"Kwes calls his music 'free pop,' explaining: 'I feel my music fits around many heads of many sizes and mental dispositions.' 'Rollerblades' fits this theme and is a song about lost young love. It's beautiful, catchy, and is another insight into the musical mind of Kwes. B-Side 'Rosab' is a messed up, oneiric instrumental ode to his bike." Clear vinyl housed in a vellum sleeve.

"Lux is Brian Eno's first solo album on Warp Records and his first solo release since 2005's Another Day On Earth. It finds him expanding upon the types of themes and sonic textures that were present on such classic albums as Music for Films, Music for Airports, and Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks. Eno sees it as a continuation of his 'Music for Thinking' project that includes Discreet Music (1975) and Neroli (1993). Lux is one of Eno's most ambitious works to date; it is a 76 minute composition in twelve sections that evolved from a work currently housed in the Great Gallery of the Palace of Venaria in Turin, Italy. The album is Eno's third for Warp, following Small Craft on a Milk Sea (with Jon Hopkins and Leo Abrahams) and Drums Between the Bells (with Rick Holland)."

"Shields is the fourth and most fluid album by Grizzly Bear. The quartet of Chris Bear, Ed Droste, Daniel Rossen and Chris Taylor have never made a quick follow-up; it took them three years to get from Horn of Plenty to Yellow House, three more to get from Yellow House to Veckatimest. Between those records, though, they'd not only toured (headlining as well as with the likes of Radiohead, Feist, Wilco, TV on the Radio and more), but issued singles and splits, EPs, remixes and solo projects. The potential energy gathered in tour vans and buses, in studios and on stages for years was finally released, giving the individual band's pieces the chance to recover and, after a year, return to being Grizzly Bear, and delivering their best album yet. 'This has a different energy behind it,' concludes Ed Droste. 'Veckatimest was a little more of a polite album; the desire to keep the vocals smooth might have kept a little distance between us and the audience. This one feels a bit more rough and exposed, so that on Shields, everything speaks for itself.'"

"The Hundred In The Hands have emerged from their dimly-lit New York studio with a self-produced meditation on separation and reunion, love nearly lost and the long night back to it; a chronicle of late-hour pining awash in digital glow and urban buzzing. The first single from Red Night, Keep It Low is a grinding jam that foregrounds the sounds of timeless Industrial and Krautrock tracks, whilst maintaining an undeniably affecting vocal performance from singer Eleanore Everdell. Exclusive to this 12" is previously unreleased b-side 'Mountains,' a dubbed-out track with lurid vocal inflections."

12" EP version. "Kwes is best known as a hot young producer from the underground of East London. Having worked with Damon Albarn, Micachu and the Shapes, The XX, Speech Debelle and many more, his production work (as well as remixes for Hot Chip, Zero 7, Jealous Guys ..etc.) has garnered him 'in-demand' status. But it's his own music that is going to put him in the ears of the global musicloving population in 2012. His Warp Records debut, Meantime sees Kwes' finest collection of compositions yet. An EP that twinkles to life by layering synths over rustling field recordings and sparkling xylophones. It's smart pop music, ready for the radio but void of pandering; home-schooled but meticulously studied."

"MU.ZZ.LE although short in length, is long on message - political, social and spiritual interpretations that define him as an artist. Written on the road, it was an outlet for Gonjasufi to challenge himself. It's the response to all the adrenaline, aggression and anger he felt traveling the world, it's a spectrum of his creativity and a testimony of how one man's passion and determination is often misunderstood as anger. 'There's a duality that exists and to deny it, is the biggest mistake'. The albums down tempo strings, heartbreaking soul, reanimated hip-hop and crackling haunting vocal stylings are stitched as a running thread throughout each song like a patchwork quilt. It's a lonely journey that will take you through the innermost thoughts of Gonjasufi's darkest hours. He recorded and mixed it on his own in his home studio surrounded by his family and the stark contrast of the Mojave Desert. The end product is his outlet and realization for who he is, a way for him to feel comfortable in his own skin again. Akin to discovering a gramophone recording fraught with emotive compositions, it's like finding that hidden gem, the one you can truly relate with. It's the way of dealing with the issues of modern man; oppressed by power, freedom of speech, living your life by a book, dealing with the MU.ZZ.LE that's firmly attached around your mouth." "New York five-piece My Best Fiend deal in epic, hypnotic melodies that cross the emotional and experiential spectrums. The band's current incarnation was formed in 2009, and since then, they've been winning over audiences with their live sound and dynamic performances. Higher Palms is a mesmerizing new track, not designed to shrink into the background, with each note, chord and vocal demanding your full attention. The 7" is backed with a remix from new jack Young Montana (Alpha Pup) who's fresh off an acclaimed debut LP, giving MBF his beat chop style on a hypercolor canvas, saturated with soul and lit with innovation."

