"The Fall's fourth studio album Perverted by Language was released in 1983. The album was produced by the band's vocalist and songwriter Mark E. Smith and recorded at various studios in Manchester. Perverted by Language features some of The Fall's most renowned tracks, including 'Garden.' The album's sound is characterized by its sharp and angular post-punk guitar riffs, driven by a heavy bass and drums rhythm section, all layered with Mark E. Smith's distinctive vocals. Lyrically, Perverted by Language deals with themes of alienation, disorder, and the unpredictability of modern life. Smith's idiosyncratic and cryptic wordplay, including his penchant for inventing new words and phrases, adds to the album's overall sense of unease and dislocation. Despite its challenging sound and lyrics, Perverted by Language is considered by many critics and fans to be one of The Fall's finest albums, showcasing the band at their creative and innovative peak. The album is available on black vinyl and includes an insert."

"Grotesque (After The Gramme) is the third studio album by the Fall. The album reached number one on the UK Independent Chart, spending 29 weeks on the chart in total. The Fall's music at the time was described as 'Mancabilly,' and by Smith himself as 'Country and Northern.' In 2020, Rolling Stone included Grotesque (After The Gramme) in its '80 Greatest albums of 1980' list, praising the band for its 'ability to craft impossibly catchy songs that simultaneously sound like they're shaking apart at the seams.' Grotesque (After The Gramme) is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on translucent yellow colored vinyl and includes an insert."

Red vinyl. "The Marshall Suite is the 1999 album by The Fall. The album builds on the techno-influenced beats of its predecessor Levitate, while also returning to a more rockabilly-influenced sound reminiscent of earlier Fall line-ups with songs such as the catchy 'Touch Sensitive' and the strange, complex, thumping jungle beats of 'The Crying Marshal'. The Marshall Suite was made immediately after an American tour during which Mark E. Smith had an onstage fight with members of the band and was arrested following ongoing altercations at the hotel at which the group were staying. While the remaining band members quit and returned to England, leaving Smith in a cell in Manhattan, Julia Nagle chose to stay in the band, helping to assemble the group's new line-up. During the recording of the album, this new line-up was still taking shape and the album features two different bassists. None the less it was very well-received album at the time and highly collectible by now. The Marshall Suite is now available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on translucent red colored vinyl. It features 3 sides of music and a blank D-side."

Reissue, originally released in 1981. 77-Early Years-79 is a compilation of the band's first four singles, all originally issued on Step Forward Records. One album track ("Dice Man" from Dragnet) is also included, and a CD reissue in 2000 adds two tracks from the various artists compilation Short Circuit: Live at the Electric Ballroom, from the same time. 2002's Early Singles drops "Dice Man" and adds three singles recorded for Kamera Records in 1981 and 1982, with their B-sides. In 2003, tracks from the Step Forward singles and two albums recorded for the label were selected for It's the New Thing! (The Step Forward Years). The first of multiple Fall compilation albums and certainly one of the most valuable.

Reissue, originally released in 1979. Founded by its only constant member, Mark E. Smith, The Fall formed in Manchester in 1976 and were one of the most prominent post-punk groups in the world. Musically, there may have been several stylistic changes over the years, but it was often characterized by an abrasive guitar-driven sound and frequent use of repetition, always underpinned by Smith's distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics. Dragnet is the second studio album -- released October 26th, 1979. Originally released through record label Step-Forward, it predicated two major factors in the group's career -- high productivity and high group turnover. The album has historically garnered excellent reviews. Featuring the one-and-only Mark E. Smith alongside Steve Hanley (bass), Marc Riley (guitar), Craig Scanlon (guitar), Mike Leigh (drums), Kay Carroll (backing vocals), and Yvonne Pawlett (keyboards).

Reissue, originally released in March 1979 through record label Step-Forward. The debut studio album by The Fall. Despite its title, it is not a live album. The album was recorded at Camden Sound Suite on December 15th, 1978 and mixed by producer Bob Sargeant the next day. The group had been booked into the studio for a week but Mark E. Smith had fallen ill, leading to the cancellation of the first three days. Some songs dated from earlier incarnations of the group with both Tony Friel and Una Baines featuring on the writing credits.

