"Composer Francois de Roubaix was born in 1939. He didn't receive any formal musical education, but he became interested in jazz from the age of 15. His professional musical career only spanned ten years, from 1965-1975. During that period he composed for commercials, TV series, shorts, and about 30 feature-length films. The most striking aspect of Francois de Roubaix's music is its versatility: on one hand, it's his ability to create simple, memorable tunes; on another hand, it's his bolder experiments with different timbres and recording techniques. He freely combined folkloric and electronic instruments, embracing the advent of the first synthesizers and rhythm boxes. Being a multi-instrumentalist gave him a high degree of artistic freedom, as he spent long hours at his home studio overdubbing various parts of his scores until he would reach the desired result. Du Jazz a L'Electro 1965-1975 is a brand new compilation album consisting of compositions by Francois de Roubaix. It includes previously unreleased and hard to find compositions from tv-series like Les Survivants and Tarif De Nuit. This compilation also includes compositions for commercials of Cointreau, Muratti and Fiat Coupe. Du Jazz a L'Electro 1965-1975 is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on solid yellow colored vinyl, housed in a gatefold sleeve with liner notes and background stories about the compositions."

"Giallo is part of the Ennio Morricone Themes series, a unique collection of the greatest scores 'The Maestro' has composed for movies over the past 70 years, divided into different themes. Starting 70 years ago as an arranger for the piece Mamma Bianca, Ennio Morricone is the emperor of scores and soundtracks. Morricone has always been a huge influence for the likes of Hans Zimmer, Danger Mouse, Muse, Metallica and many more musicians. He was one of the most successful composers of all-time, selling over 70 million records and winning dozens of awards. When we think of 1960's Italian pulp cinema, the spaghetti western is the genre that comes to mind. However, Italy was responsible for another classic cinematic exploitation movement around the same time, one that is equally as compelling, but less widely recognized. Giallo, meaning 'yellow', is the Italian term for crime fiction, it was named after the bright yellow colors of early pulp fiction paperbacks. Film audiences adopted it as the name for a peculiarly Italian sub-genre of thriller cinema that had its heyday in the 1970's -- just as the spaghetti western movement was waning. The Giallo can be difficult to define, but essentially it is an Italian crime film that draws from a pool of common themes: stylized murders, amateur sleuths, sleazy glamour, psychological crimes, enigmatic titles and all these themes are underpinned by creepily atmospheric Ennio Morricone music scores. Giallo is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on 'bloody & black' marbled vinyl. The package includes a four-page insert with liner notes written by Claudio Fuiano."

"Passion is part of the Ennio Morricone Themes series, a unique collection of the greatest scores 'The Maestro' composed for movies over the past 70 years, divided into different themes. Ennio Morricone composed soundtracks for well over 400 films during his stunning career. He did so with a genius and a passion that is unrivalled in film composition; yet looking back over his catalogue, certainly in his more familiar works, it is hard to find one single film that could be categorized as a conventional love story. However, passion is woven through so much of The Maestro's creations. Not merely by expressing the simple romance of a love story, but evoking passion in a grander sense, that passion that celebrates life, that pushes people to the limit of their endurance or inspires them to the peak of their capabilities. This is passion Italian style, not just reserved for love and affection. Morricone reminds us that everything in Italian life is approached with gusto, energy and passion. Passion is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on 'passionate red and white' marbled vinyl. The package includes a four-page insert with liner notes written by Claudio Fuiano."

"Psycho is part of the Ennio Morricone Themes series, a unique collection of the greatest scores 'The Maestro' composed for movies over the past 70 years, divided into different themes. Starting 70 years ago as an arranger for the piece Mamma Bianca, Ennio Morricone is the emperor of scores and soundtracks. Morricone has always been a huge influence for the likes of Hans Zimmer, Danger Mouse, Muse, Metallica and many more artists. He's one of the most successful composers of all-time, selling over 70 million records and winning dozens of awards. Psycho is dedicated to Morricone's work with Italian directors spanning the late 1960s up to the 1980s. These scores accompany some darkly dramatic films, some veering into the realms of horror. The music highlights the psychological tension within the films and contrasts with his work in the United States during the same era. This is Morricone where he feels truly at home, working with the nuances and drama of the Italian psyche as laid bare by Italian film makers. Psycho is available as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on 'black clouds' colored vinyl. The package includes a four-page insert with liner notes written by Claudio Fuiano."

