Barcelona based Yakazi imprint reaches its fifth installment in the form of a collaborative release by Chilean artists Alexi Delano and Marcelo Rosselot, also with a remix by Canadian Buchla wizard, Marc Houle. Alexi Delano joins forces with his studio fellow Marcelo Rosselot building up "Take Me" and "It's On Me", two finely-crafted excursions of heavy bass minimalism and dark vivacious techno, based on subtle vocal samples, trippy synth-chords, and layered drum patterns constantly evolving throughout both progressions sounding uniformly fantastic, without falling into the obviousness of a long steady beat narrative.

180-gram vinyl. The Barcelona-based Yakazi label follows Ain't Made 4 U by Tripmastaz (YKZ 002EP, 2015) with a blistering EP by German trio Rework (Daniel Varga, Michael Kübler, Sascha Hedgehog), who follow releases on Visionquest, Playhouse, Items & Things, Meant, and more. Here, they continue to reinvent their fresh and funky reimaginings of new wave disco; with "Acid Control," they find themselves in even darker territory than before, making things much more intense. Venezuelan duo Fur Coat (Sergio Muñoz and Israel Sunshine) deliver an Aphex-esque remix of "Acid Control," pairing deep, dark, driving beats with a rolling groove.

Following its inaugural release from Quenum & Cesare vs Disorder (YKZ 001EP, 2015), Barcelona-based Yakazi Records continues its mission to move people. Tripmastaz aka Andrew Guyvoronsky is one of a few underground producers from Russia making serious tidal waves in the international dance community, with tracks featured on Fabric (FABRIC 123CD) and DJ-Kicks compilations. "Ain't Made 4 U" is a swirling house-funk journey; "Live from the Basement" takes a more minimal approach to percussive techno. Two remixes of "Ain't Made 4 U" follow: Christian Burkhardt & Andre Buljat return to the heady, peak-time dancefloor; Hitch delivers a rolling, hypnotic take.

Cesare vs Disorder (Cesare Marchese) and Philip Quenum present Different Samba. It's the inaugural release on Barcelona-based label Yakazi, whose mission statement reads, "Our mission is to move people and our satisfaction comes from enjoying ourselves through music. Without music we would not be here." The EP features two originals backed up by two remixes, one from upcoming French producer Loquace and one from veteran artist Butane. Cesare vs Disorder and Quenum deliver a perfect combination of deep, down, dubby, and percussive sound -- they're both skillful and meticulous on their own, but together they take on a new potency.
