LP version. 180 gram vinyl. Includes download code. For nearly three decades sought-after musician, producer and machine enthusiast Niklas Worgt has researched diverse club sound effects with countless projects, while singer Eva Padberg is an internationally renowned high fashion model. Since 2003, they have been traveling and performing together as Dapayk & Padberg. Each of their albums is a sound logbook, which captures memories in the form of beats, tunes and skits. On Sink This Ship (MFP 081EP, 2016), the Berlin-based duo provided a first glimpse of what you can expect from Dapayk & Padberg in 2017, with their new album Harbour. This time, from the foggy depths of Scotland, their journey brought them to the sea, where Dapayk & Padberg anchored and found their temporary port - a place to take a deep breath and slow down, re-energize and let the energy flow freely. Allowing "the self-assurance to try everything in all directions" Eva Padberg says of album number five. Two very distinct places have had a special influence on the genesis of Harbour: The first ideas were collected in 2015 in Camargue in Provence, amongst panoramic views of fragrant lavender fields and extensive vineyards. After half of the tracks had already been recorded, both computers with all nearly finished song material were stolen - a crucial break for Dapayk & Padberg. Both started a second attempt in the spring of 2016 - this time recording in the rural seclusion of Brandenburg just outside of Berlin. Programmed loops combine with Eva's associative, metaphoric lyrics to form gentle, flowing, and sometimes stormy interplay. "Harbour", the title track, with its choked downbeats and the over-dreamy vocals, reveals the stylistic direction of the whole album. Almost seamlessly it fades into the softly pumping love declaration "Watching Over You", followed by the playful "U-Camargue". The melancholic "Sink This Ship" has an asynchronous rhythm that is softened by touching classical strings in the end. The slightly jazzy "Just Be Found" was influenced by trip-hop mixed with noisy radio samples and fragile vocals. Dapayk & Padberg's very own interpretation of late-night pop can be heard on "Nightshades". In addition to the regular tracks you will find selected skits, short instrumental scores that connect the individual songs atmospherically. The album ends on a conciliatory orchestral note with the '90s hip-hop and ambient-triggered instrumental "The Field".

On "Sink This Ship", Padberg unfolds her matured voice, which shows more confidence than on previous records. Dapayk skillfully puts her voice in a common scenery, where the straight beats are long over and where is space for extravagances and inventiveness. Robot Koch and Bebetta remix the track, ensuring suitability for the dance floor. Robot Koch skillfully disassembles. building on the emotional base of Padberg's vocal part and Dapayk's warm bass line. On the flip side, the slight melancholy of the original track gives way for a typical Bebetta tech-house beat that flows in a dreamy, yet simply irresistible manner.

Following the success of their fourth studio album Smoke (MFP 067CD/LP, 2013) and a year-plus tour, Dapayk & Padberg present "Come Out," a fresh and present track and the perfect tool to dance into spring and out of thick winter clothing. On the B-side the Berlin-based electronic duo presents two more album remixes. Mooryc wraps "Smoke" in his fragile, soulful, and bass-driven slow-mo-electronica. Dublin's Eomac extends the list of "Silent Fireworks" remixes. A deep wobbling sub-bass combined with broken beats and spheric pad sounds give the original an eccentric touch of dubstep.

Dapayk & Padberg welcome the autumn season with Layers. The original version, from their 2013 album Smoke (MFP 067CD/LP), is a delicately-written piece of slowly-evolving poetry, and it's presented here wrapped in interwoven coats. The new clubby "Layer 3" version by Dapayk & Padberg is haute musique, leaving not only a warm shiver in your head but also salt on your skin. Chloe's remix follows, with impressive minimalistic clarity. The B-side features a jazzy remix by Rampa, who gives the song a light accent of playfulness.

Mo's Ferry presents the first remix from the album Smoke (MFP 067CD/LP) by Dapayk & Padberg. Marek Hemmann turns the track "Fireworks" into a lively, ear-catching hymn for every sun-worshipper. He makes use of the full toolbox -- from ultra-harmonic bass-lines to pleasing melodies. Dapayk sat down again and formed a new version of this track with focus on danceability. The remix grooves into your ear but retains the longing mood of the original version by spreading the lead vocals in far distance. The second track on the B-side is the album version, for comparison.

In September 2013, Mo's Ferry presented the fourth album Smoke (MFP 067CD/LP) by Dapayk & Padberg. After their last album on Stil Vor Talent in 2012, the duo now opens the door to a gloomy-melancholic world. Dapayk & Padberg consciously turn their back on the dancefloor and abandon the formerly typical balancing act between club sound and listening electronica. Even though the A-side of the present single is certainly made for the DJs, it shall be the sole exception to their current creative path. The downtempo version of "Smoke" on the B-side already reveals the new Dapayk & Padberg uneasy listening mixture.

