"Only four days after Donovan's nineteenth birthday his successful debut album What's Bin Did and What's Bin Hid was released. It contains his popular hit single 'Catch the Wind'. The music primarily consists of Donovan singing and playing mouth harp and acoustic guitar. Although Donovan was hailed as the British answer to Bob Dylan when he first emerged, his debut album actually established him as a distinctive talent in his own right."

The best of Donovan, live from 1965-1969. Donovan Leitch burst into the UK hit parade in March 1965 with a #4 hit for Pye Records in "Catch The Wind". This recording had been preceded by a three-week run on the TV program Ready Steady Go, unprecedented for an artist yet to release his first record. While Granada had Ready Steady Go, the BBC had a handful of contemporary light programs for radio to host the "happening" current acts such as Saturday Club, Folk Room, and later; Nightride and Top Gear. Here, you travel back to 1965, where Donovan made numerous consecutive trips into BBC's Paris Theatre Studios, presented here are his best performed tracks between 1965-1969, accompanying himself on guitar with additional stand-up bass provided by Spike Heatley and Danny Thompson. This landmark release also includes fascinating interviews with host Brian Matthew. Digitally remastered, first time on vinyl. Orange color, 180 gram vinyl; hand-numbered fold-over sleeve, with insert.

2005 remaster of Donovans' 2nd album, originally released by Epic Records in 1967. Part 2 of the UK-only series celebrating Donovan's 40th year in music. "...with Donovan's voice richer and more resonant than ever in this new transfer, and the arrangements by John Cameron and John Paul Jones now fully exposed and heard in all the timbres that were present in the studio; this is a sonic delight as well a spellbinding mix of psychedelia, blues, folk, Eastern music, and pop like nothing else that Columbia or any other major label -- except EMI and Capitol with the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album -- was releasing in 1967. It's been augmented with ten bonus tracks, three previously released ('Epistle to Dippy,' 'Preachin' Love,' 'There Is a Mountain'), but making their debut with truly killer sound so that you can even hear the action on the strings of the acoustic guitar deep in the mix of 'There Is a Mountain,' and six previously unissued demos, solo acoustic, and some works-in-progress, including early incarnations of evolving songs such as 'Good Time' and another attempt at 'Superlungs' where Donovan gets into some surprising pop and garage rock grooves, respectively.' --All Music Guide.