2LP version. "Following in the footsteps of artists like David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and Depeche Mode, who have flocked to Berlin in order to mainline the city's legendary dark energy, !!! traveled to the German capital to produce a record that is simultaneously brooding and somehow their poppiest, most immediate record yet. On the one hand, Strange Weather, Isn't It? is !!!'s most texturally rich record to date and is filled with deep, galvanizing grooves in the tradition of 2003's 'Me and Giuliani Down By the Schoolyard (A True Story)' and their mega anthem 'Heart of Hearts.' On the other, there's a dark undercurrent running through the record that acts as a counterpoint to the glittering surfaces. In other words, although only 25% of the record was recorded in Berlin (the other 75% split between New York and Sacramento, California), Strange Weather, Isn't It? is the perfect Berlin album."

12" vinyl version, printed inner sleeve. "This Desert strikes a path that touches on elegant French pop, blissed out dub, house and post-punk. The 6-track EP sets the stage for deeper explorations on a full-length this fall (2010). The Brooklyn-based duo consisting of Jason Friedman and Eleanore Everdell creates emotionally charged and intensely driving music, which harks back to the most classic of dance songs from NYC's storied underground. The band describes the EP as, 'The more ethereal, gauzy side of our tastes; the Summertime-Gothic and dreamy tracks we made thinking they'd go well with open hydrants and looks that kill.' But The Hundred in the Hands' self-description belies more than just a dance band. Everdell and Friedman bend and blend styles, sounds and eras into something that doesn't feel confused, fake or forced. It just feels fun."

UK-only Warp release from 2006, not issued in the U.S. "Mira Calix, former record shop manager, DJ & boundary blurring songwriter presents her third album. It's beautiful & delicate, hypnotic & uplifting. It's out-there. But it's in-here too! It features a melee of sound including strings, piano, a glockenspiel, buzzing beats, ghostly voices and a children's choir multilayered with field recordings of birds, leaves, water and snow melting. There's even the sound of an old bamboo xylophone slowly crumbling apart. Such aural enjoyment invites the listener to conjure up personal visions of the landscapes and color that inspired this magical album. Just as the pauses between & during the songs are elegantly arranged, like oxygen allowing the music to breath and come alive, so too are the three spaces, like three silent beats, used in the title of the record, 'Eyes Set Against The Sun' Chantal Passamonte aka Mira Calix is adored by the media due to her all-encompassing involvement with the arts. From gigs in planetariums to commissions and collaborations, she composes for installations, plays, dances, circuses, operas and festivals. She's quite a girl!"

"Alexander's Annexe is an ensemble comprised of three distinct artists, Mira Calix, David Sheppard & Sarah Nicolls and Push Door to Exit is their debut release. Having met whilst on tour with the London Sinfonietta, Alexander's Annexe began working on a composition commissioned by Italy's Ravello Festival that fused instruments with electronics. Push Door To Exit is a beautiful yet mysterious piece of music composed entirely on the piano. It overturns all preconceptions you may have about the grandest instrument in the classical lexicon! Composed, unconventionally, with Sarah Nicolls playing the piano, Mira Calix creating recordings from inside the piano & manipulating sounds with a microphone and David feeding the piano and overall mix into his computer & developing the results. At just under 30 minutes in length, this specially-priced limited edition is an essential composition for avant garde/classical music fans." Limited Warp UK-only release.

"Jamie Lidell, soul vocalist extraordinaire, is finally set to release his first solo recordings in five years! Erstwhile co-pilot in the digi-funk colossus Super_Collider (alongside Cristian Vogel), Jamie Lidell has spent the intervening period since 2001 conquering, nay, vanquishing, the stage with a blazing solo live show, (costume and live VJ enhanced), pitched somewhere between 'a 21st century reincarnation of Little Richard' with 'a soul voice fried in honey like Sly Stone or Prince, and a beatboxing talent to make Muhammad Ali quake in his Everlast,' delivering time and again 'a thrilling, visceral performance,' 'pure, visceral power: a scintillating display of demented musical and physical energy,' both 'exhilarating' and 'astounding,' A British soul vocalist beyond your wildest imagination, , Jamie Lidell has crafted a twisted R&B album with all the hallmarks of a vintage classic. Multiply is a refreshingly modern update that retains all the power, pop and emotion of singers like Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, Al Green and even peak period Michael Jackson, immersed in the energy and virtuosity of production masterminds like Quincy Jones or Herbie Hancock, done in inimitable Jamie Lidell style. Hold onto your hats, ladies and gentleman -- a new vocal star is about to take flight."

"The second single to be taken from the forthcoming Making Bones long player. 'The Sleepless' introduces the lyrical might of MC Det. You may remember Det from his days as an integral part of the S.O.U.R. roster, or on the seminal East London pirate Kool FM with DJ Brockie, or more recently on occasion on Radio 1's 'One In The Jungle'. Here he showcases his amazing vocal dexterity, forging an incredible partnership with the Snappers. Continuing to work with the finest and most innovative remixers around, the single has also been given the remix treatment by the notorious Shut Up & Dance duo. The results are fantastic."

"The first single to be lifted from their excellent Making Bones album. A proper call to arms. Aimed straight at your jugular, Red Snapper are back and it feels good. 'Bogeyman' is a slice of rolling, brassy, funk with that real Snapper twist. Joining the hardcore trio of Richard Thair (drums), David Ayers (guitar) and Ali Friend (double bass), trumpet intelligence is supplied by the legend Byron Wallen. The result is distinctive and utterly infectious." Includes remixes by David Holmes and Two Lone Swordsman.
