetic vision becomes even more sublime. Written in a combination of Seattle, a remote Washington fjord called Hood Canal, and London, her music covers a lot of ground. The album is full of songs that merge lines of ethereal dream pop over to left field synth-heavy incantations bursting with electronic energy and haunting ambience. Feed The Dog may sound like a transformation of the former Klein Zage sound. But this is the music she's always been making. Her career-long ambitions have come to fruition with these songs, and now seems like a perfect time for people to hear them. In her own words, Sage says the album "is about the mundane, the routines that tether you to reality, caring for a living breathing being that needs you. Defending the ones you love." These themes, apart from being a literal ode to her dog Steves, provide a metaphor for a defining moment in Klein's career as a musician and lyricist. Feed The Dog is another evolution of Klein Zage's sound as she reinterprets her own creativity once again. This constantly shifting motion is something that has always been with her through each musical endeavor. And will carry on to the next, wherever her artistic direction takes you. For fans of: Eyedress, King Krule, Portishead, FKA Twigs, Cocteau Twins, Otta, WOOM, Tirzah, Salami Rose, Joe Lewis, Homeshake, Ojerime, Ibeyi.

Wallace has been something of a behind the scenes phenomenon. Having just two official releases at the time of writing, alongside a few white-labels on his own Tartan imprint -- the man known as Wallace has somehow worked his way into the record bags of the world's biggest DJs: Gilles Peterson, Hunee, Moxie, Ruf Dug, Gideon, and beyond. It's only a matter of time before the wider dance music community catches on and it wouldn't be surprising if by the time this record hits the shelves, Wallace-mania is in full effect. An artist like this only comes along once in a blue moon. Wallace has been quietly perfecting his craft for the last decade, and has a deep understanding of club dynamics that can't be taught. Bradley Zero himself has been playing four to five Wallace tracks per set within the last year alone. Luckily for you, the secret is out! Gayance joins forces with Rhythm Section International for her debut album Mascarade. A swaying dance that moves between poetic, soulful odes to the past, accounts of the Afro-diasporic feminine experience and playfully energetic dancefloor grooves. Mascarade is a collection of dancey, broken rhythms, interwoven with heartfelt stories and bright, unapologetic outpours of joy. In her own words, "It's the story of my 20s. I wanted to pay homage to this kid everybody knew, but not deeply. It's about taking back a power that is mine and was always in my hands -- It's about making peace with the past and moving forward." Gayance (real name Aïsha Vertus) takes her alias from the Haitian creole word for joyfulness. Based in Amsterdam, born and raised in Montreal-Nord, she started as a DJ in 2013, and has toured the world with shows in Paris, Brooklyn, Marrakech, Berlin, Sao Paulo, and more, bringing electrifying and contagious energy wherever she goes. Her own production is influenced by underground UKG and the respective house scenes of Detroit and New York, with nods to the vivid, sun-soaked colors of Latin America. Shades of blues, jazz, and gospel can also be heard in her newest project, pulling together styles from each corner of the world. Following her catalog of entirely self-released projects, Gayance announces her full-length debut album on Rhythm Section, bringing some fellow Montrealers along for the ride. Features Janet King, Hua Li, Sarah MK, Judith Little D, and Raveen. For fans of: Laroi, Pierre Kwenders, Hua Li, Dego, Jitwam, Neue Grafik, Tenderlonious, Steve Spacek, Kaidi Tatham, Andrew Ashong.