Gatefold double LP version with download code. Change, transformation, development -- these have always been the motor behind Berlin electronic duo Dapayk & Padberg. On their fourth album, they have made, perhaps, the most uncompromising step during their 10-year career, in which they have become one of Europe's most fascinating club acts. Their magic formula? Looking for alternatives. With Smoke, they bid a temporary farewell to the dancefloor. They are taking new paths, searching, trying new, never-before-seen patterns. These paths led the duo from the golden hills of Provence to the dark, autumnal lowlands at the border between Scotland and England. The influence of those places is felt throughout the whole record with its atmospheric hybrid tracks. After their album Sweet Nothings (SVT 073CD), with its summery/ funky sound, Dapayk & Padberg now open the door to a gloomy, melancholic world. While Sweet Nothings was a balancing act between the club and home-listening electronic, the duo now turns their back on the dancefloor to take the listener on an acoustic tour through their personal Amber Room. With their chamber-electro mix, containing characteristics of dubstep, catchy pop-elements, classical string arrangements and a singer/songwriter-like intimacy, they create new sound-rooms. Dapayk & Padberg's albums have always been snapshots of their current emotional world -- with Smoke they created their most consistent and self-contained collection of songs to date. Against all expectations, sometimes even against their own natures as artists, they let go of all-too familiar and comfortable structures. Smoke is all about overcoming those lines between different genres, letting go, opening their mind to the new, without worrying about fitting into a certain niche or having to compromise. "Silent Fireworks," with its song-like structure, brings to mind the hymns of Lamb, Jamie Woon or James Blake. Eva's voice delivers a broken intimacy which is carried by Niklas' adventurous and sophisticated sound structures. The hypnotic "No Words" starts out with Eva's ethereal, fragile vocals spun around a dry, blurred electronic track which then explodes into a huge, unknown universe of sounds. "Headless Queen" was inspired by the imprisonment and execution of Mary Queen of Scots in 1587. The inspiration for the album title came not only from those cold days spent in Scotland but also has its historic routes in Niklas' family tree. "My grandmother is a true well of inspiration. She told me that she was faintly related to the Austrian painter Oskar Kokoschka, so I decided to name one of my projects Kokoschka. But also, that there was a blood relative on her side of the family who came from England by the name of Smoke. The name has been spooking around in my head for years and I always wanted to name an EP or track after it. We thought that it was an excellent title for the album."

Dapayk & Padberg reveal their next EP on Mo's Ferry. "Don't Sleep" lives up to its name. Due to this pushing track, everyone jumps up remote-controlled on the dancefloor, and the idea of falling asleep has no chance to enter your head. Plus, there's a cherry on the cake: a remix by Tiefschwarz.

After the release of Sweet Nothings (SVT 073CD), Dapayk & Padberg treat you to a 12" consisting of a sunny selection of the album's core material. "Berlin Summer Nights" is nothing short of an anthem: classic rave sounds of epic proportions glide through an arrangement of bouncy beats, crisp percussive work and hopeful vocals until a powerful breakdown delivers the hands-in-the-air moment. "The Sun Came Up" bedazzles with a pumping beat and robotic vocals, and "Too Lazy" is a brooding after-hours number.

