QUINTESSE 087EP

Hailing from the south of Italy, Nico Lahs is a man of many tasks. Besides running the great Cosmic Rhythm label, Nico has more than a decade of quality house music releases on labels like Moods & Grooves, Local Talk, Omena, Delusions of Grandeur, or Josh Wink's Ovum under his belt. Easy Loving You shows his diverse skills: proper club trax ("Keep On Groovin'"), freaky yet groovy stuff (well... "Freakin'"), emotional deep house ("Come Get Me"), and raw and deep tunes ("Easy Loving You"), Nico Lahs can do it all!

In the three years since Nico Lahs debuted on Ovum Recordings with his Clouded Visions EP, he has continued to display a talent for creating deep soundscapes, in releases on Poker Flat Recordings, 8bit Records, and Last Night On Earth. In his return to Ovum, Nico appears matured, but with a special rawness persisting. The A-side, "Tension," is great journey track that makes you want to close your eyes and get lost in the groove. On the B-side, Nico delivers "Absence," a track in his classic style that twists and turns, taking the listener on a beautiful ride.

Poker Flat Recordings drop more grooves via Nico Lahs. Kicking off with the epically deep "My Side," Nico drops some blissful, twisted, narcotic business. Berlin's Daniel Dexter provides a slightly tougher rework, dubbing out some sections before smashing home the kick-drum. "Symptoms" keeps the vibe going with nicely modulating synths, dub effects and chiming pads.

Ovum is excited to bring you the debut EP from Nico Lahs which delivers two incredible slices of deepness. The Clouded Visions EP harkens back to the classic early Ovum sound, but this is clearly a 2011 version of it. "Late Night" is deep but pumping for any dancefloor. "All I Desire" has a classic NY feel, with the only thing missing possibly being a husky male vocal. This track can take you back to the Shelter. Two amazing, deep productions.