2023 repress; LP version. Yellow marbled vinyl. MMYYKK's Science EP arrives at a time when the world needs it. The eponymous title track is about recognizing the power and connection that we all have to the cosmos -- and it feels like no coincidence that this body of work arrives in 2021. The EP balances universal themes with playfulness; asks hard questions relating to accountability and materiality whilst remaining musically cohesive and funky throughout. An exceedingly difficult artist to pigeonhole, MMYYKK (pronounced Mike) works concurrently within the realms of soul, jazz, hip hop, R&B and ambient; his sound equally indebted to his fellow west-coast natives Thundercat and Flying Lotus as it is to synth experimentalists Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder. Whilst MMYYKK operates as the multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer, and engineer across all six tracks, you can still hear the richness of improvisation musical collaboration involved in the making of this record, with numerous cameos from artists in MMYYKK's adopted hometown of Minneapolis as well as a feature from London's very own Demae. The city of Minneapolis, whilst not addressed directly in the lyrics, provided a backdrop like no other whilst this album was coming together. Being at the epicenter of such a tragedy had a profound effect on the formation of the EP... "The city was literally burning..." MMYYKK recalls as he goes on to explain that tackling themes such as police reform, reparations and accountability in his work is his way of taking a stand in the fight for justice. Despite the grief prevalent in the city, the EP exudes a complex "dopeness", executed so effortlessly it belies the skill involved in the process -- it's precisely this nonchalant cool that defines what Science means to the artist. While you can dissect the inspirations and trace the lineage of this body of work -- the result is singular. It's clear that Mychal Fisher, aka MMYYKK, is operating on his own terms, in a lane of his own -- and making it look easy. For fans of: The Internet, Thundercat, Flying Lotus, Moonchild, Robert Glasper, MNDSGN, Anderson .Paak.

Back in 2015, Mancunian DJ and producer Hidden Spheres aka Tom Harris joined the Rhythm Section family for the label's twelfth release. Storming into 2022 and approaching 50 releases, Tom has a long overdue return to the label with a synthesis of electronic house vibrations. You Are Not Your Body is a stellar collection of five tracks, which touch on the sensations of euphoria and the blissed-out intersection between early prog and Detroit House. Channeling energies for meditation and self-love, things kick off with "Improvisation" an electro infused eight-minute workout, whilst "Euan 92" is a festival-defining "hands-in-the-air" anthem tried and tested by Bradley Zero on the road throughout 2021. "Love Your Body" is a delightful disco-esque chugger reinforcing joyful energies and an infectious bassline to keep you wiggling on the dancefloor. Things come to a close with a spaced-out Balearic house remix by RS family favorite Ruf Dug. Self Oscillation is made up of five club-ready psychedelic workouts swaying with natural momentum, from Ecuadorian superstar Nicola Cruz, who makes his second appearance on London's Rhythm Section INTL. The internationally renowned producer, Nicola Cruz, has been instrumental in pioneering the sound of Andean music over the last decade. Born and raised in Ecuador, Nicola has found his own unique way to tap into Latin America's illustrious musical past to create something utterly contemporary. His previous projects have had the four elements running through as major themes: Fire and lava erupted during his sophomore album, Siku, with an Ecuadorian volcano doubling up as a recording space. And now, with his second Rhythm Section release, you are met with sounds of flowing water that Nicola describes as "aqueous explorations". On this EP, Self Oscillation, Nicola Cruz fuses experimental production techniques with underwater, bass-heavy constructions. Moods change like the tides; from euphoric highs with acid riffs and Latin drum patterns, the music quickly dives to moody submarine basslines and dark, frenetic rhythms. Self Oscillation sees Nicola's production move to new heights as he expertly bridges the gap between natural and mechanical sounds. With the help of iconic '80s and '90s synths and the retro colors of a Roland Space Echo, his newest work is a hybrid of electronic dance music and a synaesthetic image of nature. In the spirit of his previous EP on Rhythm Section INTL, Self Oscillation showcases the synergy -- or rather ongoing battle between the organic and inorganic, the analog and digital, civilization confronted and confounded by nature. It's within this dichotomy that Cruz revels, and manages to say so much, without words.

LP version. Transparent violet vinyl. The South-London based musician Tone announces his debut album So I Can See You, due for release via Rhythm Section. With a mixtape already under his belt, one that he says was thrown together on a whim; this new body of work was created during the pregnancy and subsequent birth of his daughter. Tone, real name Basil Anthony Harewood, was compelled to capture this significant moment, recording mostly at night, with his new life and old life in mind. The album is less a departure of who he was but an embrace of the future and the new life that arrives with beginning a family. Across the 11 tracks, you hear tender guitar riffs and off-beat R&B elements press up against influences of dub and shoegaze leaving you with a woozy afterglow. Tone's distinctive vocals are complemented by the familiar voices of Coby Sey on "So I Can See You", Fran Lobo on "From the North" and Roxanne Tataei on "Make It Drop". Having both Afro-Caribbean and Welsh heritage has informed the ways in which he sees things and the music he has been magnetized to, especially growing up in both a tiny village in the north of England in East Yorkshire as well as further afield in Europe. Time spent in St Kitts and Nevis as a child opened his eyes and ears to calypso, reggae and dub and while back home in the UK, he fell in love with ska, punk and skinhead culture none of which he ever outgrew and to this day still informs his music practice. Each track was recorded on a Tascam 38 tape machine in the studio he set up with Mica Levi and Coby Sey in Hither Green with the drums, played by Marc Pell (Good Bad Happy Sad) were recorded at Andy Ramsey's studio (Stereolab). Alongside, Levi and Sey, Tone is a CURL collective member and was half of the short-lived punk-duo, Farai. For fans of: Mica Levi, Tirzah, Coby Sey, Smerz, Blood Orange, Dean Blunt, Erika De Casier, Farai, L'rain, Joviale.

