RELEASE DATE
2/2/2010
Almost 10 years after
Paul Kominek
aka
Turner
co-founded the Dial label, he now releases his long-awaited first album as
Pawel
. This debut comes out covered with silver typography on a white sleeve -- minimal and glittering -- just like Pawel's music. After first touching the techno music scene in Detroit-influenced Frankfurt, he moved to the melancholic, deep city of Hamburg. From here, Pawel started several trips around the world -- mainly South America and Asia. All of these locations melt together into the typical sound of Pawel. Tracks such as "Coke" and "Crillon" are deeply inspired by almost two decades of Detroit's Planet E-era, followed by new artists like
Patrice Scott
and
Omar S
. The Warp-alike "Muscles" features a touch of
Plaid
's elegance, but subtle deepness connects it to other lowlights like "Alvin" and "Wasting My Time." Pawel is sweet, lovely and reinvented.
