Here comes another adventure into contemporary techno music. After a continuous flow of high-quality output, Efdemin shared his studio again with label mate RNDM to get back to their beloved Pigon project. Once again, they show us how techno productions should sound: driving, sophisticated and full of deepness. Besides two outstanding techno tracks, the Sunrise Industry EP also includes a beautiful and weird journey into ambient music.

The third release by the Berlin-based duo Pigon (aka Efdemin & Rndm) takes a ride into deep house-flavored techno. Focusing on slow-evolving themes and hypnotic, stripped-down rhythms with slight changes, showing a very minimal approach to the music. Their influences range from warm, lush, Transmat-like techno soundscapes via the new deep-down Detroit movement. "Promises" was inspired by Louderbach's "Season 6," originally released on Enemy Love and contains samples from that track. Samples used with kind permission.

"Pigon is Phillip Sollmann and Oliver Kargl. Phillip Sollmann is also known as Efdemin. He studied electro acoustic recording in Vienna where he met art student Oliver Kargl, also known as DJ Rndm. Together they are involved in music production and performance, and the development of the 'Rocker' software drum machine. Most of Pigon's tracks are done live with simple edits of endless sessions with their self programmed 'Rocker' software. Influenced by Detroit techno, Pigon is always looking for the perfect simple loop with subtle variations to the single instruments. Little Albio Street (done in Vienna and Berlin) is the first release on Dial Rec. after their debut on Just recordings this year and goes deeper into the marshes of techno -- focusing on classical deepness compared with rhythmical shifting patterns. "During his studies of electroacoustic music in Vienna Efdemin (Phillip Sollmann), who releases solo on Dial, met art student and DJ Rndm (Oliver Kargl). Both were equally interested in minimal techno and ended up in the studio soon after. They soon decided to test their invention live and kept recording their sessions on stage and in the studio. From those sessions a very minimal yet warm aesthetic emerged. Their music has a peculiar swing and sound that would have not been possible without their selfmade software. After long days of browsing through megabyte after megabyte of their recordings, Pigon dug up the most interesting sections, applied some editing, added a few elements here and there and finally came up with 'Auf und Ab' und 'Hin und Her'."
