Can't Stop. There seems no better way to describe the work, party and music ethic of Solomun. Carrying the mirror ball on his shoulders like Atlas, it is impossible to imagine the modern disco world without his dynamics. While his countless DJ sets give fresh impetus to the many shades of house, techno and their siblings, conversely they are a driving force behind his studio and remix excursions. Can't Stop provides an impressive insight into his musical universe. Resulting from a rather casual after-dinner-listening-session during a car ride on Ibiza with a zesty Gerd Janson, who coaxed the title track out of Solomun making use of their friendship to full capacity, it is a triptych of direct, functional and free-spirited dance floor approach. After some back and forth in the search of the missing pieces to make it so, Solomun managed to deliver the perfect Running Back peak time record. While Can't Stop channels UK dance music highs through German engineering values, which makes it perfect for dance hall and car rides (yes, indeed!) alike, its heavy dub is constructed with fearless techno DJs in mind who like new beat excerpts, rave stabs and a lot of bass in equal parts. "Follow The Disco Ball" leads listeners back to the aforementioned Greek titan and can be read as a love letter to the genre that can be found in its name. Catchy, compelling and cool, it is a masterclass in user-friendly, yet edgy arrangement and dancing shoe compatibility.

Melodic house pioneer and Diynamic figurehead Solomun presents Selected Remixes 2009 - 2015, a compilation of some of his best-loved remixes from 2009 to 2015. Solomun's Selected Remixes 2009 - 2015 is a great overview of the multiple facets of his unique yet ever evolving production style. Hailing from Hamburg, he founded Diynamic in his hometown back in 2006. His unique style as a producer and DJ means he is widely revered by critics and fans alike, remaining in the top 26 and above in the coveted Resident Advisor top 100 DJs poll for the past five years, as well as hitting #4 in the site's most charted producers of 2011. Comprised of twenty-four tracks. Comes with customizable cover artwork and a pack of crayons, reflecting the "remix" concept. The first half displays Solomun's skill for crafting intelligent yet cross-over-ready reworks of both well-known and underground songs. Amongst these are some of the producer's most iconic tracks to date; the Solomun Vox Mix of Noir & Haze's "Around" , as well as his remix of "Let's Go Back feat. Romanthony" by Kraak & Smaak. His remix of Foals "Late Night" from 2013 also features, which, alongside "Around", has racked up over 30 million views on Youtube. Other offerings range from atmospheric takes on the likes of Lana Del Rey and Roisin Murphy, to the more deep and downbeat remix of Whilk & Misky's "Clap Your Hands". The largely vocal-less remixes on the second half allow Solomun's unique production style to shine through. The dark beats of his remix of Stimming's "Una Pena feat. Paulo Olarte" makes for an attention-grabbing start to the disc, whereas his dub mix of "A Love Bizarre" by So Phat! and Claude VonStroke's "The Clapping Track" shows his funkier side. Older remixes like that of "Magnetic North" by Palm Skin Productions and Marbert Rocel's "Cornflake Boy" prove Solomun's credentials with a traditional jacking house groove, underlined by those same distinctive lush basslines and melodic elements. Tiga & Audion's famous "Let's Go Dancing" draws the compilation to a close, demonstrating Solomun's skill for bringing an entirely new dimension to an already very well-known track. Also features remixes of songs by: Broken Bells, Ron Carroll & Superfunk, Tiefschwarz feat. Mama, Editors, Paul Kalkbrenner, Liu Bei, Luca C & Brigante, Josef Salvat, Edu Imbernon & Los Suruba, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Elekfantz, Tiger Stripes and Gunnar Stiller.

"Not knowing when the Dawn will come, / I open every Door" --Emily Dickinson. Diynamic label boss Solomun kicks off Zora with the title-track, a deliciously deep and sensuously slow-burning track with trademark melodies, colorful synths, and a huge, sweeping bassline that will really get floors moving."Fantazija" features big, rubbery kick drums, jittery percussive patterns, skewed bass, and trippy synths that all work to hypnotize listeners as they ride up and down the scale. "Nada" features a gritty guitar riff riding above rolling drums as tender synth motifs dance around the edges of the track, adding a real sense of emotion.

Diynamic boss Solomun is back with a fantastic new two-track EP, Samson. "Medea" is a deep, trippy, peak-time monster with a twist of house and techno. A bittersweet melody is dirty and tumultuous and comes in stabs and skewed slurs. "Samson" is a slower and deeper cut layered up with plenty of serene and widescreen pads. The epic breakdown is what really stands this track apart, though. A teary-eyed and super-emotive strings-only version complete with choral singing is also included and rounds out what is sure to be one of Solomun's biggest releases yet.