2023 repress. Session Victim debut on Rhythm Section International with an EP of understated but highly effective jazzy house rollers. Having cemented themselves as firm favorites on the Rhythm Section dancefloor over the years, the German duo step forward to present their debut EP on the South London label: Basic Instinct. Known for their unparalleled energy when performing live or DJing, Hauke and Matthias fly the flag for sample based, soulful house music and a commitment to the art of vinyl DJing. With the never-ending search for the perfect beat at the core of what they do, it was no surprise they found a deep affinity with Rhythm Section International over years of playing for each other, jamming in the studio and crossing paths at festivals and airports around the world. In short, this record was an inevitable culmination of two passionate, like-minded groups, a match made in Heaven and a long time coming. Despite hailing from the techno meccas of Berlin and Hamburg, Session Victim are direct descendants of the German jazzy housemasters, tracing inspiration from the likes of Jazzanova, Soulphiction, and Compost Records -- the likes of which have gone onto inspire a renaissance of this more soulful sound in German clubs, spearheaded by labels like Tartelet and Toy Tonics -- the latter of which the duo recently released an EP with. This latest effort on Rhythm Section International is a masterclass in restraint, demonstrating a deep understanding of dancefloor dynamics, putting the maxim "less is more" to great effect. The opening track, "Trying To Make it Home" is the most immediately engaging cut: a double bass riff drives along a Kerri Chandler-esque filtered piano pattern which gives way to a soaring gospel vocal, allowing the groove to take control as flutes, strings and occasional guitar licks meander in and out of the mix to create areal "heads down, arms up" moment for the dancefloor.

Bristol based band Cousin Kula announce their debut album, Double Dinners. With co-signs from the likes of BADBADNOTGOOD and newly signed to Rhythm Section, Cousin Kula have created their own musical universe of otherworldly pop serenity with vastly distinct, but complementary elements: "the possibilities of jazz, the emphatic energy of club culture, and the sonic tapestries of psychedelia" CLASH Magazine remark. Living and recording together, nestled in the sun-drenched hills on the outskirts of Bristol, Cousin Kula are masters of their craft, and also of restraint; widely regarded by their fans for their superior live show. Having performed live in various bands for the past ten years since their early teens, not being able to hit the stage during lockdown took its toll on these musicians. Ever resourceful, however, Cousin Kula began a series of their own home-made live sessions, which lead in turn to a Boiler Room Session and further a request from XL signees BADBADNOTGOOD to record a live adaptation of their new single. Now, Cousin Kula flutter into the collective consciousness with a timeless slice of psychedelic soul on debut album Double Dinners. The latest band to emerge out of the buoyant Bristol music scene, they have stripped back all excess baggage for their most accomplished recordings to date. Existing on a similar plane to contemporaries such as Connan Mockasin, Mildlife, Toro Y Moi, Mac DeMarco, and HOMESHAKE, the band caught the attention of renowned tastemaker Bradley Zero with their Casa Kula Cassette EP at the end of 2020, with the Rhythm Section founder swiftly taking the five-piece under his wing, with him commenting: "The band balance an outsider approach with more hooks than you can shake a stick at... the result being a gently beguiling sound that effortlessly draws you in, revealing more character with each listen." For fans of: Connan Mockasin, Mildlife, Toro Y Moi, Mac Demarco, HOMESHAKE, BADBADNOTGOOD.
