Autarkic is back with Tahor, a bold sonic collage where history, nostalgia, and raw emotion collide. This limited-edition vinyl release weaves together vintage samples, archival snippets, and hypnotic beats, crafting a personal and collective memory trip. 14 tracks of euphoric highs, hazy melancholy, and wry humor. The artist, DJ, and producer Autarkic (Nadav Spiegel), one of the most influential underground figures in recent years and a key player in TLV electronic scene, releases a new Hebrew-language album, available as a limited-edition vinyl and on digital platforms. Tahor is Autarkic's sixth album and his second in Hebrew. It is entirely composed of a mosaic of samples from his personal music collection, cuts from archival recordings, and historical references that hint at events that shaped him. The result is a personal and collective memory machine -- 14 tracks that take the listener on a journey through euphoric joy, subdued melancholy, and playful sarcasm. Tahor is a journey that emerges from Autarkic's private consciousness, offering a sober reflection on his unwavering insistence on being an artist who neither knows nor wishes to "play the game" for popularity ultimately finding peace with himself. Throughout the album, Autarkic ventures beyond his own mind into the outside world, confronting social and political realities and adding his own musical document about life in Israel.

MUSIQ 281EP
|
New artist on Mule Musiq. Tel Aviv born producer Nadav Siegel aka Autarkic has been releasing nice indie dance tracks from Disco Halal, Life And Death, Turbo, and Optimo Music, to name a few. This is his first release on Mule Musiq. 12" kicks off with a killer psychedelic techno house track "Cymbals Powder Rush", floating deep house which is reminiscent of Lawrence's stuff, "A Petition For Grace", slow mo-electric German progressive new age tune, "New Age Swag", Detroit manner machine funk, "Breeder".

DGTL 006EP

Strange Alliances holds two striking and contemporary tracks by Tel Aviv native Autarkic, who also has releases out on Turbo and Life and Death - plus remixes by Trikk and Rebolledo. It seems the Amsterdam based label has another winner on their hands; with Autarkic having an exceptional personality one would expect the same from his music. This is exactly what you get with Strange Alliances, as his originality shines through on both tracks, having used a lot of live instruments and his own vocals on both tracks, adding to its ingenuity. Art by Tim Straver and Boris Acket.

LAD 037EP
|
Heavy Dreamer is Autarkic's first, four-track outing on Life And Death. Ever present tones of kraut and punk rock flow throughout the EP, beginning with "Some Things To Keep", a pumping, warehouse floor-filler. "Realistic Guru", the trippiest of the lot, is tailor made for an early morning DJ Tennis afterparty excursion. The title track stands as a testament to this new wave of artists, coming from the shores of Israel's Mediterranean coastline. Slowing down the pace on "Powerhouse", Autarkic hints at moments of Bauhaus's and Tones On Tail's doom and dance pop.

TURBO 180EP
|
Autarkic, aka Nadav Spiegel, presents Rotation! Rotation!. If things were more down-tempo on his first EPs, these tracks point squarely at the dancefloor. The arrangements are especially strong, each song building in a way that feels exceedingly rare in dance music, in every case the second half elements come together in just the right way to surprise you, even make you fall in love. The somber vocals and unadorned production are just rough enough to make the unexpectedly beautiful twists and emotive flourishes call your attention and keep you hooked. There's also a slamming Red Axes remix.