Niklas Worgt and Eva Padberg aka Dapayk & Padberg join the Stil vor Talent family for their third full-length effort. Similar to their previous LP oeuvre, as well as Dapayk's solo work, one is simply astonished by the diversity, intertextuality, coherence and playfulness of the end result, something that must be attributed to the experienced duo's wide-ranging set of influences. Work on the LP stretched across several continents. From the beach on Bali, via Miami, Los Angeles, Berlin and a ski chalet in the Austrian Alps, stunning and remote locations were to be the spectacular backdrop for Dapayk & Padberg's creative process. Thus, one encounters soft and harsh sound textures, dark and light images, sonic euphoria and sadness as well as lyrics of love and loss throughout the tour de force that is Sweet Nothings. Things kick off with the trippy "Too Lazy," a brooding afterhours number, which is equal parts paranoid and mesmerizing as a wonky bass vibrates under dubbed-out pads, eerie synths and vocal whispers. Next, "Play" immediately delivers the antidote, reversing the evening's proceedings back to the peak-time. On the title track, Dapayk & Padberg's sound takes another turn, presenting us with a deep but forceful groover, whose distorted high-hats and trancey synth-stabs create a vibe both euphoric and weirdly subdued. The lyrics, moreover, emphasize the duality at the core of the album. "Fluffy Clouds" does quite the opposite to what its title suggests -- rather than being a soft little piece, we are treated to big-room techno fodder à la Berghain. A skeletal framework of heavy kicks, dark pads, white noise and dense metallics works relentlessly underneath a cold spoken word. Machine funk par excellence. "Endless Game" leaves the four-by-four rhythm behind in favor of a broken beat structure. A shuddering bass and affectless vocal reminds of The Knife's wonderfully weird moments. "The Sun Came Up" rounds off the mechanical triplet with a pumping beat and robotic vocals, while a progressive synth lead helps along the track's love lyrics, turning this into a truly stunning moment at the album's heart. With the sharp glockenspiel and old-school hip-hop beat of "Razorskit," Dapayk & Padberg crafted a short interlude to cleanse the palate, before the gear is shifted once more on "Berlin Summer Nights." Anthem alert: classic rave sounds of epic proportions glide through an arrangement of bouncy beats, crisp percussive work and hopeful vocals until a powerful breakdown delivers the hands-in-the-air moment. Continuing seamlessly, the vocals on "Take These Scissors" nod to Karin Dreijer Andersson, which is further underpinned by the playful and airy arrangement of weird sounds. "Backyard" enchants thanks to mystical lyrics sung over a deep quasi-dubstep structure. "Continental Drift" is similarly confident as Padberg's sexy vocals compliment a slow, fat beat and progressive pads. "Driveby Beauty" offers a final surprise by speeding things up once more: ambient soundscapes float over organic beats, while classic vocal house motifs are left to work their magic effortlessly. All that is left once the last notes play out, is an intense longing for more.

In advance of the release of Dapayk & Padberg's third full-length, Sweet Nothings, the experienced duo offer the Fluffy Cloud EP, which showcases three of the album's many diverse highlights. "Sweet Nothings" is a deep and forceful groover, whose distorted high-hats and trancey synth-stabs create a vibe both euphoric and weirdly subdued. "Backyard" enchants thanks to mystical lyrics sung beautifully over a deep quasi-dubstep structure. "Fluffy Clouds" is big-room techno fodder à la Berghain. Machine-funk par excellence.

"Berlin duo Dapayk & Padberg consist of respected producer Niklas Worgt and vocalist (and part time supermodel) Eva Padberg. Their debut 'Close Up' in 2005 burst brightly and found its authors riding high on the best album & live act lists of magazines like Groove and De:Bug. This, their second collaborative album, is a fresh mix of sharp techno, heavy percussion and acerbic lyrics directed at the superficial and super fickle amongst us."

"Their debut album Close Up created a stir in late 2005 and the Dapayk solo album, Impulsion Parasite backed up the position of Mo's Ferry Prod. as a label for remarkable minimal tunes one year later. Now, after almost two years of silence around the Dapayk & Padberg project, Eva Padberg and Niklas Worgt aka Dapayk return with a brand-new collaborative masterpiece. By the way, for all of you who think of Naomi Campbell when hearing the album title -- give it another thought. Actually, what's meant by 'Black Beauty' is the vinyl record itself. Mo's Ferry 30 is coming as a prerelease single and its focus is the central topic of the album: the continuity of vinyl as a sound medium for electronic music. On the single Dapayk & Padberg take off with two versions of the eponymous track. The A-side contains the first DJ-tool with a slowly developing arrangement and a kind of 'is it possible to put in another bass?!' style. Dark, rocking, compelling! The B-side presents 'Black Beauty' in the dress of 10+ minutes' afterhour edit. While producing this version, Dapayk must have immersed himself in the long morning to early afternoon hours on some open air location. Analog, soft and with a haunting groove for the late (or already early) slots of the party-lineup."

Remixes by Falko Brocksiper, Lump, Someone Else, Marcel Knopf. "MFP019 really is a firework! Music made with heart and soul. Beautiful, this deep Brocksieper Mix -- it's flow is one of the finest. A2: a romantic Lump, who will reel filled flews in, after having thrown his seductive bait on the 'Love Fish Sea Bottom' of the club landscapes. And yet, there is someone else!? Someone Else, who is mixing the vocals in the finest manner on B1 -- as always -- an airy inciting and pushing mixture for a t_time of doozy. 'Use Your Arms,' Marcel Knopf! If your legs might be a bit weak after the first three mixes, you can swing your arms right now into the air and sink into a rocking broken beat after a gap that hardly can be reached."