"The Lost Daughter is a critically acclaimed 2021 psychological drama film written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal in her feature directorial debut, based on the 2006 same-titled novel by Elena Ferrante. The film stars Olivia Colman, Dakota Johnson, Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Dagmara Domińczyk, Jack Farthing, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, with Peter Sarsgaard, and Ed Harris. Colman also serves as an executive producer on the film. The film follows Leda (Colman) who is on a solo-vacation at the seaside and becomes consumed with a young mother and daughter as she watches them on the beach. When a small, seemingly meaningless event occurs, Leda is overwhelmed by memories of the difficult, unconventional choices she made as a mother and their consequences for herself and her family. The seemingly serene tale of a woman's pleasant rediscovery of herself soon becomes the story of a ferocious confrontation with an unsettled past. The Lost Daughter premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival, where Gyllenhaal won the Golden Osella Award for Best Screenplay. At its opening night world premiere, the movie received a four-minute standing ovation from Venice Film Festival attendees. The film also received three nominations at the 94th Academy Awards for Best Actress (Colman), Best Supporting Actress (Buckley), and Best Adapted Screenplay. The score is composed by Dickon Hinchliffe, founding member of Tindersticks. Dickon's unique style of composition and arrangements developed from his classical study of the violin and song writing and recording in bands. The Lost Daughter is available as a limited 'Peal it like a snake, don't let it break' edition of 750 individually numbered copies on orange marbled vinyl. The LP features alternative artwork designed by Yelena Yemchuk, a Ukranian professional photographer, painter and film director, best known for her work with The Smashing Pumpkins. The vinyl package includes an inset with pictures and liner notes by both Maggie Gyllenhaal and Dickon Hinchliffe."

"Beckett is a 2021 action thriller film directed by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino and produced by Luca Guadagnino, who previously worked on Call Me By Your Name. The film follows the story of American tourist Beckett (John David Washington) who is on vacation in Greece. After a devastating car accident with his girlfriend April, he becomes the target of a manhunt. Forced to run for his life, he finds himself falling deeper into a dangerous web of conspiracy. Beckett also stars Boyd Holbrook, Vicky Krieps and Alicia Vikander. The score is composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto -- composer, electro-pop pioneer, buddy to David Bowie, and synthesizer legend. His work since the late Seventies has earned him an Oscar, a BAFTA, a Grammy and two Golden Globe Awards. Sakamoto's music has consistently exuded a profound empathy. Whether leading Yellow Magic Orchestra's cheeky pop, collaborating with cranial ambient artists, or, more recently, confronting his own mortality, Sakamoto's music expresses in a few elegant gestures the haunting richness of life. This is a limited edition contains of 1000 individually numbered copies on translucent red colored vinyl. The package contains an insert with liner notes by Ferdinando Cito Filomarino and Luca Guadagnino."

"Get Carter, the classic 1971 British gangster movie, starred Michael Caine in a career-defining role as a London gangster out for revenge in the grim North. The film was directed by Mike Hodges and set in the derelict urban scenery of Newcastle. It could easily have come with a period glam rock soundtrack, but it sounded so much better with cool jazz. The album features classy, cool, and slightly edgy jazz that evokes the gritty imagery of the film. Get Carter was voted #16 in the '100 Favorite British Films Of The 20th Century' by the British Film Institute and #1 in the Total Film 'Greatest British Films Of All Time'. The iconic soundtrack, recorded on a tiny budget, was written by the jazz prodigy Roy Budd. Performed by Budd, in interplay with Jeff Clyne and Chris Karan (both of the Dudley Moore Trio), the score continues to inspire musicians worldwide. The trio carry the emotional weight of the soundtrack which has led to a number of covers and tributes. The original soundtrack to Get Carter is available as a revised edition, which comes with snippets of dialogue including that classic and sample-inviting line by Caine, 'You're a big man but you're in bad shape, for me it's a full-time job. Now behave yourself'. The album is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on purple colored vinyl."

"Daughters of Darkness is a 1971 English-spoken Belgian horror film. Directed by Harry Kümel, this cult erotic vampire film stars Delphine Seyrig, Danielle Ouimet, John Karlen, and Andrea Rau. The story features a newlywed couple that stops at a posh French hotel on their way to England. They meet a beautiful, red-lipped woman whom the hotel owner swears had been there 40 years ago, even though she hasn't aged. She introduces herself as Countess of Bathory and folks begin to wonder. Its score was created by multiple award-winning composer François de Roubaix, who is seen as a precursor of the French electronic music next to his jazz expertise. Years after its original release, the music was picked up and sampled by several hip-hop artists, such as Ice-T, Ab-Soul and Lil Wayne. Critics, actors, and directors call it one of the best horror movies ever made. A retrospective poll by Time Out in the early 2010s placed the film at number 90 in their top 100 horror films. In 2021, we celebrate the movie's 50th anniversary. Film festival Gent will show the movie in its entity with an orchestra playing the score. With the help of director Harry Kümel and Patricia and Benjamin de Roubaix, the Original Soundtrack of Daughters of Darkness is available on black vinyl and contains an exclusive poster and printed innersleeves."