A mere 10 years old, Watergate has steadfastly become one of the world's most prominent electronic music institutions. This is due in no small part to its heady combination of picturesque location -- its dancefloors face directly out onto the river Spree -- a wall-to-wall LED light installation and its impeccable music policy, with the cream of the electronic crop passing through its doors every week. The mix CD series, now in its eleventh incarnation, is a further means for the club to stamp its seal onto the scene, with many of the club's residents and regular talents having been invited to contribute. Previous artists have included the likes of Tiefschwarz, Ellen Allien, Sascha Funke and dOP, amongst others. For the latest edition, Diynamic label boss and man of the moment Solomun takes up the mantle and demonstrates his own interpretation of club music. Within a short time, the Croatian-born Mladen Solomun has already climbed to the pinnacle of the international house music scene, while simultaneously currently holding a position as one of the most sought-after and in-demand remixers. His remix for Noir & Haze has eclipsed the 2 million view mark on YouTube, while his first contribution to Watergate Records -- a remix of Tiefschwarz's "Corporate Butcher" -- still resonates as a consensus crowd favorite. With Watergate 11, Solomun bestows his first mix CD upon the international market, stylistically splicing all the sounds one can expect to hear in his sets. With its many influences from funk to hip-hop, house to techno and garnished with his own unique edits, this mix shows Solomun -- the DJ -- deftly balancing vibrancy and consistency. Artists include: Alliance Ethnik, Lucy Pearl, The Supermen Lovers, Honom, Superfunk, Vindahl, Low Motion Disco, Heiko Voss, DJ Koze, Mathew Jonson, Sascha Funke, Dax Riders, Serge Santiago, Casino Times, Robag Wruhme and Gaelle.

LEENA 016EP
|
Solomun's Sisi is a sure extension of his impeccable production skills and style, and is also one of the most unique releases on Leena thus far. "Sisi" opens with a head-spinning explosion of notes and chords being fired out like sparks in a continual loop. Then halfway through, they stop, only to build again. "Talk To The Hand" is bass-heavy with euphoric piano chords in the second half, while "Curesto" brings all of the elements together with build-ups and drama.

2008 release. Hamburg-based Diynamic and its figurehead Solomun deliver their first label compilation. The 2CD compilation sees a selection of unreleased, exclusive tracks from H.O.S.H., Stimming, Trickski and more while those seeking a retrospective of the label get a mix deftly put together by Solomun of the label's highlights. CD1 is a treat for any fan of house music as every track is a piece of unreleased joy from some of the most reliable names around (a testament to the Diynamic A&R policy). Solomun & Stimming continue their enviable pairing with opening track "Lemniskate" as well as individual contributions, while other home-grown Diynamic star H.O.S.H. turns in his best work yet with the wonderfully kooky "Gartenarbeit." There's also some quality contributions from Trickski and Jay Shepheard as well as relatively new talent in the form of Solar & Poppcke. Old hands and Solomun's Innervisions labelmates Trickski serve up typically delightful deepness with "Your Lonely Nites" while relative newcomers Paulo Olarte and Solar & Poppcke display exactly why it's always worth keeping an eye on Diynamic and its ability to unearth gems. CD2 serves up a wonderfully-executed mix from Solomun. Known for warm, flowing sets with real depth as well as peaks, Solomun has pulled off the unenviable task of choosing highlights from a release schedule which features little in the way of "lowlights." Stimming & H.O.S.H's monstrous "Radar" and Guido Schneider's remix of "Feuervogel" by Stimming and Solomun sit alongside deeper house remixes from Motorcitysoul and Jimpster in a mix that builds, then delivers, in fine style. The only problem is picking a favorite, but then, that's the beauty. A must for fans of the label, a must for fans of any of the label's artists and a must for those who follow superb house music as either DJs or punters. Other artists include: Ost & Kjex, Gebrüder Ton, Anja Schneider, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Jerome Sydenham, Guido Schneider, and Einmusik.

"After several cooperations with his mates H.O.S.H. and Stimmig, and a lot of own releases on other labels, this is the first all-own EP of Solomun on Diynamic! You maybe won't believe it, but it's like that! And because home is the sweetest place on earth, we invite the guests we love and like in this case, we are fans of ourselves: Jamie Odell, better known as Jimpster or Audiomontage, who made a lot of deep tech-house hearts happy with his productions an his own label Freerange during the last years."

DES 074EP
|
2007 release. Solomun has been one of the moving spirits in Hamburg's electronic music scene. He hosts the beloved DIY club series and runs his own label imprint, Diynamic Music. This two-track EP features "Samba" on the A-side, spreading a warm, if twisted feeling, guaranteed to win over clubbers everywhere with its elaborate build-up. Little ups and downs keep the tension at maximum level, real edge of the seat stuff as you wonder what is going to happen next. On the B-side, "Lambada" keeps the good vibes coming with a fresh and versatile percussion set-up, a grooving bassline and a recurrent chord theme. All in all a very good reason to shake your booty.

DES 080EP
|
2008 release. "Woodstep" is a percussive trip to the heart of house, a tech-tinged groove peppered with strange tribal rhythms, evoking a midnight trek into the sultry tropical rainforest. On the flip, "No Comment," an analogue bubblebath of a bassline, propels a techier cut, where Detroit washes do battle with stepping keys, a crisp beat and belches of hissing smoke. Halfway through, a spoken word sample ushers in lush echoic piano chords, taking the track to the next level. Combining the heavily rhythmic bustle of classic house with the darker touch of techno in Solomun's own idiosyncratic and dancefloor-captivating way.