"The Fall were an English post-punk group, formed in 1976 in Prestwich, Greater Manchester. They underwent many line-up changes, with vocalist and founder Mark E. Smith as the only constant member. A journalist once described them as 'a kind of Northern English magic realism that mixed industrial grime with the unearthly and uncanny,' voiced through a 'one-note delivery somewhere between amphetamine-spiked rant and alcohol-addled yarn.' It was the favorite band from the legendary BBC disc jockey John Peel. The Light User Syndrome is The Fall's 18th album. The crisp live edge to the recording is very well done, and it's one of their most abrasive and hard-hitting albums of the '90s. It features the popular tracks 'Spinetrap', 'Oleano', 'Hostile', and 'He Pep!'. In addition, they recorded a cover version of Johnny Paycheck's 'Stay Away (Old White Train)'. The double-LP set The Light User Syndrome is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on silver color vinyl."

Clear vinyl. "I've had the pleasure of being a [The] Fall fan since I was a teen. I was lucky enough to have some guidance from my local record shop stoner-lords. They turned me on to many of my heroes, but once I heard my first slanted and barky Fall song, I was part of the army for life. The word prolific gets tossed around a lot. It almost seems like a slag-off in the press, as if they wish the artist would produce less so they wouldn't have to do their self-imposed job of judging releases for the rabble. The Fall is subjected to this lazy word often. Yet I can honestly say that I am so thankful for any nugget of Fall that lands at my feet and in my brain. Live Fall performances are always a pleasure because they seem to take what already made the Fall great and push it even a bit more into the rough and bloody uncharted wasteland that is drug scorched proto-punk and heady political poetry. So, it is with great pleasure that we introduce this Fall bootleg soundboard recording to you. Recorded during one of the many strong points in the bands vast and mighty history. They really burn bright here and bring every ounce of what you expect from this formidable force. We have reached out to every surviving member of the band, the sound person, the bootlegger who recorded it and the photographer and received their blessings and help piecing it all together. Castle Face will be donating 50% of our profits to Centrepoint, which helps the homeless in the Manchester area get back on their feet, so the local and deserving Fall fans get a little, and give a little back, too. Nothing but the hits here folks and as raw as you dig it. This one really is exceptional in terms of live sound for The Fall. All the stars were aligned over St. Helens that eve. And it wouldn't be complete with a bit of Fall fan saltiness so, fuck you too, Jason." --John Dwyer

"In the summer of 1981, The Fall embarked on their second American tour, criss-crossing the States over a two-month period. Featuring the dual guitar of Marc Riley and Craig Scanlon and rhythm section of Stephen Hanley and Karl Burns, A Part Of America Therein, 1981 would document this fabled journey with crucial performances that show the band evolve from noisemaking lout cultists into true post-punk legends. 'From the riot-torn streets of Manchester, England to the scenic sewers of Chicago...' as the album opens unforgettably with a nameless promoter introducing The Fall, who proceed to tear into a hypnotic take on 'The N.W.R.A.' stretched into a near stare-down that is wholly different than the studio version on Grotesque. The LP highlights Mark E. Smith's incomparable bite, heard most notably on the adlibbed vitriol of 'Totally Wired,' where not even the costumed punks were safe from a proper dressing down. A Part Of America Therein, 1981 proves once again that The Fall's constant rally against complacency was a top-down directive and intrinsic to their wonderful and frightening sound. Superior Viaduct's edition is the first time that this album has been available on vinyl domestically since its initial release in 1982. Liner notes by Brian Turner."

2023 repress. "If The Fall truly is a cult band, then Slates both benefits from and reinforces such shrouded obsessions. In presenting these six particular songs as a 10-inch EP, the inherent and attractive difficulty of The Fall's sound is made physical, framing the urgency of their singles from this period (notably How I Wrote 'Elastic Man' and Lie Dream of a Casino Soul) alongside lengthy rumblings normally restricted to long players. The tumbling and phased 'Middle Mass' begins on an incredible high note, segueing into the snake-charm hypnotism of 'An Older Lover Etc.' 'Slates, Slags, Etc.' is built on stretched VU-inspired riffing, complete with ace feedback bleed that doubtlessly went on long after fade-out. Ultimately, it's the piercing chimes of guitar and marching drum grind of 'Prole Art Threat' that elevates Slates beyond oddity. Truly one of Mark E. Smith's finest, busiest and most enigmatic performances, equally matched by a band at the peak of their powers. LP edition compiles the six tracks from the original EP release, their March 1981 Peel session and an early '80s studio outtake. Liner notes by Brian Turner."