"The Last Emperor is a lavish historical epic directed by the great Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci and starring John Lone, Joan Chen, and Peter O'Toole. The film tells the life story of Pu Yi, the last monarch of the Chinese Qing dynasty prior to the republican revolution in 1911. The score for The Last Emperor was created by an unlikely trio: Ryuichi Sakamoto, David Byrne, and Cong Su. The soundtrack is a theme-filled exploration of the sounds and musical traditions of Imperial China, filtered through some very contemporary sensibilities. Sakamoto's contribution comprises nine cues and is focused around his main theme: a beautiful, lyrical melody for the full orchestra. It's soft, wistful, and introspective, but becomes increasingly dramatic. Byrne contributes five cues, and the first one is the most recognisable, as it's the main title theme playing over the film's stylish opening credits sequence. It emerges from a set of evocative Chinese percussion items, with the melody being carried by a gorgeous, lilting erhu. It's traditional and wholly steeped in Chinese classical music, but it has a real emotional weight that will connect with westerners. Cong Su's contribution to the soundtrack album comprises just one cue -- 'Lunch' -- but there is much more of his music in the film; Su was basically responsible for writing all the period-specific Chinese source music one hears in and around the imperial palace during Pu Yi's childhood. All in all, Sakamoto, Byrne and Cong Su deliver an excellent score. The LP comes with an insert with liner notes and photos."

2022 restock. "Roma is a 2018 drama film written and directed by Alfonso Cuaron, which is a semi-autobiographical take on Cuaron's upbringing in the Colonia Roma neighborhood of Mexico City. The music in the movie recreates the mood of Mexico City in the 1970s. 'It was mostly about choosing songs that were on the radio,' says music supervisor Lynn Fainchtein. She did research on the different music the Mexican radio stations were playing during the time in which the story of the movie takes place. English rock and pop music alternated with the typical Mexican music of the '70s, from performers like Jose Jose, Juan Gabriel, and Rigo Tovar. Fainchtein is known for her work on movies like Birdman and The Revenant. Roma earned multiple Academy Awards and Alfonso Cuaron won different awards for directing the movie (Golden Globe, Oscars). The soundtrack package contains a 4-page booklet. Features Leo Dan, Rocio Durcal, Juan Gabriel, Jose Jose, Rigo Tovar, Javier Solis, Christie, Yvonne Elliman, Orquesta Perez Prado, Trio Chicontepec, Los Socios Del Ritmo, Lupita D'alessio, Angelica Maria, Acapulco Tropical, and Elbert Moguel Moguel Y Los Strwck."

"The French film composer Francois De Roubaix recorded compositions for a lot of movies. One of them is the Belgian cult horror classic Daughters of Darkness. The soundtrack to the erotic vampire film consists of a lot of different musical elements and is a seductive score. It's one of Francois' finest pieces of music. The colourful compositions supports the love story and the different ways the vampires interact. Years after its recording Hip-Hop producers used samples from the score in their songs, among others Lil Wayne. The movie has been voted by authors, directors, actors and critics as one of the top horror films of all time. According to the critic Geoffrey O'Brien: 'Daughters of Darkness leans flamboyantly toward the artistic end of the Lesbian vampires spectrum, with Delphine Seyrig sporting Marienbad-like costumes and the Belgian director conjuring up images of luxurious decadence replete with feathers, mirrors, and long, winding hotel corridors. At the film's core, however, is a deeply unpleasant evocation of a war of nerves between Seyrig's vampire and the bourgeois newlyweds into whose honeymoon she insinuates herself. The package contains an exclusive poster + printed innersleeve."

"Call Me By Your Name, the film by Luca Guadagnino, is a sensual and transcendent tale of first love, based on the acclaimed novel by André Aciman. Summer of 1983, Northern Italy. An American-Italian is enamored by an American student who comes to study and live with his family. Together they share an unforgettable summer full of music, food, and romance that will forever change them. The film received critical acclaim. Critics praised in particular Chalamet, Hammer and Stuhlbarg's performances, Guadagnino's direction and the screenplay. Call Me By Your Name won a variety of Awards, including Academy, Bafta, GLAAD and many more. Sufjan Stevens's song 'Mystery of Love' was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 90th Academy Awards. Luca Guadagnino wanted the film's music to be connected to Elio, a young pianist who likes to transcribe and adapt pieces in order to get close to Oliver. The music is used to reflect the time, the characters' family, level of education and 'the kind of canon they would be a part of'. Guadagnino found himself resonating with Sufjan Stevens' lyricism through his work and initially asked Stevens to record an original song. Eventually, Stevens contributed three songs to the soundtrack: 'Visions of Gideon', which was used at the end of the film, 'Mystery of Love,' which was featured in the film's first trailer and a new rendition of 'Futile Devices' with piano. Stevens penned the songs by using the script, the book, and the conversations with the director about the characters. It marks Sufjan Stevens' first soundtrack for a feature film. The vinyl package of Call Me By Your Name includes a poster, an insert and the 180 gram records are housed in 2 exclusive printed innersleeves. Special Limited Peach Season Edition. The records are peach-coloured and the LP package has a peach scent. 7.777 individually numbered copies are available, but only in Peach Harvest season.
