DESOLAT 030X-EP
Loco Dice's Desolat label serves up a huge package from Russia's finest underground house and techno export, Tripmastaz. "Wax Mania" is a bulky techno roller with monstrous kicks, raved-up synth stabs, knocking percussion, and jazzy chords. "Taped Chrome," written and recorded in one session straight to tape, is an angst-ridden, edgy peak-time cut. The pinging rubber kicks of "Till Melted" sway beneath all sorts of withering and whirring synth lines -- a perfect freak-out tune. "F What You Heard" is a deeper house cut with a synth line that sucks you in as blocky drums stomp out a thick groove.

YKZ 002EP
Following its inaugural release from Quenum & Cesare vs Disorder (YKZ 001EP, 2015), Barcelona-based Yakazi Records continues its mission to move people. Tripmastaz aka Andrew Guyvoronsky is one of a few underground producers from Russia making serious tidal waves in the international dance community, with tracks featured on Fabric (FABRIC 123CD) and DJ-Kicks compilations. "Ain't Made 4 U" is a swirling house-funk journey; "Live from the Basement" takes a more minimal approach to percussive techno. Two remixes of "Ain't Made 4 U" follow: Christian Burkhardt & Andre Buljat return to the heady, peak-time dancefloor; Hitch delivers a rolling, hypnotic take.

BAO 032EP
Tripmastaz debuts with a full EP on Be As One. "House Syndrome" is truly an infectious tech-house stormer for the big stages, which is already being championed by the A-list DJs. "Constant Learning" is a proper tribal techno affair that combines a rolling groove with a catchy melody and an uplifting, summery mood. On the B-side, Tripmastaz takes things into deeper territories with "Quiet Hit Men," an acidic bassline worked around a machine groove. "Pende (Dub)" closes with an underground attitude.