"The Fall were an English post-punk band, formed in Manchester in 1976. The band existed until 2018 and was essentially built around its founder and only constant member Mark E. Smith. Initially associated with the punk movement of the late 1970s, the group's music went through several stylistic changes over the years, but is often characterized by an abrasive guitar-driven sound and frequent use of repetition, and is always underpinned by Smith's distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics. The band is noted for its prolific output and released over 25 studio albums (more than triple that counting live albums and other releases). They never achieved widespread public success beyond a handful of minor hit singles in the late 1980s, but maintained a strong cult following. The band were long associated with BBC disc jockey John Peel, who championed them from early on in their career and cited The Fall as his favorite band, famously explaining, 'They are always different; they are always the same.' Are You Are Missing Winner is the twenty-second album by British post-punk band the Fall, released in November 2001. Since the bands last record Mark E Smith had replaced the entire line up. The album was recorded very quickly and very much on the cheap and band member Ben Pritchard described it as a very miserable experience. The influence of Rockabilly is very much seen throughout the album and saw them covering Lead Belly's 'The Bourgeois Blues'. This re-issue of the 2001 album comes with three bonus discs, live sets recorded at The Knitting Factory, The Garage and the ATP Festival. As with the other Fall reissues these have notes by Fall guru Daryl Easlea and have been mastered by long time engineer Andy Pearce."

"The expanded 3-CD follow up to the iconic now out of print 50,000 Fall Fans Can't be Wrong compilation, now features songs right up to the groups last album. Compiled and annotated by long time Fall aficionado Daryl Easlea from across all the labels the band has appeared on. The booklet designed by long time Fall designer Becky Stewart contains a track by track overview. Mastered by Andy Pearce from the best sources available. Formed in Manchester in 1976, Fall were a seminal English post-punk group. The group existed in some form from that point on, built around its founder and only constant member, the late, great Mark E. Smith. Initially associated with the punk movement of the late 1970s, the group's music underwent stylistic changes over the years, but was always characterized by an abrasive guitar-driven sound and frequent use of repetition, underpinned by Smith's distinctive vocals and often cryptic lyrics. 2021 repress. "Given The Fall's penchant for iconoclasm, it's no surprise that they decided to say goodbye to the '70s with a series of gigs at Northern England's gruffest halls. The band's formidable live show was met with even more derision and disorder than customary during these late '79 and early '80 performances, and they skillfully amplified such sentiments back at the crowd. Totale's Turns, The Fall's first live album, was released on Rough Trade just prior to their pivotal third album, 1980's Grotesque. 'The difference between you and us is that we have brains,' shouts Mark E. Smith to open Totale's Turns as the band breaks into the rollicking 'Fiery Jack,' their latest single at the time. Each player is at their jagged best: Marc Riley and Craig Scanlon's splintering guitars, Steve Hanley's thunderous bass and Smith's combative sneer reverberate over 'Rowche Rumble,' 'Choc-Stock,' and 'Spectre Vs. Rector' more than any studio would ever allow. Totale's Turns never panders to live-record conventions, serving instead as a gripping exhibit of The Fall en masse and arguably the most accurate document of the group to date. Superior Viaduct's edition is the first time that Totale's Turns has been available on vinyl domestically. Liner notes by Brian Turner."

2022 repress. "The Rough Trade Singles collects The Fall's four singles recorded for this influential label in 1980 and 1983 -- How I Wrote 'Elastic Man' / City Hobgoblins, Totally Wired / Putta Block, The Man Whose Head Expanded / Ludd Gang and Kicker Conspiracy -- none of which appeared on any of the band's studio LPs. With 7-inches being the era's vehicle for buzzing communiqués, The Fall would use the format for short-form, standalone works rather than as mere promotional devices for forthcoming albums. 'Totally Wired' is often cited (and rightfully so) as The Fall's most infectious tune -- an amphetamine-fueled anthem with stuttering nods to forebears, yet too incisive to have been made by anyone else. 'How I Wrote 'Elastic Man'' is another mad hoedown, one reimagined for the post-punk age. While the playful rhythm machine on 'The Man Whose Head Expanded' almost suggests danceability, Mark E. Smith's idiosyncratic shriek on 'Kicker Conspiracy' pierces through the twin drumming of Paul Hanley and Karl Burns and the group's unpredictable/unmistakable racket. Together these songs remain some of the absolute best material The Fall would ever release. Superior Viaduct's edition is the first time that The Rough Trade Singles has been available on vinyl domestically. Liner notes by Brian Turner."
