Etruria Beat founder Luca Agnelli unveils his long-awaited debut album, Source Drops -- presenting a ten-track journey through techno and beyond. With releases via a host of globally renowned labels, plus standout remixes including Moby's iconic "Porcelain", the Tuscany native's reputation has seen him become of the genre's leading artists when combining energetic, entrancing productions throughout his powerful DJ sets. His highly-anticipated debut album Source Drops is an in-depth musical story presenting growth, development, self-reflection and raw emotions via a collection of ten tracks ranging from powerful peak-time anthems through to EBM influenced cuts and slower, hypnotic productions. Agnelli: "This is the journey that traces my musical evolution of the last 20 years, discovering more conceptual, deeper musical territories; taking inspiration from what influenced me in my career as a DJ and from my continuous research without musical barriers. A journey always in equilibrium, at times dark and sharp, solar and fluid, that develops a different creative vision in each track trying to convey my most intimate and strongest emotions." Opening via the slow-blooming builds and atmospheric and waves of "Black Mirror", before diving into the heady and menacing tones of "Mutant Circle", the ten-track project quickly showcases a wide-reaching range of influences and nuances central to Agnelli's development as an artist over his career. Productions such as "Balance" and "Oxigen" contrast with one another whilst bringing space to proceedings, guided by breaks-influenced percussion, minimal arrangements and warping leads, whilst the driving "Resistance" harnesses classic techno tendencies to provide an energetic and lively, snaking journey through rich soundscapes. Title cut "Source Drops" brings that trademark Luca Agnelli energy to the heart of the project, merging scintillating melodies, acid-tinged stabs and icy hats to unveil a high-octane ride into the peak-time, whilst "Raw Surface" keeps the tempo high with sweeping leads, oscillating basslines and resonant lasers. Next, "Omega" spirals into an off- kilter ride through glitchy echoed vocals, crunchy percussion and rumbling low-ends, with the epic "Losing Control" welcoming an infectious lead melody at its core guided by punchy kicks and slick drum licks. To close, the package veers to an eerie yet ethereal close as hazy, celestial vocal chants meet panning sirens and swooping electronics -- punctuating an expansive and diverse offering from the Italian favorite and shaping up an impressive debut LP in the process.

Luca Agnelli's Etruria Beat sees Italian artist Bastinov return with a fantastic full-length album entitled All Through The Night. Bastinov is a master-craftsmen who imbues his music with melody and spirituality. After first releasing on Etruria in 2013, his standout sound design and the richness of his synth-work has continued to catch attention from the likes of Adam Beyer, Sven Väth, Pan-Pot. Across six superb EP releases, he has subtly developed his sound and now, on this debut album, makes his most complete and coherent musical statement yet. The Veneti artist showcases his ability to make synths take any form as he skews and stretches them to the heavens, or breaks them into crystalline droplets on "Arponoid" and "Elaysia". Next up on Etruria beat is the Dutch duo Hush & Sleep. The EP starts with the joyous track "Mirth". The main melody takes you on a carefree ride supported by a stomping kick and dreamy pads. Farrago takes a more stripped down approach and builds on the dreamy pad with tight percussion. The second original slowly starts to drag you into a feeling of hysteria, hence the name. Taking their signature kick as the foundation, Hush & Sleep use a haunting melody that lingers and sets an eerie mood. Marco Effe's remix is a deep stunning techno groover.

For Etruria Beat's 40th release, it's down to bossman Luca Agnelli. Following Metamorphosis (ETB 037EP, 2017), Luca lays down two slabs of absolute dynamite. "Voltumna" pays homage to the supreme god of Etruscan people: Powerful dynamics and balanced shades. "Aplu" is another dedication to Entruscan divinity: A barbed rolling dynamic that suddenly cracks open into a cosmos of light and emotion. Slam and Truncate each provide a remix of "Voltumna". Slam add their signature Glaswegian grit with distorted textures, while Truncate strips the groove back to a jacking dynamic that becomes progressively bouncier. Gold vinyl.

Etruria Beat label owner Luca Agnelli is back on his own label with two original cuts and two remixes by Abstract Division and Yotam Avni. Original tracks "Metamorphosis" and "Chaos" are very powerful techno tunes, filled with hypnotic looped chords, melodic synth stabs on solid beats, and drops. Dynamic Reflections owner Abstract Division revisited "Metamorphosis" in a very mental trippy way, adding a Dutch raw and dark touch to the title. With recent releases on Innervisions and Stroboscopic Artefact, Yotam Avni transforms "Metamorphosis" into a pumping groovy track that can destroy any dancefloor.

Venice resident Bastinov opens his second release on Etruria Beat with the huge analog synth of "Prisma" (featured on Sven Väth's 2015 The Sound of the 16th Season compilation (CORMIX 051CD)), repeating over a swinging 909 beat. André Kronert, the man behind so many labels (most of them are a secret) remixes "Prisma" with a hypnotic chord, delays, and a Basic Channel-influenced beat. "Sphere" features ring modulator synth sounds and tape delays floating over an energetic groove disturbed by strong claps and effects.
